The Psychology of School Shooters
What could cause a child the desire to murder their classmates in cold-blood? Which factors lead violent adolescents to commit these horrific and bewildering crimes? Psychologists Mark Leary, Robin Kowalski, Laura Smith, and Stephen Phillips conducted a study on fifteen school shooters to help answer some of the most difficult questions posed to criminologists: “why?”
The psychologists discovered that the biggest inciting factor in triggering a school shooting was peer rejection. The offenders experienced a constant on-slot of teasing, bullying, and ostracism from their peers. In addition, psychological problems can be a prompt for gun violence in school. The problems are centered around low impulse control, lack of empathy, serious depression, aggressiveness, and antisocial behavior.
Verbal abuse from bullies could be an inciting factor as well. If peers are telling someone they are a freak or a weirdo, the victim will start to believe that. Teenagers are in constant search for a sense of self and understanding of who they are. Some may begin to fully embrace their identity that was given to them as a social outcast, believing themselves to be martyrs of the nonconforming youth. When belligerently labeled as a social deviant, some teenagers may latch onto this identity. This is considered the social-reaction theory of criminology. It basically attests that when labeled as bad or anti-social, people will fulfill the proclaimed prophecies put upon them; i.e. engaging in antisocial and criminal acts.

SERIAL KILLERS ARE PEOPLE TOO. THEY HAVE PROBLEMS TOO. (yes they fucked up to an extreme level but they're still human beings)

« I see Ted as a very lonely and very insecure person. In jail he had his own credit card and so he called various people. When he called me and I talked to him on the phone after he escaped and got put in jail, if you listen to that it’s much like a son calling his father and saying, « Hey dad, I had this baseball game » and tells him all about the game. I think Ted was a lonely person. He went out with girls and made love to them, but Ted had a very difficult time being alone. He needed people who could admire him, but I think what he needed — although he couldn’t get it because he couldn’t reveal himself — he needed people to understand him. » - Al Carlisle

Alllll righttttt look. Let's say trump gets a bill passed making firearms illegal. Can people honestly be so naive to think that every gun will just go bye bye? Fuck no. Take every drug in America, highly illegal. Yet there are millions of users every year. So stop bitching about something you'll never change or get the chance to. Go where you can learn something instead of walk out of class. No wonder people are so ignorant.

We got this new foreign exchange student in my psychology class today and when he walked in he goes (in a thick Japanese accent) "Excuse me, is this the psychology class?" But he pronounced psychology "pus-kology" and I about lost it

Statements like this make you pity such miraculous men, makes you realize how twisted they are but also that they too are human beings. Punishment is absolutely necessary yes but they still deserve remorse and compassion. Or at least I believe so.

“I wanted a nice-looking guy without having to hurt anyone”
“I wanted to induce a zombie-like state to make them pliable, obey my wishes, so they would be permanent, always with me, never leave my apartment (…) If they had their own thought processes, they might remember they had to leave, or lived somewhere else”
-Statements made by Jeffrey Dahmer to Dr. Carl Wahlstrom, a forensic psychiatrist who evaluated him.
