Making Time to Witch

I have so many ideas for starting to get back into my craft again that I've successfully OVERWHELMED myself to the point of freezing up again.
I'm about to be hella busy again, working 7 days a week and running between home and Houston EVERY SINGLE WEEK for the next 8 weeks. On top of that, I will be looking for a second full time WFH job so that I can help more around my house. I currently make "enough" to get by but I would like to make enough to live.
The goal is 6k a month.
But I can't do that if my brain won't let me.
Back in "the day", when my dad got laid off when I was in college, I went out and got 3 jobs. Two full time and a part-time. I had two days a week were I worked 24 hour days. Today, the way my brain is, after the work trauma I've been through in the last few years, I couldn't do that as successfully as I did before.
I want to get back to that time in a way because somehow even with all the work I did, I passed school with a 3.8GPA and did my witchcraft and my hobby craft....
Yes I know it was the trauma but still, I was productive AF.
I want to be able to make and create again without this overwhelming feeling of "you can't do this".
I've been living with this feeling since I let the worst type of people into my inner circle. I honestly now looking back, can feel what they did to me, both mentally and spiritually, and damn if it wasn't gradual and subtle AF. I let them in and they broke me down and now I'm trying to rebuild with about 4 people outside of my sister and parents and my partner.
Rebuilding after a Trojan Horse sucks completely.
That's why I am going to schedule the hell out of what I want to do. Starting this Friday because I NEVER start on a Monday.
I am going to begin with SHADOW WORK but I am going to give 3 different kinds so that even people with zero experience with witchcraft can dive into healing.
I'm working on building that list right now and I'll post it once I have a final draft fleshed out I will post it here.
Hurdy Gur.

TV Shows that Make My Brain Happy
Scooby Doo has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. I watched it at lunch growing up and I still watch it when my brain needs the happy chemicals today. And I would say it doesn't matter what Scooby Doo version I watch but that isn't true.
Scrappy Doo is creepy and the live action movies nailed him as a villain.
Ok, Ok, Ok.... I know.
Feel free to judge me for this one, everyone else does lol but Mountain Monsters makes my brain SO MUCH DAMN SEROTONIN. Its like the Spanish version of the Jim Adler the Texas Hammer commercial. All the tickles so happy. Its a dumb show, a bunch of hillbillies from Appalachia trying to catch Bigfoot in traps nee Wylie Coyote. Its fun.

Have you ever seen someone just "copy paste" something that worked and it just missed the mark? I still like the show, mainly because of the beauty of the Alaskan backdrop but this show was WEIRD and that's coming from me.

This is one of the best live action survival television shows ever. Period. Hard stop. No arguments will be accepted. Masters of survival, Terry Schappert - special forces, Jake Zweig - Navy Seal, John Hudson - RAF SERE instructor, and Matt Graham - "primitive" skills, take turns kidnapping each other and dropping the "victim" in a remote location where they have 100 hours to find civilization. Its a lot of fun and I've introduced this show to everyone I know because they have never heard of it.
This was an awesome show but Netflix dropped the ball. She has her own YouTube and patreon now so go check her out. She does elaborate DIYS and makes creepy and kooky a lifestyle choice. She is motivation incarnate.
These are my streaming happy chemical producers. Honorable mentions also include: The A-Team, Psych, Murder She Wrote, Tremors the Series, River Monsters, and the Addams Family.
What are your favorite TV Shows? I'm also ways mining for dopamine and searching for serotonin.

