They could have things done the right way, but with Dedede he has a habit to ruin the elegance with his hasty attitude and thinking everyone is on to him.

Wanted to post my Kirby Right Back At Ya: Star Warrior AU.

It's like a season two but Dedede becomes allies with Kirby much like the games, but he's still a jerk at times. He has a cape now to be matchy with Meta Knight.

Meta Knight fights the best he can as an aged Warrior. He reveals he has the ability of flight much to everyone's surprise.

The Waddle twins of Bandana and Sailor Dee are apart of the team.

Sirica reluctantly joins the Warriors but is more of a 'comes to aid' type.

Meta Knight wasn't there when Dark Matter took control of Dedede for a few games. Meta's been to war but seeing his lover split open is a new one even for him.

It's a Sunday for Kirby and Dedede however.

What if Bandana and Sailor were fraternal twins. And Sailor comes to shore every six months to spend with her family?

And they share a single brain cell at times.

I don't normally draw waddles because they comes out so funny shaped. But I'm learning their complex pear shape.

I wanted to give more steampunk to the Kirby Dreamy Gears outfits. I loved Dedede's concept but felt he needed some chain glasses, more leather and more buttons.

When is this going to be a game? Kirby meets Bioshock Infinite.

I'm saddened to find that @cogsandgadgetry-deactivated2025 has left Tumblr and Deviantart and deactivated all accounts. They were fun to have conversations with on Inspector Gadget and took things in a different light of viewing. And I enjoyed their art as well.

This came from no doubt from those online here and DA sending them spam messages and getting upset with them when they didn't draw something that someone didn't like, or the lack of drawing a certain character.

It's disappointing to say at least that someone pushed a blog so far to delete all traces of themselves.

Brain wasn't honestly needed in the 2015 reboot.

Gadgetinis showed us we can have a show without him, say for the one episode he showed up and was just some Woody Alan sounding freak in the Gadgetinis.

Myself in the other side of the series fans, I did not for the life of me enjoy the main plot of Penny and Talon as characters and as a forced romance. Gadget became the subplot to his own show.

I mute it every time Penny shows up in 2015. She just has too much of the same character as Tara Strong just keeps Twilight Sparkles attitude for Penny. The know it all over achiever who learns nothing, especially in the 2015 version. Penny learns nothing, she gains nothings and gives nothing.

I watched an episode before they took it off Netflix this month, and after not seeing the show since December of last year and forgot how much I don't like they pushed Gadget to the back. Going so far as to mute him as he is literally talking to focus on Penny who is having an aside with Brain and the most she ever says is 'Talon'.

I need someone to do a count of how many times she says his name because it's probably more times than Gadget's entire script lines combined.

For what it's worth, between Inspector Gadget (1983), Gadget and the Gadgetinis, and the 2015 reboot, it feels like even the showrunners aren’t sure what Inspector Gadget wants to be.

The basic premise: "an inept detective sent on missions while Penny and Brain secretly do all the real work" it always has always had potential. But by the 2015 series, Penny had taken over so much of the plot that Gadget himself was pretty much overshadowed.

The inconsistency is jarring. Sometimes Gadget is a total buffoon, other times he shows surprising competence. The formula keeps shifting, and part of the problem might be that fans have wildly different ideas about what they want from Inspector Gadget.

"Is it a slapstick comedy? A light spy parody? A kid-led adventure? The series has never quite settled on a balance, and it shows."

People do like it when Gadget is a bumbling detective, that’s the charm. But I’ve read plenty of frustration from fans, too. The lack of real resolution in episodes and the repetitive formula have made some question: "Was DIC Entertainment ever really that good?" Sure, it had its moments. But let’s not forget Andy Heyward, who helped create the show, originally worked at Hanna-Barbera and that might explain why Inspector Gadget wasn’t written like Ulysses 31.

Then again, the French-Japanese collaboration Ulysses 31 received far better reviews than most French-American productions. Or I'm not reading enough reviews...

That’s the thing "should Penny overshadow Gadget?" We saw what happened when DHX Media went down that road. Depending on which fan you ask, they’ll hyperfocus on the Penny x Talon subplot and completely forget about Inspector Gadget himself. Meanwhile, no one seems interested in deepening the lore, fleshing out character backstories, or even showing a basic respect for the source material.

Maybe that’s the real issue: was it ever a good idea to have Penny and Brain do all the work for Gadget in the first place? It made for a fun dynamic back then, but maybe that imbalance is exactly why the franchise struggles today. If the basic formula never really gave Gadget room to grow or contribute to the series, is it any wonder newer versions can’t seem to find the right balance?

Or for better word: if the main character is supposed to be the hero, but he's always sidelined by more the more competent characters, what does that do to the structure of the show?

I got a KRBAY metadede question, during the time they aren't public with their 'situationship' how would they deal with one of them getting flirted with and unable to basically go 'hey he's mine back off!' without literally revealing everything

King Dedede

King Dedede would be the absolute seething with anger and jealousy at the sight of anyone coming on or hitting on Meta Knight.

He'd use alot of aggressive language to show that he knows that Meta Knight is the best.

He'd be passive aggressive to hold back revealing too much. (much like the episode Escargoon acts like king and he plays along but wants to break skulls)

But he'd always be checking in on the one who flirted with Meta.

Until the end he'd just want to order a monster to get rid of the person.

He'd turn stalker and keep following and showing up behind the person who flirted on Dedede.

He'd try to show he's better than anyone else who ever would try to take his place.

His tone would be filled with so much disdain and hate.

They've been dating for years and still have worry.

Dedede would be just nervous and sweaty being anxious.

Meta Knight is an extreme panicking mess. (he wears the same thing regardless)
