Hey, just read the Handler story and I️ have a practical BDSM question: What kind of Aftercare did Clint need after chapter 18? How long would it take to heal up completely from a double scene as intense as that one? Thank you for your time, and have a nice day!

Author: Well, Clint’s pretty different from the average person. Still, I’ve known people like him. Was one myself, in fact. Most of the time, even when a scene is really intense, it’s still arousing to him, and what he wants afterwards is intimacy, not cuddles and warm blankets and being petted. His training, which has included learning how to resist torture, just wouldn’t be as affected in the same ways as normal humans who don’t have his abilities. Writing for superheroes is different from writing about regular people. 

For the most part, the kinds of scenes Clint enjoys are more intense than those most regular civilians would want very often. It’s kind of fun to write someone like that, but he’s very much a fantasy. While I have done almost all of the things I’ve written about in that series, it was never as regularly as Clint can handle them. I was also a person who never needed a lot of aftercare, but it should never be assumed that everyone is like that. My own sub does need aftercare. We always prepare beforehand, and have juice and something sweet to restore her blood sugar on hand in the room before we start the scene. We both make sure to get some protein first too. It can help prepare your body for the rigors of an intense scene. 

Mainly the important thing is, no matter who you are, to communicate about what both Dom and sub need from aftercare. Everyone’s different. Some people don’t want to be touched. Some want cuddles. Most people need to rehydrate even if they don’t feel like it. Most people need to eat something at least soon after a scene.. You may not need all of these things if you’re the type of person who doesn’t react strongly to scenes, or the scene is a light one, but chemical changes do happen in most people’s brains even if they’re not aware of them, and restoring your blood sugar and hydration will make a big difference.

Author: So I have some news, and I hope it will make more people happy than sad. A little while ago, I got a message from another well-known writer on AO3 who I didn’t even know followed my blog. She’d read about our money problems, and offered some advice. It’s something I haven’t been able to do up until now because of certain start-up costs, but….

So I’m going to start publishing on Kindle. Don’t anybody panic. I’m not going to take down a bunch of my stories to re-write them. I have one work I want to re-do and expand on to turn it into an e-book, but it’s one of my more obscure ones and not in any of my main fandoms. For my first work, anyway. I do have plans to write a book with a character who is, in many ways, based on Asami, but he’ll be a different person, from a different country, and probably not involved in the underworld. It’s one I’ve already started, a long time ago, but I’ve been so busy working on fanfictions that I haven’t had time for it lately.But the first one will be a supernatural fantasy romance set in a world where preternatural beings exist, a pretty fucked up world, and three people who are brought together in trying to change things for the better.

SO, what this means is that I’m going to finish the commissions I have on my plate. I’m going to get all of the series I’m working on to a place where they’re not in the middle of a story. And then I’m going to go on a writing hiatus to work on that project. I’m not saying I won’t write anything else at all. I’m certain I’ll have times where I don’t feel like working on the book, occasional bouts of writer’s block, or just need to step back and do something else for a few days, and I’ll put up a surprise chapter now and then on one of my series. It just means that I gotta ask you guys to be willing to be patient while I take some time to actually publish, and won’t be putting out nearly as much fanfiction content for a little while. It’s not gonna be terribly soon. I have a lot I need to work on before I get to the point where I’ll feel okay putting my series on hold. I wouldn’t feel right about leaving everyone hanging. I will NOT be putting the blogs on hiatus. There are a lot of hours in my days, and no way I could spend all of them writing. The blogs will remain as active as you guys wanna make them. In fact, I’d be bored and kinda bummed if people stopped sending in Asks and stuff because they thought it’d interrupt me. This is probably a couple of months in the future, but I wanted to let all of you know, rather than spring it on you at the last minute.

I guess I’d also like to hear from you whether you think it’s worth doing, and if you’d be interested to read original content from me on kindle, which is the e-publisher I plan to choose. Cause if there’s honestly just not any interest, I don’t want to waste my time. And before anyone asks, yes, of course it’ll be the same sort of stories I’ve always written!

Have you ever used your safewords?

