Is your blorbo just the most at repression? Enter them here to fight it out! In this competition we’ll have characters deemed to be really repressed fight for the crown of the Ruler of Repression!

Rules:

-fictional characters only!  -I’ll be doing preliminaries, and the final bracket should have like 52 characters. -I’ll be keeping submissions open either until I get 400-ish submissions or a week goes by. Whichever comes first.

-no Harry Potter characters. I’m not dealing with that.

-if their repression isn’t canon-canon, make a good case! Tell me why they should win the title! -there are a few characters I’m guaranteeing a spot for. These are:

-Sasha Nein, Finn the Human, Steven Universe, sonic the hedgehog.

And of course, keep it civil! Propaganda is encouraged, tag me in your posts or submit/send them through asks, but don’t be mean spirited! Harassment or just being a Dick will get you softblocked at first and full on blocked if it continues.

Hello and welcome to the Latin American characters showdown!

RULES:

- No real people.

- Ideally the character would be canonically latine, but if you make a strong enough argument as to why they should be included, I’ll consider it on a case by case basis!

- No OCs, sorry.

- You’re welcome to submit the same character multiple times! Voter fraud is encouraged as these are Latin American elections and I want the results to reflect that. 💛💙❤️

So, what happens now? Will this account still be active in some way?

The account's going on a hiatus for now, but I'm going to hold a rematch sometime soon, so it'll be active again then. I'm thinking it'll probably be around June?

I also have considered doing some matches in the meantime that would have been fun to see but that we didn't get to see in the actual tournament for one reason or another. Matches like Pit vs. Icarus from Greek mythology or seeing if Crowley can avenge Aziraphale or if the goose beats him too. If you guys are interested in that type of thing, I'm open to doing those and taking requests!

We have a winner!

Congratulations to Brietta for winning the first Wing Showdown! She just barely won, by five votes, but she still made it there in the end.

I’d also like to congratulate Toothless for nearly winning and for making it this far.

There are probably some concerns with potential bots, but after looking at trends in when these polls were being reblogged and who was getting more support in the notes, it seems like it was initially being reblogged by more HTTYD fans yesterday afternoon/evening and that then it started being reblogged by more Barbie fans this morning/afternoon. Looking through the notes, there was a sudden surge in support for Brietta there, too. Of course, I don’t really know of a way I can KNOW for sure.

To anyone who might be disappointed that there favorite characters didn’t get as far as they’d like, please remember that this is a silly little Tumblr poll just for fun.

There will also be a rematch sometime this spring or summer! I’ll publish more details when that gets closer.

characters should be humanoid (mostly out of convenience for me)

character's wings can be permanent or temporary/retractable

no ocs please!! i'm sure they're all super cool though!

you can make multiple submissions, but please only nominate one character at a time!

Round Six Updates

Sorry that I didn’t post sooner. Real life stuff has started getting in the way a little.

After looking at the number of votes on the Barbie polls, I do think that if there was any fraud, it might not have been as egregious as people were making it out to be since the polls the first time around were extremely close and each Barbie character got fewer votes in the first poll than the total number of votes in the most recent poll. While I know that there are some people who just like to press buttons, I do think that this shows that these characters are, at the very least, not so obscure that it doesn’t make sense that they even got this far as some people were insinuating to me. They received a roughly similar amount of attention as the Howl vs. Pikario poll. Of course, if there was any botting at all, I disapprove of that but this makes me cautiously optimistic that it was a misunderstanding or at least won’t happen again in the next round.

I’m going to keep my word and put Brietta against Sephiroth in this next round since he got more votes than Howl. I do anticipate for this poll to be more popular than the other because of the popularity of the Raphaella vs. Sephiroth poll and this blog’s base of followers. However, I will try to monitor it this time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if it’s posted anywhere else (i.e. Discord) that could bring in a sudden surge of voters that way no one panics. Screenshots would also be useful for my peace of mind. I can keep it to myself if you want to remain anonymous for whatever reason, but I just want to know that there’s no cheating going on.

This one is for canonically autistic characters! I've loved watching all the other autistic brackets and I love seeing all the headcanons, but I'm tired of watching my faves lose to headcanons. So now if they're gonna lose, it's gonna be to other canon characters.

However, I can't come up with 32 characters on my own, so will be taking submissions. The only rules are no real people and the characters have to be canonically autistic- either in the text or through word of god. Submissions through the ask box!

