Music Row Is Now A National Treasure
This past year, there have been many people behind the Save Studio A campaign. With musicians such as Ben Folds brining in his fan group to support the cause, crowds of supporters showed up to support the studio through rallies around Nashville. RCA Studio A was established in 1965 with artist such as Elvis, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson recording here. As one of the first recording studios on Music Row, RCA Studio A has paved way for many other businesses including We Make Tapes & Discs which established shortly thereafter in 1979. Regardless of its historical value, original plans were to replace the studio location with apartment buildings; however that decision has now been overturned. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has stepped in and declared Music Row a National Treasure. Although the decision to declare it a national treasure is not a common one, Brown, the Vice-President of the organization said that it makes sense "It's the heart and soul of this great city, and it's definitely a national treasure". Since the population of Nashville is expanding, the need to accommodate these changes was affecting Music Row. After this decision, the expansion of Nashville will no longer have what some may view to be a negative impact on Music Row.

Buy Your Tickets!
1. TM+
Ticketmaster, the leading site in ticket sales, now has events that are labeled TM+. These events allow customers to resell their tickets via Ticketmaster. Tickets can be sold at market value or above. When asked why they decided to add this new model to their business now, one manager said "I would rather our fan base go to Ticketmaster to look at all the inventory of tickets rather than go, 'Oh, that's going to be sold out' -- and just default over to StubHub." Meaning, even if the event is sold out, the resell tickets will show up on the site rather than saying the event is sold out. To make their profits, Ticketmaster collects 10% of buyer and seller fees on each transaction.

2. StubHub
StubHub is the leading online market place for resell tickets. They consider themselves the “clearinghouse for ticket sales”. With 15 million visitors per month, StubHub have become a major sponsor for many entertainment events. Like TM+, StubHub earns 20-25% of the purchase price of every ticket sold.

3. VividSeats
VividSeats is another resell website and a major competitor to websites such as StubHub. Although reports have found that StubHub is better than VividSeats in regards to ease of use, they are rated the same based on customer service. Additionally, it was found that VividSeats offers better prices than StubHub. They offer customers free listing but collect a 10% commission on all tickets sold.
To show the different prices ranges that each website offers compared to the original selling price, below are 3 popular concerts that are happening in Nashville soon
1. Jason Aldean ($30 to $60)
TM+: $97 to $530
StubHub: $63 to $11,000
VividSeats: $56 to $4,000
2. Maroon 5 ($25 to $120)
TM+: $150 to $2250
StubHub: $95 to $4,000
VividSeats: $109 to $1,800
3. Fleetwood Mac ($45 to $175)
TM+: $108 to $2,000
StubHub: $117 to $8,700
VividSeats: $88 to $2,700

Fall Contest Winners Spotlight
With our Fall promotion contest wrapping up this week, we wanted to highlight our six awesome weekly winners and their fabulous music. First up...
The magnificent duo Haven Drive made up of Nikki Boon & Ry Nelson grabbed our attention immediately. Their country/pop styling is fantastic and we want to hear more. Follow this link to watch their video for Hopeful Heart.
Our second week's winner, Camille Rae is no stranger to the music scene, having performed in many local venues in and around Nashville. We love her intimate lyrics and big voice. Here is her performance of original song I Need Me.
LaFever was victorious during our third week of video submissions. Also a finalist during our Spring Talent Tweet contest, LaFever gives off awesome vibes a la Jason Mraz and Phillip Phillips. This live performance is catchy, brilliant, and we love it.
Brother/sister duo Gus & the Fuss were our winner Week 3. Their beautiful melodies and intricate harmonies won us over in a flash. Watch their entry video by clicking here.
Week 5's winner - up and coming country musician Tyler Barham - was an easy pick. His new single, "More Than a Cotton Dress," is shooting up the charts on Sirius XM's The Highway and it's easy to hear why. Watch the lyric video for Tyler's song here.
Finally, Colma - the collaborative duo made up of John Murphy and Abigail York - won our final weekly contest. Their beautifully rich acoustic entry made our hearts melt. This breakout duo is just starting and we're proud to be one of the first to hop on this bandwagon. See their entry here.
So there you have it. Our 6 talented weekly winners and their entries. One of these performers will be chosen by a panel of music industry judges and perform at the season closer of Musicians Corner on October 25th. We can't wait to see who will win!