Making Change
If it were easy it wouldn't be change.
Ok, that's it for being deep. But what if all the complications of "change" are a result of generational trauma?
I know, I know, just another #millennial not wanting to take responsibility for their own life... #projectingmuchboomer but think about it for another minute.
How many times have you told your parents that something was "difficult to do" like math or science and got told "oh, I never got it in school either". The resulting train of thought is "oh so its genetic, we are both bad at XYZ".
But what if that just cemented a mental block that causes the triggered gut response of "I can't do that"?
As I got older, I found that there was math and science I was good at and that made sense to my brain that wasn't taught in my school.
There is also the physical aspects of generational trauma.
#ripOliviaNewtonJohn
"Oh your aunt was heavy as a child"
"Oh your grandma got white hair young"
"Oh your great uncle used to have that"
I'm going to hazard a guess that at some point in your life something you do or don't like about you physical appearance and attributes, has been credited to a relation of some kind.
Gods know that my aunt has told me enough times that I "look like her" that the thought of getting back into healthy weight seems impossible.
Those thoughts, coupled with chronic stress and fatigue makes it seem like EVERYTHING is working against me. Like the universe itself is part of the plot. I couldn't get the "I can't do it" thought spiral out of my head. So I decided I needed to get back into my Craft.
I've been a practicing witch since I was about 12 years old. I come from a christian household, but that has changed over the years. We were raised Spanish-Roman catholic-- iykyk-- but now, I'm open pagan, my sister is atheist, my mom and dad are agnostic(mom more so than dad), and my Friendboy is self religious.
When I tell you this house is peaceful and the vibes are immaculate.
As adults who are owning their truths, myself and my parents and sister have never been closer. Now we aren't having to hide pieces of ourselves from each other its amazing the relationships you can have with family.
And I have lost weight from when I moved back into my parent's house. I was less than 10 pounds away from 300, which is the heaviest I've ever been. I'm currently at 262, still high but less than were I was. I want to be in "onderland", like 190 or so. And before you go "that's too high, women of short stature need to be XXX" EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT.
And I have high testosterone and back when I worked out, male muscle density.
Sooooo I know that my body now, at 5ft3in and 262, I wear a size 14/16 pant, which I've been told "can't be right" and if I start working out, I tone up quickly.
I just haven't been able to find the motivation.
The voices in my brain can be cruel and tell me there is not point to try. But recently, with the Lionsgate portal, I felt a shift inside.
I want to be the very best version of who I can be now. Not who I was or who I used to want to be. I need to see clearly where I am now and do the work needed to become the best that I can be.
So that meant change. And change is hard. But here are the changes I've started making: *Putting my phone away by 1030pm and lights off by 11 *Waking up by 630 to let my brain wake up slowly instead of waking up late and stressed *Sorting and taking supplements and figuring out what makes my body feel better *Making our bed in the AM, no particular time just aiming for before noon (I work from home) *Better haircare and working to find a routine that works for me *Finding a skincare routine with products I like, I prefer minimal ingredients and as natural as possible *Remembering that "SELF CARE" is not a waste of time and that not only is it good for my mental and physical health, its good for my spirit *SHADOW WORK IS NOT JUST IMPORTANT BUT NECESSARY
This is just the start of the changes I'm making for the better, more will be added as I make process.
So like John McClaine said:
I am Angel, your hostess with the mostess, your lovely WitchTryal, stay tuned for more.

Anyone looking to make a proper Scooby-Doo adaptation please remember:
Fred is the charismatic face of the group and the strategizer. Later adaptations made him a massive himbo who chugs respect for women juice and those have become necessary parts of his character.
Shaggy is cowardly but also incredibly resourceful; let us not forget his skill at ventriloquism. Make Shaggy the skill monkey, who every episode mentions some weird skill he has that's previously unmentioned; that'd be an amazing running gag. Also, bring back the dry humor Casey Kasem injected into the og character.
Scooby is Shaggy's best friend, the other half to his two-man comedy routine. Independently of Shaggy, Scooby is also prone to be a bit mischievous and just kind of a little scamp. Play up both of those things.
Velma is the smart nerdy one, who also had a really dry sense of humor. I don't know why she was turned into the "I'm surrounded by idiots" character because, while as I stated, she always had a dry sense of humor, she was never mean to her friends and never talked down to them, or anyone else. Bring back the chipper Velma from like Witch's Ghost or Zombie Island. Let Velma be a little cutie pie. Also keep her as a lebian
Daphne was... originally really just "The Girly One" but later adaptations have fleshed her out, like making her essentially the muscle of the group, which is just amazing and should continue. She's also been cast as the oddly resourceful one. Shaggy is the skill monkey, Daphne is the one who has a tool for literally any job. Human Swiss Army Knife, which again, would be an amazing running gag.
Have Shaggy and Daphne bounce off-the-wall ideas for a plan together, Fred steps in to ground them, while still using their ideas, and incorporating Velma's theories about the case.
Make references to Flim Flam and Hot Dog Water
A Scooby-Doo adaptation should not be difficult, and must be done with love.

There’s so many options for an adult scooby doo show though
More deeply criticizing rich people who often end up being the monsters
Same tone and goofiness as the kids’ shows but in adult situations like murders or strip clubs
Gang is college age and trying to still solve mysteries while growing up and living young adult lives
The gang embraces it’s Summer of ‘69 roots and is a period piece that shows how a hippie, a nerd, a rich girl, and some random white dude would be so close in divisive times. While fighting ghosts.
A Clue-like parody of the mystery genre
An openly ACAB show
An adaptation of the zombie comic
Mockumentary series where the gang has a ghost hunting yt channel
A generally more serious tone but still has jokes and a talking dog
Exactly the same as one of the kids’ shows but Shaggy smokes weed on screen and Scooby swears

Druids believed that bees represented the sun, the Goddess, celebration, and community.
The Greeks thought that a babies whose lips where touched by a bee would become a great poet or a great speaker. In ancient Greece it was also thought that they symbolized industry, hard work, messengers of the dead, and obedience. Honey was often used as an offering to their Gods. They also believed bees were the surviving souls of the priestesses who served the Goddess Aphrodite.