Clint: I have. I’ve used yellow a couple of times just from stuff like a leg cramp or whatever. Phil’s got kind of a thing for making me show off how bendy I can be, and we…um…sometimes go to the acrobatics gym late at night and he’ll order it closed to anyone else. I dunno what it is, but he seems to find it sorta inspiring to make me show off what I can do for him, and sometimes I’ll get tired. But I’ve only used red once. It wasn’t his fault. I knew he liked to do certain kinds of sensation play while his partner’s blindfolded, and I wanted to be able to do it for him. But I had an….experience…on a mission where Tash and I were in Korea and I got captured….well, let’s just say the guys who got me weren’t real sweethearts. I’ve got a few neat scars to show for it. They’d tied a blindfold on me with this old rag, really tight. It was on there for a couple of days before I could get rescued, and it was pretty nasty, and sometimes at first they’d take it off so they could try to scare me by lettin’ me see what they were about to do, and then put it back on. Some of the cuts where they messed my face up got infected by who knows what was on that rag, and it was fuckin’ stuck to me like damn cement. Took Phil a long time to get it off, and it hurt like hell even though he was careful. That was when he was still my handler, not my Master. I’ve hated blindfolds since then. But I wanted to try, cause it was him and I knew I didn’t have anything to be scared of. *shrugs* Flashbacks don’t always care that you’re actually safe. Maybe we’ll try again someday, who knows. He wasn’t mad, or disappointed or anything. Said he was proud of me for using it. 

Bucky: *sighs*I use mine a lot. There’s still so fucking much I don’t remember, so we never know if something’s gonna trigger a memory, and when it does, I have to stop. Not cause I get scared, but cause I’m afraid I’m gonna get angry, and I don’t want that in the bedroom with us. This stuff….BDSM…it’s helping me in a lot of ways, and I want to keep it that way. Steve, he….he made it a rule that I have to let him know every time something he does brings a memory, or even a feeling, from the time I don’t remember. From when Hydra made me a monster.

Steve: Buck.

Bucky: *sighs again* From the things Hydra did to me. Sorry. I didn’t like it, but he won’t play unless I keep the promise. So I do.

Commissions

If you’re interested in commissioning a story, please let me know! I’ve debated long and hard about setting prices, not because I have issues with charging about what most people do for story commissions, but because I am truly terrible at limiting myself to a certain number of words. When a story needs to be told a certain way, I like to be able to tell it the way it wants to be told. I’ve never even managed to write a drabble under a thousand words, so truly SHORT stories seem to be outside my literary range.  What I’m posting below are basic prices. If I go over by a few words, I’m not going to push your commission into the next price bracket after we’ve agreed on a price. However, please bear in mind that there may need to be some discussion about what you want out of a story and whether or not I feel I can do it justice within the price range you’d like to pay.

Here are the prices!

1,000 - 2,000 words:  $10

Over 2,000 - 4,000 words:  $15-20

Over 4,000 - 6,000 words:   $25-35

Over 6,000 - 8,000 words:   $40-50

Over 8,000 - 10,000 words:   $55-65

Over 10,000 words and up, basically meaning you don’t want a word limit on the story and just want me to write it as long as I want will run from $75 -100 depending on how long it actually ends up being, but I’ll make an educated estimate once I’ve thought out the story in my head (I don’t do actual outlines, the stories just sort of spring to life as whole beings in my brain and wait for me to let them out), I’ll quote to a price and stick to it.

That will be true of every commission. Once we’ve agreed on a price, you won’t pay more for your finished product even if it runs a little long. I’m a woman of my word, and I stick to it.  You’ll get what you pay for or more, never less, and you’ll get nothing less than my best work for your money.

Hellooo, I hope you're feeling a bit better. I was wondering if anyone ever felt scared of their partner during a scene? Particularly thinking Pepper because Tony seems a bit erratic with what he wants

Pepper: I don’t think that scared is exactly the right term. Well, to be honest I am terrified sometimes. But not of Tony. I worry about messing up. I’m still awfully new to this, and Tony isn’t always the best communicator in the world. *laughs wryly* So I’m afraid I’m going to do something he hates, or make him feel bad. I’ve been doing a lot of research, and I talk to Phil a lot. That helps. He’s such a wise man, and he’s been doing this a lot longer than any of the rest of us. My main concern is that I always want the scenes between Tony and I to be things that make him feel better, that help him, not hurt him. *grins* Well, not harm him.

