I recently uncovered an old (from February) unfinished wip of Yuri and Momoka I thought id share! The concept was later regurgitated into this drawing.

Small little yap..

One thing I’ve always loved about Momoka is that despite being the girl who has the power to change fate and save everyone, she’s also a child herself and doesn’t fully grasp the consequences of her actions. The show constantly reiterates how it’s impossible to save everyone, and it’s reflected in how Yuri and Tabuki, even though Momoka had saved them from their abuse, ended up all alone after her disappearance and it prevented them from living their lives normally. It’s not her fault, I totally understand wanting to prevent a subway from exploding! She’s just naturally so selfless that she doesn’t understand that importance that her presence had on the two of them.

I might start putting more of my penguindrum thoughts on tumblr because as far as I know it’s the only site I’m on with an actual fanbase for it and also I just really want to get my thoughts on the series out there
