Big thing announcement! Please read.
Well then you cheeky otters, it's probably about time we dusted off this machine and got you some fine updatery. First off we have a gig announcement! And it's an important one. We're playing at The Parish in Huddersfield on Friday November 8th, topping the bill and supported by our good friends from Nottingham, Fighting Evil Is Cool, and a couple of other bands yet to be confirmed. We'll also be starring our alumni member James "Cullum" Turner on trombone! Why is this an important gig? Well, you may have noticed our quietness over the past few months and this has been based around the decision to invoke "indefinite hiatus" status, and so this is to be our last gig for what is likely to be a long time. This is all an entirely amiable agreement with the band as is a result of several factors, such as the departure of our horn section and difficulty in coordinating our schedules around various employments. Seven (7) years we have been going, we have had in that time (I think) 6 different horn players, 7 different bassists and played countless gigs at The Parish. Your presence, support, beautiful faces and dancing skills are the fuel which has kept it going for as long as it has. Words can only express so much, especially in textual form, so let us say it to you in person by coming along to our gig on November 8th! We've still got a whole bunch of merch so we'll be flogging it at knock-down prices (these prices will eventually be reflected on our Bandcamp site, too). That being said, we're not giving up on music entirely and there is another project in the works, albeit an entirely different beast from Wobbly Bob. It's still in the early stages, but updates will be posted to this page when things begin forming! We've had the most amazing time, and we hope you have too. See you on the 8th. “Ah, music, a magic beyond all we do here!” - Dumbledore

Updates and stuff and things!
Hey all! We're sorry we've been quiet these past few months. We've not had many gigs and we've been dealing with "real life" (*yawn*) commitments.
We live for gigs and so we're trying to book as many as we can around our day jobs and other commitments. We're also working on our new songs for ALBUM NUMBER 2.
We hope to start introducing some of the new songs in our live sets over the next few months. This is part of our plan to get them tight as possible, and truly uncover the song within the song before we record, as playing a song live is the best way to get a feel for it.
We think you're going to love our next offering, there are going to be a whole bunch of new sounds to tickle your ear drums with. There's going to be some hard rock, some bouncy crazy stuff, some blatant influences and some of the usual Wobbly Bob Weirdness!
We've been rocking along since last August with just the one trumpet player. Toots has been a magnificent addition to the band and she proves herself a true Wobbly Bobber with every gig. We're still looking to expand our horn section as part of what makes our songs punch is harmonies, in both the vocal and the horn lines. We had planned on gaining a trombone player as the trombone carries a particular tone and sound we were after, but a saxophone player introduced himself to us so we're going to see how that goes!
It's going to be some time before a finished shiny disc filled with new tracks presents itself, but it is in progress, most of the songs are written and just need bringing into the real world.
Here's an idea of some of the places you can expect to find us over the next few months:
Thursday March 28th: The Nightingale in Huddersfield - One of our classic pub function sets, packed with originals and covers! Free entry, just be sure to compliment the bar staff on their beautiful faces.
Thursday April 11th: The Parish in Huddersfield - My GOODNESS are we excited for this one! Suburban Legends have returned to the UK and are currently touring with Reel Big Fish. After they make a jaunt across Europe, SL are returning for a UK headline tour with our buddies Upbeat Allstars in support! We'll be playing with them at The Parish along with Leeds punksters Eat Defeat.
Friday April 12th: Penelope's in Sheffield - Not a vast amount of details on this one, we're playing an hour's set, and from what I hear it's going to be quite the party!
Friday May 3rd: Bar 1:22 in Huddersfield - Always a good night to be had at Bar 1:22, again I don't know yet who we're playing with but more details will arise! Saturday July 20th: The Picturedrome in Holmfirth We're back on the bill for the Summer Ska Splash at The Picturedrome, where we played last year, and once again we're going to be supporting the massive two-tone legends The Beat! There will be a few other bands on, so again keep your eyes peeled for details. Admittedly, what with all the social media sites that we do our best to participate in, Tumblr hasn't received the attention you guys deserve. We'll be doing our best to keep you all up to date, but to cover our bases, you might be best off giving us a like on facebook, where updates are much more frequent!

A little word from our bassist on last night's gig :)
Last night Wobbly Bob played at The Exchange Arts Centre in Keighley (Yorkshire). It was probably the quietest show I’ve ever played, which is sad. When we started playing, there were only two people there (who, surprisingly, I recognised from Huddersfield). Sometimes I might secretly blame a...

This, a thousand times this.
How is this hate-filled bullshit journalism? How did this get published? How is an article like this legal? Isn’t this inciting hatred? How did she become a writer? Why is she allowed to use a national media outlet to spout her childish taunts and get away with it? More importantly, IS ANYONE GOING TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS? Please reblog.

WE LOVE YOU!
This is probably the best sticker picture ever.
If anyone else wants to give photos like this a go, you can either pick up FREE stickers from one of our gigs or email us at [email protected] with your address and we'll send you enough stickers as long as you promise to post the photos on Tumblr and tag "Wobbly Bob"!
If you already have stickers... you know what to do.

Wobbly Boob are awesome.

I admire this guy so much and hope to shake his hand one day. And maybe make him a cup of tea. To have him recognise me as a musician would pretty much complete my life. Lvl 99. Assign your experience points and feel free to explore the world.

Album Review!
Check it out! I don't know if we've had an official album review yet. On the album we released 18 months ago... But here's one! And I know there's another on the way, and this one is very nice indeed :) Thanks for Gary of Incognito Music Magazine! http://incognitomusicmagazine.com/2012/12/01/ska-saturday-wobbly-bob/ My favourite quote: "...it’s only fair to warn you that you will want to dance and sing when you hear it. Make sure you’re in a place where you can do both when you play this album."