Wanda: Like Pepper, I’m not scared of Scott. But I do worry a bit sometimes too. He said once that I can do anything to him that I want. On one hand, that’s…very flattering. But I wonder if he’ll tell me if he doesn’t like something. 

Bruce: I’m more afraid for Darcy, rather than of her. I don’t think I’ll ever stop worrying about The Other Guy showing up and ruining everything.

Author: Hooray! My new laptop is officially here! I’m also feeling considerably better. Still a bit tired and have a bit of a cough, but considering where I was, it’s a vast improvement. I’m going to start playing catch-up. I have a LOT of it to do, so I’m going to ask you all to be patient with me as I work my way through everything on my list. There are commissions to finish, Asks to answer, roleplays to continue, and regular story series to update. Phew. Obviously if you’ve commissioned a story, you will be my main priority. I won’t know until I start writing how my stamina’s going to be, so I’m going to ease back into it and see how it goes. Update

So first of all, I’ll say a heartfelt thank you yet again to everyone who has helped with providing funds to help cover KiKi’s tests. We’re getting close, but there’s still a little time left. And we’re getting financially closer too. If the fundrasing effort doesn’t pay off, it may be possible to reschedule a few weeks to give me some more time, but I’d really hate to have to, just because getting answers is so important for getting her the right treatment. We’ve got to get an MRI, a bunch of physical tests, blood work, a battery of cognitive tests to see if and how much her brain is affected. She does have insurance, but these tests come out of their deductible, not their co-pay, and at this point that amount stands at $560. 

Through your amazing support, I’ve been able to save up just over half of that amount! I will never be able to express how much that means to me. It was honestly so unexpected. So cool!

So for Mother’s Day this year, my girl designed and helped in the creation of several new toys for our collection. She is, as some of you know, a brilliant seamstress. She is the Sewing Lab captain at a local artisans guild where members of the community can go and learn various different crafts from sewing to electrical work, graphic design, woodwork, 3d printing, ceramics, etc. I was so proud of her when she got promoted to captain. 

Well, it turned out that the woodworking captain really enjoyed helping her make the paddles, and so I now have a Master woodworker who is thrilled to offer my personal, custom design for you to purchase. These paddles are seriously high quality, not to mention works of art in their own right. They’re made of hand-cut maple, which is a hard wood, and I can tell you they pack quite a wallop. KiKi can take a lot, but this thing made her sit up and take notice. Of course, as with most toys, you can control the amount of force you put behind your swing.

They are about 18 inches long including the handle, which is a beautifully rounded, smooth and comfortable fit in your hand. 31 small holes drilled throughout the surface cut down on wind resistance without endangering the integrity of the wood. Each is sanded, varnished and polished to a satin finish, and on the handle there is a beautiful carving engraved with twin BDSM symbols. These are identical to the one in my own collection, and we’re offering them for sale for $40 plus shipping, the type of which I’ll let you choose. Author: Hi my loves. First of all, I want to apologize for the radio silence. I hit a bad case of writer’s block, mostly due to another bout of insomnia which tends to make me sort of a zombie, and I’ve learned that the best way to deal with it is to just step back and leave it alone and it will pass sooner. Plus there’s been some stress on the homefront. KiKi’s tests are coming up soon, and we’re still short close to $200. The new puppy is a handful. He’s adorable and scary smart, but his breed is very independent, and that makes them both easy and virtually impossible to train at the same time. KiKi and Lee have been out of town a lot lately, and being home alone when I wish I could be with them tends to bum me out a little. On top of that, Lee’s come down with mono and seeing your baby (even if they’re almost 21) that badly sick is no fun at all. I hate sounding like a downer, and I do NOT mean to dump it on you guys, because you’re all so amazing and awesome. I honestly only mean to give you an explanation.

