WHAT CAMERA SHOULD I BUY?
WHAT CAMERA SHOULD I BUY? Some people have come up to me and at me what type of camera should I use? Or any answer I always use is,well, what is your budget? What are you looking to shoot? And are you a novice or professional? These questions determine exactly what type of camera you should go out and buy. If you're only looking to take pictures on vacations and graduation events, you should get yourself a point-and-shoot. These cameras can cost you anywhere from $150 up to about $350. I personally train my students on a Nikon D5200 before I bring them up to the DSLRs. This of course is the novice level. These are people who just point the camera and shoot. You're not working with any aperture, shutter or finagling the camera in anyway. Most likely each person will be stuck on auto. Now if you're an amateur learner and you want to go over novice, then you should invest any DSLR camera. You should already be familiar with the point-and-shoot camera. So the next level is basically bringing yourself up to a DSLR. You have your lower entry cameras which I just calling glorified point-and-shoot but gives you more options. For example, the Nikon L 820 or the Nikon P 520. And I can't Elwood bring you about $215 which has a grip on the side of the camera which allows you to hold it correctly. And a Nikon P will run you about $375 with tax which also has a hand grip to study your camera. I call them glorified point shooters because if he do not have detached lenses. It comes lens built in. It most likely has optical zoom and digital zoom and goes from a 3.5 to a 22 in f-stops. Now if you are a starter amateur photographer in classes or anything else like that, then you're onto the next level which is your mid range cameras for starters. These midrange camera so most likely Be DSLR cameras. These are your Canon rebels. Your Nikon D 7100,your Nikon D 90, D3100, D 3200, D 5200 and etc. These cameras give you more options, detachable lenses, better photo quality, and more control over your photos. They also have more megapixels. It's megapixels important? That's for another debate tomorrow. They are also bigger and heavier cameras. Which is better for holding steady when taking a photo. These cameras will run you anywhere from $450 to almost $2000. These cameras will also give you the option of having a hot shoe to run a speed light or a photo studio. And now we're coming into the big boys. This is for those professional photographers who are already where they need to be. Only thing you're doing is updating or moving to their next camera. They most likely will need full frame cameras. Faster shots per second. More clarity in your photos. These are your Nikon D 610, Nikon D 800, Nikon D 880, Nikon D4 and Canon Mark series. What full frame basically means is extra feet on the edge of the photo that you could not get with your normal cameras. The are no auto setting mode on the cameras. And the have more focusing point inside their viewfinders. These camera have bigger processors. And can take almost any lens given to them. The have higher rate of sync time when it come to off camera strobe light shooting (studio stuff). They have a bigger pallet of color and are often more vibrant and sharper. Finally they shoot in JPEG, RAW, TIFF and NEF. These are the do it all heavy duty bad boys of the group. The bank better be full cause these cameras are going to run you. Expect to pay anywhere from $2000 to $10000. So when your purchasing a camera, remember these questions. What am I shooting? What is my budget? How many times a year am I taking photos? Is this to high maintenance for me? Cause if your only taking photos of the family on vacation or you need a camera for little JOHNNY's graduate then you have no business getting a nikon d800e or Canon mark 7. BTW moment, smartphones and tablet don't do the same job. If you have any questions for this or maybe you have other camera related question that would make a great discussion panel, just ask.

Casting Call for female models in the NYC area
I'm doing an online blog 2 times a month called Vision. The ideal is to capture the real person visually and tell their story. If you live in the New York area and want some exposure ask or chat with me and we will see what we can do. These are not vixen shoots. They are art/ fashion shoots intended for just that. Should be 18 and older.
