Hello. My name is Sean Erin and sometimes I write things. When I write things, I need to motivate myself. This blog is that motivation.

no excuses writing meme, askbox version
(Nicked from iambickilometer):
drop one of these bad boys in my askbox and i will post, without editing

LAST — the most recently written two sentences of my current project
NEXT — the next line. meaning i will finish the sentence I’m on and write a new one, which you’ll get.
[insert prompt here] — you post a prompt, and i’ll write three sentences based on that prompt, set in the same time/setting as my current project
THE END — i’ll make up an ending, or post the ending if i’ve written it
BEFORE THE BEGINNING — three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
POV — something that’s already happened, retold from another character’s perspective

20 Images Of Norwegian Architecture Plucked Straight From A Fairytale

The Norwegian countryside is strewn with architecture that looks better suited to crown the pages of a fairytale book. More commonly known for its Vikings heritage and fjords, these photographs display a wide variety of architectural styles that have been used throughout the Middle Ages to the 19th century in Norway. Check out the stunning collection below.
Crooked and towering wooden churches beckoning like an old crone’s fingers, winding stone path weaving through a forest, hidden waterfalls and lonely wooden cabins overlooking a vast valley at its base are some of the outlandish homes and architectural designs we have featured in this series. Teetering Stave churches, eerie waterfalls cascading down like a creature with its own mind, wooden homes made in the typical Norwegian indigenous style called byggeskikk have none of the linearity or conformity that modern buildings do, and have whimsical elements that heighten its sense of magic.
Each of these structures below have a particular way of being set into its own environment, standing out from the elements without obstructing nature. Most of the buildings and bridges and pathways have been built with stone and wood balance the scene it has been engineered upon.

On Feedback and Perspective
Recently I’ve seen a number of posts on the subject of giving feedback to writers / artists / creators, and I wanted to add a few thoughts of my own.
First a confession: For the longest time, I was really, really bad about leaving feedback. Not because I didn’t enjoy the stories (I did) or because I didn’t think the writers deserved some appreciation (they do!), but purely because as a reader, I really had no insight on what it’s like on the other side of the “Comment” button.
Now that I have started sending my own writing babes into the world, I have a very different perspective (and am now trying my best to leave feedback on everything I enjoyed). So I thought I’d make a little reference guide on “What I (the Reader) Believed Writers Think About Feedback” vs. “What I (the Writer) Now Know They Really Think”. Maybe you’ll recognize yourself somewhere in there, too…
Reader comments: I loved it :-)
The Reader believed: Eh. Why are you bothering me? I have important writer things to do.
But the Writer knows: I am so happy to hear that, thank you for taking the time to tell me!
Reader comments: This was so funny / sad / hot!
The Reader believed: I know. That was the point. Why are you bothering me? I have important writer things to do.
But the Writer knows: I made you have a feeling! I made a thing and it touched you! YesYesYes! Thank you for taking the time to tell me that!
Reader leaves kudos / comment on a story that is older than two weeks
The Reader believed: Geez, that one’s ancient. Why are you bothering me? I have important writer things to do.
But the Writer knows: Someone is still reading and enjoying that story! That is so awesome! Thank you for taking the time to tell me that!
Reader leaves kudos on every story in the series / comments on every chapter in the story
The Reader believed: That’s a bit creepy. Please don’t be a stalker.
But the Writer knows: They read one thing and liked it so much they read the others, too, and they liked all of them! Thank you, lovely person, for making my day!
Reader writes long, burbling comment full of exclamation marks!!! and emoticons :-))))) because THEY LOVE IT SO MUCH
The Reader believed: What are you, three? If you expect me to take you seriously, try talking like an adult, please. Also why are you bothering me? I have important writer things to do.
But the Writer knows: YOU BEAUTIFUL TREASURE OF A PERSON I LOVE YOU AND I WANT TO TAKE YOU HOME AND FEED YOU CHOCOLATE FOREVER
(Okay, so I haven’t actually had that last one happen to me, but I imagine that is what my reaction would be. Except I probably wouldn’t be quite so restrained.)
Anyone else have that experience? Feel free to add your own :-)