But the itch to write is starting to come back, yay. And I have been able to put out a few things recently. Hope you all saw chapter 2 of For a Day. I hope to have the next part up soon. Also working on my Voltron and Blood Bank fics, which have had recent updates, though they took a long time to write. I just haven’t even had my computer on the past 5 days or so. But, hooray, it called to me today, so hopefully I’ll be getting some more stuff done.

If anyone has a commission in mind they’d like to see, please do let me know, as we’re just shy of 2 weeks away from the medical tests and not sure yet we’ll be able to pay for them. I love your characterization of Clint. So many people write him as a kinda comedic relief idiot character but your clint is just great

Author: Thank you so much! I definitely think that Clint is something of a joker, but at least some of that is to cover his insecurities coming from his background as an orphan from an abusive home (this is comic canon, and not yet mentioned much in the movieverse), though I also feel he has an amazing sense of humor. He’s one of my top two or three favorite characters to write about, because I identify with him very strongly when it comes to the kink aspect. I’m so gratified to hear that someone else approves. My sub accepts my Clint as canon and refuses to acknowledge anything about him in the movies that contradict my version. Heh.

Now that the group is a little bigger will there be another camping trip in the future? (To the author: I still love that part with Thor and bear. It still makes me laugh from time to time.)

Clint: *laughs*  Y’know, that actually sounds like it’d be fun, for most of us. The cabin we stayed in before had two unused bedrooms, plus sleeping space on one sleeper sofa, a huge sectional and another regular sofa….and there was a lot of floor space. Course, there are even bigger places up there, that can sleep like 12 people and more. I think I might kinda prefer to keep Hawk’s Nest private, since it’s got kinda a special meaning for some of us.

I’m….pretty sure a group camping trip with more of us would probably have a really different feel than the first one. We really do try not to make Cap feel left out when we can help it, and I honestly have no idea where some of the others stand on some of the stuff we….er….do. But a getaway? Hell yeah. We could call it a team-building exercise!

Author: At this point I am answering general questions from the points of view of mainly the characters I’ve already written about, because I have more of a feel for them in my own ‘Verse and have built additional character development for them outside what exists in the Movieverse, but I am more than happy to answer questions for any and all characters, as I’ve literally seen all the movies multiple times (I may possibly have a lot of the original Iron Man movies, the first Thor movie and the original Avengers and Age of Ultron almost memorized at this point). I have a side story I’ve promised to write for Steve to get him into modern, healthy consensual BDSM, which will be set in a time before Bucky joins the team, but tbh I ship them too.

What's everyone's favorite musical genres? And which songs would best describe your favorite type of scenes?

Tony: Well, obviously I like easy listening the best. 

Pepper: *rolls her eyes* Tony, everyone knows you’re addicted to classic heavy metal.

Tony: Well yeah. That’s why I said that. Metallica is great for scening. 

Clint: I like a lot of stuff, but thrash metal is my favorite scene music. Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails are kickass scene music, because I like to play hard, whether I’m topping or bottoming. I love 80′s music to just listen to though.

Phil: I have widely varied tastes, from classical to jazz to classic rock to interesting international genres. I especially like Celtic music. But music to listen to for enoyment and good music to play to are often quite different. I usually let Clint choose the music he wants, because having him be in a good headspace is important to me.

Thor: Midgardian music is very different from the music we have on Asgard. There are so many kinds! I do not think I have a favorite. Jane and I do not usually put on music when we play, because it is almost always rather impromptu, and neither of us wishes to take the time to stop to make a music selection.

Natasha: I don’t think I have a favorite kind of music. Most of my life, I’ve had to be some kind of persona, depending on my assignment, and each of them had their own taste in music. Clint’s music works for me to scene with though.

Bruce: I tend to listen to music that soothes me. Most of my life is about science, and maintaining my cool. Darcy and I haven’t one enough of what I’d say qualifies as full-blown play scenes to really delve into musical accompaniment yet. But if she wants music, I’m going to be fine with letting her pick it.

Darcy: I like seriously all kinds of music. I’m a huge fan of Panic at the Disco. But I like all kinds of stuff. In my car, I sometimes sing along to my favorite Broadway showtunes. I love Wicked, and Les Mis, and Phantom. I think I’d pick some cool Goth stuff to scene to though.
