                 The wolf was actually hesitant.                  Not just because they were a stranger to him,                  but by the presence of her scaled creatures. He                  was not acquainted with said species, and thus,                  did not know which abilities they hid. But curious                  nose kept smelling from a considerable ratius,                  before walking further to the woman.

She sat patiently, her hand still as she waited. The woman had to admit she did want to touch him, but if he were to deny her, she would accept that as well.

The way the pup kneeled and tried to hide herself , within her members gave a hint to the wolf. So, they didn't have these because they wanted to right? it couldn't be a sense of fashion since the little girl seemed bothered by it.

      Grey Wind couldn't guess the reason behind this, but it somehow ensaddened him. What kind of monster would put a defenseless child in such situation ? This was worse than a simple punishment.

   Paws paced forward, and licked the child's arm,    as if trying to console her. If he ever came across    the culprit he would be sure to torn his head off.

"… h-hello…" she said softly, staring at the creature. Something about animals always made her feel a little better. Yet, she did not move closer, did not reach to touch it. In part because she was scared to. But also because she had not been ordered to do so. So she simply watched as it approached, amazed by the animal’s form.

                        The wolf felt almost no fear coming from the child, which actually surprised him. Normally, human pups would either find him to be a dog, or tremble in fear that their heads could end up off their bodies. Grey Wind was pretty much used to humans, having grown alongside them, so many times he forgot about this small detail.

                      Yet, he noticed something distubing. He could sense                      the mark of wounds implied on many parts of her body:                      legs, back...and not to mention the shackles on her feet.                      He didn't have record of ever seeing someone with these                      tied. So, why did this human pup carry such an umcomfortable object?

                     The wolf turned his head to the side, as if unapproving the boy's scaredy character. He shouldn't certainly much far from his own lord's age, and still he acted like a little child. Well, he was a wolf , it was reasonable to be scared okay and all but, it was getting somewhat irritating, because he had just smelled him. 

         The giant wolf seemed to look almost annoyed as it stared the healer down, and it was that impassive, unimpressed gaze that allowed Sphintus’ heart to slow to its normal rhythm. At least it didn’t seem like he’d be attacked right now.

        “Good boy.” He softly offered in praise, attempting to recall a few key words that might help the situation. "Just stay right there and everything will be fine."

                              The wolf looked to the side, unamused. It wasn't that he disliked the boy, it was just that he did not inspire him enough confidence. After all, his human companion, had handled matters of different importance at age 15 , quite young and always seemed capable and brave to fight whatever obstacle. So, he expected the same for someone who claimed to be of the little pup's family. They had to be capable to at least stand up to an adversity.

Grey does not approve the fact that tanned boy is your family. He thinks you need someone stronger to protect you. [ head tilts ]

"What’s wrong Grey?" she asked, reaching to pat his head. "I saw you playing with Sphintus~ You don’t like him?"

                          Oh dear... He could understand why some people [ wrongly ] feared him. He was a wild creature, and had a fierce prowess. But, why did humans always resort to that unsettling sentence? he was no doggie! ; but a full-grown direwolf. Were they not acquainted with this canine species? Sometimes Grey Wind lost his patience at this.   Nevertheless, the furry being sat on the ground, decisively staring at the human with an impatient gaze. Would he stop shaking if he halted on his sniffing?

The giant canine waited patiently for the pup's answer; When the boy pronounced the expected word related to the color of his furry coat, the wolf emitted a short howl. Yet, the last one would be too far from it. Unless he went to his owner's family, he would probably never guess it right.

   So it was a guessing game. How a wolf would be able to tell him whether he was right or wrong was difficult to say, but it was worth a try.

   Removing his fingers from the canine’s fur, he stepped back and gave the beast a once-over with his eyes. He admired the large paws, the pointed ears and terrifying maw. Its eyes were sharp, clear and strangely intelligent.

   When it motioned with his head to its fur, Conan hummed to himself. Unfortunately, there were many names that came with the hint — all of which were, undoubtedly, wrong.

   He supposed he could begin with the more obvious choices. “Does it have the word grey in it? Is it Grey Pelt? No. Grey Hide? Grey Tail, Grey Fur?”

Grey Wind wasn't trusting this particular individual; not even a little, at least. A loud snarl, and show of teeth, inquirying his purposes.

Jack backed away from the creature — a wolf, or dog or something — slowly, knowing that to obey his instinct and run as fast as he could in the other direction would be bad.