Bees in Magick:
Bees are closely associated with the fae and their presence in gardens which indicates blessings of fae. Thus, encouraging the blessings from the fae, while harming bees can anger them and cause them to seek revenge.
The symbol of a bee can be used to seal a spell with sweetness for one who appreciates good will and a sting for one who takes it for granted or doesn’t keep his end of the bargain.
Honey stirred into your tea can ‘sweeten’ your day.
Honey is used often in magick to sweeten a situation.
Anointing your lips with honey will make your words sound sweeter.
Bees in your dreams:
May be a good omen.
Bees in your dreams may be telling you to take a look at your social networks. They may be pointing toward a desire for more harmonious and functional relationships, or celebrating the ones you already have.
A visit from a bee in a dream may also be notifying you that a friend or family member needs to speak with you. You will know as this person will also pop into your mind somehow. It means call them or perhaps, that you will hear from them soon.
Dreaming of a beehive usually relates to the home and family or your business and coworkers. A happy, buzzing hive means a happy, buzzing home. It may foretell incoming abundance, and fruitful times ahead. If the bees are swarming around the hive, rather than working in it, proceed with caution. There is a lack of harmony that is interfering with productivity.
A swarm of bees may indicate that you feel that a group of people upon whose cooperation you rely is becoming chaotic and out of control. Perhaps the need to balance your own interactions with your different business and social groups for your own sanity.
Beehives bring to mind abundance and prosperity: bees seem to work hard and are rewarded by flowing stores of honey. An empty beehive, then, represents the opposite: lost opportunity and financial misfortune.
A beehive can also represent a home. The fullness or emptiness of the beehive may indicate unconscious feelings about family life, marriage, children, or the house itself. Honey may represent your property or belongings.
A beehive on fire or burned bees are often interpreted depending on your emotional and physical condition. Burned bees may mean you are overcoming fear and want to take control of life and anger, are you’re progressing through life with more confidence without any fear of obstacles. Burned beehives can also mean you have lost something precious, like money, a relationship, or some valuable information that you’ve forgotten or ignored.
If a bee or a swarm of bees is chasing you in dream, it may mean there is some unsettled business or a memory that haunts you. Make sure you let it go from your mind or deal with it in order to avoid these bees.
If you dream about getting a bee sting then something may be bothering you, or you have a persistent annoyance in your life. Concerns about your relationship, career, finance, or some unknown issue is bugging your subconscious mind. Find out what it is and sort it out.
Magickal uses for Honey:
Can be used in binding spells to symbolically stick things together.
Used for offerings to fae and deities.
Can sweeten a person or a situation.
Honey is sacred to Aphrodite.
Can be used in spells corresponding to purification, health, love, happiness, spirituality, wisdom, good fortune, fertility,
Use certain types of honey that corresponded with your spell.
Bathe in warm water and honey to attract love.
A dish filled with honey can attract angels and beneficial spirits.
Do your part to save the bees they are an important part of our life and in our magick practices.
May the moon light your path!

Tasseography
•Tea leaf reading•
You might be wondering where this unusual form of divination came from, so here’s a short history on tasseography. Shortly after tea was introduced to Europe, tea leaf reading, as it’s now recognized, was born. Similar divination tools had been used with an assortment of other materials. The art of tea leaf reading spread through Europe, and is now practiced throughout the world.

Doing a tea leaf reading involves you indulging in a delicious cup of tea and putting your sharp intuitive skills to work. After you enjoy your warm cup of loose leaf tea, you’ll leave the loose tea leaves at the bottom, where some of these leaves will form symbols, each having their own meaning. That’s where your keen intuitive abilities come in! Anyone can see a triangle at the bottom of a teacup, but your job is to intuit what it means for you or the person you’re reading for.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR A TEA LEAF READING
Tea cup with a wide brim that’s light enough to easily see your tea leaves.
Saucer
Loose leaf green or black tea, preferably organic.
Napkins
Pen and paper
Water

HOW TO PERFORM A TEA LEAF READING
1. BREW YOUR TEA
Gather all of your materials. Boil your water. Place about a teaspoon of loose tea in your cup. Pour your water in and steep tea to your preference.
For the next 3 steps, if you’re doing a reading for someone else, have them do the following steps.
2. SIP & SWIRL
Before you take your first sip, gently swirl tea counter clockwise three times. Sip and enjoy your tea, but don’t drink it all! When there’s about 1 tablespoon of tea left in your cup, swirl it again 3 times counter clockwise and think about or speak your query aloud.
3. CREATE YOUR TEA READING CANVAS
Turn your cup upside down onto your saucer to remove the remaining water, allow it a minute or so to drain, then turn it back up right.
4. LOOK FOR SYMBOLS
Look over your loose leaf tea pieces and see if any symbols or shapes jump out to you immediately. Don’t fret if you don’t see anything immediately, similar to scrying with a crystal ball, it can take some time for imagery to form for you. Try looking at the inside of the cup from different directions to see shapes. Keep in mind the images formed are formed from tea leaves, so you will really need to use your imagination.
5. RECORD & DECIPHER YOUR FINDINGS
If you do start to see some shapes, begin writing them down on your piece of paper so you can decipher them later, note where in the cup they are too. Now you’re ready to decipher your findings! Here’s a guide for the most common symbols found during tea leaf readings:

6. UNDERSTAND THE TIMELINE
Where your tea leaves are situated in your cup relate to when they will happen. This is why some of the tea leaf reading cups you find have circles inside of them. Timing is broken into thirds as follows:
Bottom third: farthest away from happening, think 3-5 years out.
Top third: will be happening in the near future, think within the next few weeks.
Middle third: will happen in about a year from now.

7. FORM YOUR READING
Like most divination tools, a honed intuition is key for success, so be sure to lean on any gut instincts as you form the story for your reading. Once you understand the meaning behind the symbols it’s time to put all of the information into a story that makes sense for you or the person you’re doing a reading for.

Nancy Drew Games are 50% off on Steam right now so here are some shitty descriptions of the games for newbies or partners (not in order, also spoilers)
Secrets can kill: dickface high schooler was pushed down a flight of stairs, find out who did it
The Silent Spy: Nancy has mommy issues and cosplays as a spy in Scotland
Sea of Darkness: all of the characters have trauma around a ship. featuring the only canonically queer character.
Deadly Device: tech bro gets electrocuted, who did it oh noooo. Feat: women in stem
Midnight in Salem: Glitch-wise, this is the fandom-equivalent of the first release of FNAF Security Breach but doesn’t nearly slay as hard and they didn’t patch any of the bugs. Haven’t played it but the fandom is 50/50 on it, maybe 80/20 against
Shattered Medallion: off brand amazing race goes wrong, feat. A recurring character who you’re supposed to know
Alibi in Ashes: Nancy didn’t commit arson (this time) so who the fuck did? See also, “I can commit major theft and prod you about your dead mom, but I draw the line at arson.”
The Captive Curse: monster and intergenerational trauma, beautifully told story. Plus lederhosen.
Shadow at the Waters Edge: ghosts and intergenerational trauma, beautifully told story. Plus kawaii
Ghost of Thornton hall; ghosts and intergenerational trauma, beautifully told story. Plus southern people.
The Final Scene: nancys friend who we’ve never met gets kidnapped. Plus magic tricks/Houdini. Plus old man.
The Haunted Carousel: Dead mom plus the most annoying daughter you’ll ever encounter and her emotional support robot. Also you’re supposed to fix a theme park
Danger by Design: Parisian fashion designer with anger issues and also might deny that nazis happened during wwii
Curse of blackmoor manor: British girl says oh no my stepmom is turning into a werewolf
Warnings at Waverly Academy; the trailer for this one said something like “I hang out with teenage girls in this one, it could be my scariest case yet”, basically be prepared to do other students homework. Also immaculate dark academia/fall vibes tho
Phantom of Venice: white boy of the month shows you his seven hour tesserae slideshow and you single-handedly bring down a crime ring while wearing stupid outfits
Trail of the Twister: someone is sabotaging a storm chasing team but Nancy cares more about asking the local general store owner about his dead wife
Secret of the Old Clock: It’s magically 1930 again, this game feels so far off brand from pretty much all of the other ones imo but the music goes HARD and there’s def some homoerotic tensions between a dead old man and his live-in psychic
Legend of the Crystal Skull: make a curio shop owner sneeze, collect glass eyeballs, watch a Gerard Way look-alike cry, and maybe get buried alive
Haunting of Castle Malloy: banshees and letterpress and a pub that conveniently only serves juice. Terrible Irish accents. Try to find a missing groom for a wedding but also enjoy a walking sim that walked so Stardew Valley could run
Creature of Kapu Cave: get stuck in a tourist trap resort by a guy who calls himself Big Island Mike, then get stuck in a forest with an entomologist who makes you do her work for her, then get stuck in a research facility with an angry white guy who makes you do his work and then falls asleep. Music slaps but no idea what the plot of the game is supposed to be. Also do a “freaky friday” style switch with the Hardy Boys every time you call them on your cell phone.
Last train to Blue Moon canyon: picture Paris Hilton inviting you on a train and then she goes missing. Also on the train with you: the worst police detective, Zak Bagans impersonator, and Colleen Hoover-vibes.
White Wolf of Icicle Creek: “I fired. And I missed. I missed again. I got sad. I had a popsicle.”
