Long post on stranger things supernatural plot:
Im not sure that Will’s ability to sense thoughts and feelings is exclusive to Vecna. They have been able to disguise this because Will is a very empathetic and intuitive character, but I think it’s more than him being sensitive.
In season 2 Will turns around in class because he can feel Max watching him. When he walks past other kids, the camera focuses on their expressions. We as the viewer can clearly tell what they’re thinking, maybe to put us in Will’s shoes. Walking into school after bob drops him off, Will looks uncomfortable, glancing at the other kids, appearing very self conscious. When El has to remove part of the (meat flayer? Not sure what that’s actually called) Will has an expression of anguish on his face, like he can feel her pain. While they’re all hiding in Starcourt, the camera focuses on Will looking almost like he’s feeling everyone else’s fear in addition to his own. When Angela trips El and that crowd forms around her, El doesn’t move at first, neither does Will. He’s frozen just like her. When she’s picking up her broken diorama, Will cries like it was his and says “we can fix it together.” When Owen’s people show up at the Byers house to tell them about El and the murders in Hawkins, Will shakes his head as though he already knows something horrible has happened. Mike doesn’t need to explain what he means by “I thought I lost you” Will just knows.
“You’re scared of losing her.”
And the more concerning:
“He’s always weird when he has to go in.”- Lucas
“And listen, you know there’s nothing to be nervous about” and “I’m gonna be there the whole time.” -Joyce
“You promised no doctor.” -Will
“You don’t trust Owen’s?”- Mike
Makes me think no one in that lab thought Will actually had PTSD. And Will could feel that, but said nothing because they all told him it was all in his head. If he knew it was real, and he told his mom, she would have never brought him back to that lab. They wouldn’t be able to study him anymore.

it’s kinda tragic that el fell in love with mike by watching him look for will because she’d never known love like that, and she saw mike’s capacity for such intense love, and, rightfully so, wanted it for herself. but she never got that version of mike. it’s more apparent in s4 than anywhere else, but all el has really ever wanted is for mike to love her like he loves will

Okay so not only does Mike not successfully apologise to El and instead always apologises to Will and knows exactly where he went wrong every time and takes full accountability -
Will's like,,,, the only one he really explicitly says sorry to, for all his behaviour, without any excuses.
(He obviously has that thing in S1 with Lucas, but he takes years to apologist bruh, and i honestly think that arc was just supposed to introduce the fact he can't apologise that well to anyone)
Yelling at El in Season 1? Nope
Being mad at Lucas in Season 1? Very very reluctantly and after a long time of being separated. This storyline sets up the fact he doesn't like apologising anyways.
Being mean to Max in Season 2? Nope
Lying to El in Season 3? Excuses Excuses and a lot of fucking moping
Being mean to Max AGAIN in S3? Nah
Yelling at Hopper? Duh no
Hurting Will's feelings? Bikes through the rain the same night instead of waiting a second and bangs on his door, taking responsibility without excuses. Then when Will doesn't answer he searches in the forest for him, again, in a thunderstorm.
Getting upset at El at Rink o Mania? Tries to apologise but then doubles down when he gets confronted AGAINNN
Not telling El he loves her? More excuses (you could say he 'apologises' in the monologue. but cmon buddy)
Being cold to Will all day? Apologises to Will and doesn't let Will say that it's his fault at all. Instead of making a dumb excuse, he explains that he just felt like he'd lost him in a heartfelt way. He gives Will what he wanted by saying they'd be best friends, like Will said.
Yeah so Will brings out the best in Mike okay we been knew

Will made Mike an entire painting—mind you, he hadn't seen him in 6 months, witnessed El receive a "book of letters" from Mike, and barely got a call... yet he STILL made him an entire painting about his love for Mike.
Will Byers, nobody deserves you.

We ALREADY know one of Will's powers in Season 5, and it will lead to conflict for Byler
The show literally told us a power that Will has at the end of Season 4:
Will literally thinks and feels what Vecna does.
It's almost certain that this is what's going on in the teaser:
Vecna is furious and Will feels it. Vecna's about to attack the people around Will. Will not only feels his approach but also KNOWS HIS PLAN, and he's warning them to RUN.
This is no mere tingling of the neck. Will literally knows Vecna's thoughts.
This is Will's crucial role in the party in Season 5. It's a direct continuation of what Will felt in Season 2:
Mike saw it is a strategic advantage against the Mind Flayer:
And it'll be one of the KEY CONFLICTS in Season 5. Mike understands the advantage of using Will's connection against Vecna. But using it is extremely dangerous: they all remember what happened when Max served as bait. Mike does not want anything to happen to Will. Leader Mike knows that using Will is tactically correct, but Mike the Heart doesn't want to. (And as @byler4vida corrects me, he WON'T.)
But we all know WILL is prepared to sacrifice his own well-being to help Hawkins, whether Mike likes it or not.
We might even have a situation where Will and Vecna's connection means that killing Vecna will also kill Will (or at least appear to). What would Mike do then??
Will's sheer determination to sacrifice himself for the greater good might in fact be the occasion for Mike to confess his love.
However things play out, all the arrows point toward the following: Mike and Will's decision to be "a team" to save Hawkins and Mike and Will's love and concern for each other will be AT ODDS, and lead to some of the key dramatic moments of Season 5.

can't believe I only just processed that the original tunnels go around Lover's Lake, which means that, considering Byler and their infamous shovel, we could get a scene in s5 in the tunnels around Lover's Lake—perhaps a way to get close to the rift that opened there

how is will so hated by milkvans even though he's the only one keeping them together
#because they know Will gets the attention Mike should be giving his girlfriend#theyre aware that Will & Mikes friendship is different and a potential threat to their ship 🤷🏻♀️
