Can people from the United States stop making jokes about “WW3 😜”….there are people in Iran evacuating their neighborhoods, places they grew up, and all YOU are experiencing is watching the news and a few TikToks….
You are not at war, you will most likely never see war, and if your “dark humor” is coming at the expense of others then it is not dark humor, you’re just an asshole.

I am actually very sad they didn’t unfridge Jess and do a Mary-style reassessment, because based on Sam’s taste in women ever afterwards she must have been an absolute mad bastard. a total psycho killer. just looney tunes forever.
#The joy of my Jessifer fic is how Sam is just. So well primed to do the devil's bidding. If she's in a pretty girl that bakes Sam cookies.#But canonically Sam was ready to propose to Jessica when they hadn't even been together for a year. Disregarding that boy's problems-#Jess must've been tickling his emotional needs for an unhinged dom in ways that demons and witches just can't match. A YEAR.#Bring Jess back and she's gonna use her vague medical major that put her in Brady's sphere to dissect monsters. Blood under her nails alway#They shoot a ghoul and Jess is immediately sticking her hands in it. Holds pieces out for Sam to hold for her. He does ofc.#Dean gets annoyed and decides he hates Jess when he sees that she's a real person who has a relationship with His Sam. And Jess poisons him#Just a little! Super mild potassium spike. He'll appreciate her more when she's comforting him in what he thinks is a heart attack.

I was thinking about your post about how incest is especially important to queer people because of the whole intimacy that isn't allowed thing because I went to see Rocky horror again and I do think it's interesting that the story whose entire point is "oh, you think we're all monsters who are going to corrupt the perfect pure heterosexuals? Awesome. I'm going to make a story where we are in fact evil monsters who do exactly that, and we also look awesome and have more fun than you could ever dream of and the heterosexuals do indeed discover new parts of themselves and are fundamentally changed" not only has the inhabitants of the castle crossdressing and having lots of both queer and ""straight"" sex, but also doing incest. Richard O'Brien clearly also gets the link
yeah!!!!! and that's why rocky horror is important. to me, but also to so so many queer people. that's why queer people gravitate towards fantasies about the forbidden, the taboo, the maybe-a-little-bit-evil. because being queer is fucking exhausting, and don't you just want to go apeshit! or, to put it a little more delicately, when people have spent their entire lives mired in the message that everything they are is rotten and wrong, they can either choose to keep presenting themselves as palatable as possible to a society that will continue to degrade them no matter how much of themselves they cut off, or we can all embrace that identity to the fullest and in doing so, reveal how much of a sham that claiming it's all monstrous really is. and we only get to have fun in one of these options.
sorry askdjalkjsd i just, i think a lot about this. we're in a weird position with queerness in media nowadays, right? where it's finally... sort of acceptable, a little bit okay, so long as it isn't too outrageous or in too many people's faces. which is, to be clear, a good change. but it also leaves us with a very long, very complicated, but also very beautiful history of people finding themselves in less polished places. i think about the people who say we should all hate rocky horror picture show because it's transphobic, and i think about how many trans people for decades have found freedom in performing alongside and seeing the movie. i think about that controversy a bit back where some spn fans started decrying that any claims of sam's queercoding that related back to his demon blood were homophobic because it related his potential queerness to something dirty, and how I as a queer person have always found that reading of the demon blood storyline to be so intensely cathartic specifically because of how relentlessly he's punished for being Wrong despite it not being in his control.
For better or worse in most media, until very recently, to be queer was to be monstrous. the sea witch stealing a woman's voice to trick a man into marrying her. the obsessive housemaid caressing her late lady's underwear. effeminate freaks and dirty sinners. and I've seen a backlash to how queer people, mostly older queer people, relate to that media, because it's Problematic. because we "have better representation now". because if you refuse to separate yourself from your history of being the monster, you're a lot harder to dress up as respectable.
I really do think that's bullshit. I think that now more than ever, we need our history. Glorious and ugly. I think it's naive to pretend we can cut a dividing line between Good Queer Rep and Bad Queer Rep. We need to carry this forward with us or else risk being convinced that we can laugh at other people who need our help for being freaks. And we need it because RHPS fucks hard. obviously.
AND ANYWAY. bringing this back to incest before i get fully lost in the tangent. modern queerness is tied to and contrasted against the ideal of the family. american nuclear families, specifically. queerness is a threat to stability, a threat to individual family members by luring them away. and that, too, is an important part of our history. both the perception of queer people as that threat, and the way that queer people have turned family into something they can own. think family reinvented to mean a group of disowned and disempowered queers looking after each other. think the terms we associate with queer communities: leather daddies! drag mothers!
that's not like. anything to do with incest kink. but it's to do with the point i'm making that in the absence or specifically in opposition to the traditional family, queer people reinvent the terms and roles. and now to actually relate it back to incest kink, if you take one side (our perceived threat to family) and the other (family is a construct that we have the power to define to make us safe and cared for), then like. yeah. obviously. queer people are gonna be into incest kink shit. the forbidden love, feeling like something's wrong with you, like you're the threat inside your own family, like you want what you feel to be good even as you're told it isn't. or to own it, to tear down the family structure from the inside out because you embrace being wrong, that's an understandable desire too.
and like. also it's hot. obviously.
it's all connected, is what i'm saying, i think. everything forbidden and nasty and villainous and awful; that's the reality of how queerness is perceived. it's gay marriage getting legalized and pundits saying bestiality is next and then everyone getting mad at furries about it, you know? we can find ourselves in exaggerated, unrespectable representations of queerness. or we can try to bury them and say we'd never be like that. we're gonna get accused of shit either way. call your lover your brother, and do a fucking musical number.

Jess knew the exact day that it happened. When she went to bed on November second, 2005, everything was fine. On the morning of November third, she woke up dead. Everything stayed the same. She still showed up to her classes. Her grades didn’t fall. At work, she went through all the motions of stocking shelves and checking out customers. Sam proposed that year in a cute little Italian restaurant that looked out over the bay. She got into UC Law San Francisco. It was just that Jess was hollow. It was like somewhere along the line, she put herself down and forgot to pick it back up. There was only a shred of her left, haunting an empty husk.
If She Had Lived
2.2k, POV Jessica Moore, Sam/Jess, Jess/OC, Jessica Moore Lives, Depersonalization-Derealization Disorder
I think this came out really interesting and well, and also it's deeply personal to me as someone who has lived with constant dissociation for a good five years. Testosterone has made it a lot better, but it isn't completely gone. It's very fun to fictionalize your real-life experience into a dubiously supernatural disorder.