Welcome to the Heterochromia Smackdown!!!

Time to make the babes with different colored eyes fight! Currently not sure if I'll be doing a 32 or 64 character bracket, it'll depend on how many submissions I get. Please read the rules before submitting through the link provided.

Submissions Rules:

Fictional characters only, no real people. Characters played by real people are fine, but don't submit the actor please.

Only submit characters who canonically have heterochromia. Fan headcanons/designs are neat and all, but I want this to only be characters who actually have heterochromia in their canon designs.

No OCs please. I'm sure your characters are lovely, and I am giving them a little pat on the head but don't submit them.

All types of heterochormia count (central, sectoral/segmental, and complete).

Characters with temporary heterochromia are perfectly fine! By that I mean characters who have powers or an alternate form that changes their eyes, just so long as it is part of their canon designs. (examples: Kaneki Ken, Judai Yuki, Lelouch Lamperouge) If their eyes change color, but both eyes are the same color or their changed eyes are not multicolored, this does not count. (examples: Kurapika, Goku, shiny Pokemon)

Characters with prosthetic eyes that are heterochromatic are also fine to submit!

If a character's eyes are multicolored as a staple of the art style of what they are from, this does not count. See this post for a better explanation of what I mean by this.

You can submit multiple characters, but do not include more than one character on the form. Submit multiple characters using multiple forms.

Only submit a character once. Spam submissions will not be counted, and if they annoy me enough I might disqualify the character altogether.

Please only submit through the google form. Submissions sent to my ask box will not be counted.

More rules will be added as needed.

Regarding the current hiatus…

Hey guys! Thank you for the support that I’ve gotten during this difficult situation. I’ve gotten a lot of anons in the time since I last updated and, rather than answer a billion asks in a row, I decided I’d just make this post instead.

First of all, there’s been a weird amount of Barbie hate in my inbox, which is making me a little wary. Like people saying that there’s no way that Barbie characters could have even gotten this far fairly and I should just disqualify them and that they never should have been included and things like that. And it’s a LOT of messages.

My icon is literally the wings of two Barbie characters. When submissions were open, the characters who were submitted by multiple people were: Brietta, Elina, Mariposa, Hue, Raphaella, Aziraphale, Crowley, Dark Pit, Aisha, Medli, Meta Knight, Rainbow Dash, Ryuk, Sephiroth, Spamton NEO, and Toothless. Of those, the characters to get more than two votes were Brietta (3), Elina (4), Mariposa (5), Sephiroth (3), and Spamton NEO (3). My most consistent rebloggers have been Barbie and Precure blogs. This blog was practically built on the backs of the Barbie fandom.

I was also told that the polls were shared on a Barbie discord server and that that’s where a lot of the attention came from. And I’ll believe that after the way that those guys from Ninjago beat the MARIO BROTHERS in the Red and Green bracket from people sending it to Discord servers. But I’d still like to err on the side of caution, so I’ve tried to come up with the most fair compromise possible after reading the suggestions I was given.

So here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to redo the left side of the bracket with Mariposa against Brietta in one poll and Howl and Pikario against each other in the other. Then I’m going to mix up the bracket a little bit to put the winning Barbie character up against either Sephiroth or the winner of the Howl/Pikario poll, depending on whoever ultimately got the most votes (Sephiroth got 305 votes, so if either Howl or Pikario gets more than that, then they will go up against the winning Barbie character). I’ll figure out how exactly to rearrange it based on the participation next round. I think it’ll also give me a better idea of how many Barbie fans are in my audience to see how many people vote in a Barbie vs. Barbie competition.

I’m still worried that this problem might persist, but this was the best I could do after taking everyone’s comments and suggestions into account. Thank you again, everyone. And remember, this is ultimately supposed to be FUN. Please don’t try to ruin it for everyone else through cheating or any other dishonest means.

The second Howl hit 50/50 with Brietta, Brietta somehow at a steady pace gained almost 200 votes in under an hour? Incredibly sus and illegitimate "win" for Brietta. Someone is clearly cheating this entire poll to make sure she wins.

I've gotten a few different anonymous messages alerting me to this and saying it's happening in the poll with Mariposa, too. I don't know how to proceed with this since I don't have any experience with this kind of thing. So the polls are going to go on hiatus while I try to figure this out. Any suggestions are welcome, especially if you have experience with this kind of thing.
