astronomy club sent up a weather balloon w a gopro in it last friday. put in three packs of fruit snacks so they could have a giggle over eating fruit snacks that had been to space.

balloon went up into inner space, about 90,000 feet. came down right near the dinosaur park. a few physics teachers drive out to get it, crack it open on the way home to start watching the footage.

fruit snacks are missing.

multiple sources confirm that fruit snacks were put in balloon and sealed in with duct tape. physics teachers check entire balloon. no fruit snacks.

physics teachers watch footage. all 7 hours of it. right in the middle of footage, there are about 8 minutes of visual and audio static when balloon is in orbit. no other interference with balloon recorded.

conclusions: ???????

I'm writing an aftg pjo fanfic and it's a beast. Arc 1 is almost done after 3 years so to say (4 more to go), but last night I went to see hadestown in my country and it wrecked me and my friends. So I'd just like to warn you all, because I've also been working on a twinyards and Nicky go to the underworld fic. So buckle up losers and have a snippet of my notes

A little emotional vent, but I just watched the httyd live action movie yesterday and let me tell you.

This movie made me smile so hard, I can't remember the last time I genuinely grinned so free and childlike like this. Like I've been struggling through ptsd and the like for years and suddenly it was just like I was a kid again, watching the first movie on a school day with a friend in our small local cinema as the only people there. Just, no worries. All my baggage left at the doorstep of the cinema and my popcorn in hands and I just had forgotten that feeling and really appreciated being reminded of it.

So genuinely, is it a copy paste of the og movies? Yeah. But I don't think that matters when this movie in all its different forms hit so many people. I mean I was wriggling in excitement next to a 8-10yo boy who was jumping up and down and no one cared, because we were all having fun. That's what made this movie great to me. To feel connected and to escape all your troubles for even a single moment again and just be that child that wishes they had their own gronckle or monstrous nightmare.

Yes I too like oddyseus went on a long arduous journey lost at sea (got lost while running) only to have my path blocked by Poseidon (a rooster larger than my dog) whom I had to evade. And to be thwarted by monsters (a goat mean mugging me and multiple chickens), just trying to go home to Ithica (my apartment in the CITY) after 20 long years.
