Jam 24 - Dark Kalimba Lo-fi Beats. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍭👻👾👹🖤🧞🕸🔮👽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The pocket operators (PO-33 and PO-12) have different length pattern chains to mix up the backing track (a sampled African Kalimba thumb instrument is the main backing riff). Then the OP-Z acts as the master clock and melodies, with additional percussion tracks all being processed further through the Bastl Instruments Thyme. No.22 Crunchy, downbeat, percussive live jam. ☮ Uses two synced Pocket Operators, a PO-33 K.O! (with some FX’d up samples plugged into a 24 pattern chain), and a PO-12 Rhythm to provide a cycling downtempo percussive, messed up breakbeat. Some controlled havoc is wrought by the Bastl Instruments Thyme to add a wide and varied range of textures and tape delays. We’ve got the OP-Z providing a contrasting synth sound with LFO’d internal delay and a long attack. Jam 17 #Jamuary2020 sampled some short riffs with the PO-33 (played on an upright Yamaha piano), combined with some heavily slowed drum and percussion hit samples on the OP-Z. Live recorded an improvised synth line using the Arturia Keystep to give more dynamic control over the OP-Z synth.
