hiiii, I’m Natalie (she/her). I like to draw! This is where I post my art, but it’s also just my main blog. I tag all my art as either “my art” or “doodles." Don't count on me to tag gore and other horror content.

have you seen robot dreams? that’s an animated film that’s a little more mature (pg-13) in its themes and content. really cute!
I haven’t but I’ve heard of it and been meaning to!! This just made me realize I think there was a screening I was considering going to that I missed. Whoops lol

i am fairly certain that I won’t even slightly enjoy that movie about the dog getting his balls cut off but i am going to watch it because I think its really neat that it’s a 2d animated film with an original story aimed at adults with art direction that isn’t completely repulsive

In regards to your pedestal memory post, I agree completely. This is especially because I live away from my family, and my partners family who do live close have forgotten my birthday the past couple years. I don't like parties or big events, but every birthday I like to try to use those birthday coupons and such because it makes me feel like holidays in sims, where there are specific tasks or choices that mark a holiday. This past year I wasn't able to use my free starbucks drink because the locations around me closed before my partner (who works night shift and wakes up before dinner) and I could get there; I ended up crying over it and felt really silly, because it's just something small but it meant so much at the same time. Around Christmas, my pedestal moment is driving around to look at lights, even though less and less people do lights where I live.
Aw, I’m sorry. Those both sound like nice low-key traditions to have (I love your comparison to the sims) and yeah it really just sucks when something goes wrong, even if it’s more sentimental than material.
I think I’d feel the same way if I were in that situation. I think it can just be very easy sometimes to assign meaning to things and then get hurt by a perceived failure, in the same way it’s easy to draw a smiley face on a plastic spoon and then get sad when it’s snapped in half. But seeing meaning in little things can be so important for happiness too. It’s a balancing act I guess I haven’t figured out yet

there are plenty of people who are more vulnerable to getting sad on their birthday and I guess the most obvious reason is that they feel melancholy about where they are in life. But when I get sad on my birthday its for a reason I never see anyone talk about and that’s probably because it’s very silly but I’m curious whether anyone relates.
So like, I have gotten coffee many times in my life. I do not remember them all. But if I were to get coffee on my 21st birthday, it would become Something I Did on my 21st birthday. It’s like that for other holidays and important events too. I call them pedestal memories cause it’s like they’re put on more visible display just by virtue of when they happened. So I don’t need something super special to happen on my birthday, but I hate it when pedestal memories are actively bad. Ironically, that sometimes makes things even worse because after the initial upsetting thing I get even more upset thinking about how I fucked up my pedestal memory. I don’t know. My brain is bad I don’t recommend it

new york city followers: any bar recs in manhattan? I’ll consider every suggestion but particularly interested in places with interesting ambiance/a gimmick/unique or novelty drinks. Obviously this means touristy is welcome but preferably not like, rockefeller christmas tree levels of crowded

I watched an snl sketch on youtube about a guy who feels very guilty about winning a game show because he realizes his opponent wants to use the prize money to pay for her daughter’s surgery and i saw a few comments saying stuff like “I like to imagine he’d pay for her surgery afterwards :)” and I find something about that very sweet

its hard being such a tiny adn petite assassin I couldn’t reach the window and my weak arms couldn’t hold a rifle but I’m so frail when I fired my pistol the kickback sent me flying into a woman’s handbag and everyone thought I was a purse dog and when she turned me in to the authorities my dainty wrists kept slipping through the handcuffs and they had to give me a booster seat for the electric chair

In the costume post you just made, where’s that from?? I’ve seen the person on the left in the wig all the time as others profile pictures but have no clue where it’s from
A Saturday Night Live sketch titled “New Girlfriend” on YouTube. The character in the wig (Regine) is played by Fred Armisen