Writer's dilemma
So while unable to get to sleep I’m laying under my fan trying to settle when it occurs to me that on probably more than one occasion all writers suffer from the following issues with plot bunnies!
Issue one the mass breeding of bunnies.
This is when we find ourselves swarmed by furry little fiends who all like to latch on at once!
Issue two the hyperactive bunny
This little shit likes to come barreling out of nowhere and blindside you when you’re least expecting him.
Issue three the drunk bunny
This little bastard usually starts heading off in one direction before falling ass over head nd heading entirely in the other direction and usually not in a straight line either!
Issue four the size challenged bunny
This little shit usually gives you a rough idea of how long your fic should be but then when you actually write it you realise this particular bunny has no relevant concept of size and distance.
Issue five the lethargic bunny
This little fucker right here starts out like the infamous hare taking off like a bat out of hell before suddenly it does an about face and instead decides it wants to be a tortoise. I know the saying goes Slow and steady wins the race but in this case not so much!
Issue six the easy startled bunny
You need to be careful when approaching this little guy as he is easily startled and will be uncooperative once you scare the life out of him.
Issue seven the I’ll do it myself bunny
This guy gets so sick of our shit he’ll finally just up and go give me the damn keyboard and I’ll do this shit myself not that that is generally a wise idea cause who know what this bunny has been into before turning up in our heads!
Issue eight the dying bunny
This little fucker right here usually winds up being attached to an idea we utterly love and could have been happily working away in before he suddenly just goes fuck you I’m done!
Issue nine the facepalm bunny
You can be quite happily working away on your fic when little fella suddenly does this. Usually after you put something in there entirely out of the blue and your bunny just goes what the fuck is this author thinking?
Issue ten the vampire bunny

This is usually when the bunny from issue eight resurrects and latches onto your throat until you do what it wants when it wants. You have no chance in hell of protecting yourself from this little shit unless one of your muses happened to have been a slayer in their former life. These fuckers are immune to crosses, holy water and garlic, first warning signs before they start latching onto you is your vegetables going missing or having their juices drained dry.
Hopefully this has either A been enlightening, B given you a good laugh or C both of the above. If you think I’ve missed any that need to brought to our attention please feel free to add them on.

“Tiptoe” - Masako (Ghost Hunt)
For @samantha-girlscout And the final drabble of the night! I had so much fun doing Masako! She does not get enough love. Song [ here ].
She’s a sheltered girl. She knows this. She is just a tool for a company to get money. She knows this as well. Her ‘talents’ seem a sham to everyone—Naru, Mai, everyone. She knows this. It kills her. The man continues to yell at her, spouting truths he really doesn’t know anything about, making a scene on the sidewalk. I am nothing but a pretty face. “I know this.” I am stupid girl who will never amount to anything more but another child star dead in an alley. “Shut up.” I am repulsive creature that makes any human sick. And she can’t take it any more. She reaches forward and shoves him, knocking the man to the ground. “Don’t tell me things I already know, you low-life piece of scum.” And she scurries away, her shoes clacking on the sidewalk. It’s all over the tabloids, the news, in a matter of moments. She does not care. She is fired. She does not care. Her friends are waiting for her outside of the studio. She does care. She cares more than they’ll ever know. “Now you can be my friend, right, Miss High and Mighty?” Mai asks and Masako begins to cry, nodding through her tears.

“Paris Holds the Key to Your Heart” - LadyNoir (Miraculous Ladybug)
For a lovely anon. Three out of four drabbles people suggested! One more to go. I don’t believe I have these two quite down in the ‘in character’ department, so I apologize in advance, but I hope you enjoy either way! Song [ here ].
“Chat, what are you doing?” Ladybug looks at her partner unimpressed as he starts dancing by himself. “I’m dancing, My Lady!” He leans back, away from his imaginary partner to look at her. “You look ridiculous!” She tells him, leaning against the railing of the Eiffel Tower. “I wouldn’t if you joined me,” he tells her starting to make his way over to her in waltz steps. Ladybug stiffens immediately, “Oh, I don’t dance.” You sound like a cliche romance heroine! She scolds herself, but she quickly finds a hand on her waist and she no longer has a chance to argue. They’re spinning and twirling, making spotted shadows along the top of the Tower. “Chat!” she says in a little panic and amusement. “Don’t worry, My Lady,” he slows the dance to a stop, “You’re doing lovely.” He smiles and leans in for a kiss. Ladybug doesn’t object.
#my work#fanfiction#miraculous ladybug#ladynoir#anastasia#i like this one too#i'm so happy to finally write these guys
