Ok so this might be too funny to just not post it

I recently started reading the Steel Ball Run mangas and everything was fine for a while. I first bought vol. 1 when I was at the bookstore while my boyfriend struggled to find a birthday gift for his friend. Every Steel Ball Run manga costs around 50-60 BRL, which is around the same price as a good brunch in my town.

This isn't cheap, though, so I literally started skipping my brunch every weekend to by the next volume lmfao I did this with both vol. 2 and vol. 3

But vol. 3 is going to arrive in OCTOBER (lol). So now I don't really know what to do or what to think during my freetime. Guess it's the universe telling me to stop hyperfixating and start studying.

They didn't deserve to watch their father die - we as humans should be doing everything in our power to prevent this heartbreak.

What is Forests in Ruins?

Forests in Ruins is @0ct0bersrust (that's me!)'s musical project.

In 2024 I had the biggest existential crisis of my life. I realized that everything I ever did, everything I ever wanted, everything I labeled myself as - none of that matters.

The only thing that truly matters is life.

There is not a single thing in this world that matters if life is not involved. Happiness only exists when shared with other living beings. Our dreams can only be accomplished if we are on a habitable world with living creatures. Think about anything you've ever wanted in your life - it can be traced back to life.

And yet, we as humanity destroy it non-chalantly every single day without realizing we are digging our own gravesites.

According to my professors at university, we have about 25 years to change drastically the way society is structured and stop overconsumption before we hit points-of-no-return for the global climate and biomass. Each point-of-no-return would directly impact other points and we would quickly make this planet inhabitable. That is terrifying to me.

Unless humans realize that life is the most important thing and actually change our lifestyles to take care of mother earth, we are literally doomed to never live. And note: can you travel, play in the snow, see flowers blossom, pet a street cat or fullfil your childhood dreams if there is no earth?

As a 19 year old girl changing grad schools, there isn't much for me to do but to bring awareness to the world we have right now and how we need to take care of it. But just awareness isn't enough, because the importance of life can't just be learned by the brain - it has to be felt by the heart. And what better way to unite both causes then music?

So this is how FiR was born. The name "Forests in Ruins" evoke two meanings: the forests are falling down to ruins, meaning we are destroying our home and mother; and forests are growing over ruins, which also has two meanings: they have been here millions of years before us and will continue to adapt and survive past our self-imposed extinction. This isn't just about forests - it's about life. Life will find a way beyond us, but we still must fight for ourselves and those who might not be able to adapt to the everchanging climate.

Although I want to write about healing the world, I realized that my microcosmic world also needed healing, so you will also find in FiR verses about my experiences and struggles as an autistic girl, a survivor of sexual violence and a soul in a dying, disinchanted world.

I hope your journey through my music makes you feel something. You might feel hopefull, understood, enraged. It's Forests in Ruins, after all.

And remember: life is all that matters. 💚🪻

Hey gang for those of you waiting for my return just letting you know that running the muppet joker account has put a very real strain on my real life marriage and I have decided to step away from the blog for the foreseeable future.

I have been talking to her and everone else in my personal life "in character" as the muppet joker so that my blog would be as true to life as possible. I have been wearing Joker makeup around the house, which at first she found funny, but now she can't even look at me. I started compulsively fantasizing about the muppets and it's ruining our sex life. I accidentally called her Kermit in the bedroom and she made me sleep on the couch for a week.

Our son turned one year old this year on July 5th, on the day of Dashcon 2. My wife begged and pleaded with me to stay home and celebrate his birthday, but I was stupid and selfish and had become completely taken over by the muppet joker persona at that point. I went. I returned home to an ultimatum. Its my family, or it's the muppet joker. I chose my family.

Sorry tumblr. I have failed you. I have failed my wife. I have failed my son. I have to go now, to be with them, and to watch my child grow up.

Introducing myself to the Tumblr family

So, I've known about insane tumblr blogs and historical moments for years from afar, but after hearing about the Muppet Joker (🛐) lore, I've decided that it is finally time to be part of that history. If the Berlin Wall is about to be put down, I want to destroy it myself. If the Dramaggedon is about to break out, I want to follow the subscribe counts live. I want to be part of Tumblr.

So this is how I got into Tumblr, but who am I and what are my plans for this blog?
