Debut
Summary:Â Debut is on the way. and then the day arrives
Word Count:Â 1.7K
Warning(s):Â Trainee stress, Exhaustion, and Teasing
| Return to Masterlist | Return to Pre-Debut Chronicles |
The KQ practice room was quiet in a way that felt rare. Normally, the air was full of music, footsteps, and voices shouting over the rhythm. But tonight, only the low hum of the lights buzzed above her as Hwayoung sat against the mirrored wall, knees tucked to her chest, staring at her reflection.
It's one week away. After months of grueling rehearsals, evaluations, late-night practices, and endless bonding. Their debut stage was right there, close enough she could almost touch it, but still far enough to feel unreal.
The others were scattered around, Hongjoong and Mingi were still bent over their notebooks, Yunho and San collapsed on the floor after running the choreography six times in a row. Yeosang was quietly stretching in the corner, his expression unreadable. Even Wooyoung, usually a burst of uncontrollable energy, seemed calmer than usual, lying on his back and staring at the ceiling as if willing the nerves out of his body. Seonghwa and Jongho sat near Hwayoung providing support. Every now and then, Seonghwa would nudge her knee gently, a silent reminder that she wasnât alone.
Hwayoung exhaled slowly, letting her head fall back against the mirror. The eldest. She was supposed to be steady, the one with experience, but her chest felt tight. Sheâd never admit it out loud, but the thought of stepping onto that stage as an official member of a group made her pulse race.
Her phone buzzed against her bag. At first, she ignored it, thinking it was another reminder from the staff. But when the vibration came again, longer this time, she reached for it.
âJeonghanâ
Her thumb hovered over the screen before she accepted the call and slipped out into the hallway, pulling her hoodie tighter around her shoulders.
âYeoboseyo?â she whispered.
âYah, why do you sound like youâre sneaking around?â Jeonghanâs voice came through, warm and teasing, the way it always was when he wanted to make her laugh.
She huffed quietly. âBecause I am trying to be quietâ âAh, I see. Eldest trainee hiding away,â he said knowingly. Despite herself, she smiled. âYouâre annoying.â
âCorrect. But Iâm also your brother, so you canât get rid of me. Now tell me, how are you?â He asked
The question was rather simple, but it landed heavy. For a moment, she didnât answer, staring at the scuffed floor beneath her sneakers. The lump in her throat swelled before she managed, âTo be honest, oppa, I donât know.â
He didnât rush her. He never did. She could almost see him in her mind, him leaning against some practice room wall at Pledis, hair tucked behind one ear, that patient expression that made people underestimate how sharp he was.
âScared?â he asked quietly.
Her throat tightened. â...Yes. And excited. But mostly scared. What if I mess it up? What if I donât look strong enough? Theyâre all younger than me, oppa, and sometimes it feels like theyâre already ahead.â
On the other end, she heard him hum in thought. Then, with that frustratingly gentle tone only he could get away with, he said, âHwayoung-ah, being the eldest doesnât mean you have to be unshakable. It just means youâve walked a little further, so you can show them the way. Thatâs all.â
âThen you fall,â Jeonghan said simply. âAnd theyâll help you back up. Thatâs what a team does. You of all people should know, youâve been helping them back up for over a year now.â
She pressed her lips together, a shaky laugh escaping her. âYou always sound like youâre reading out of a fortune cookie.â
âI am comforting you,â he countered, that sly smile practically audible through the phone. âYou just donât like hearing the truth. But listen, Hwayoung-ah⌠nerves donât disappear. Even now, I still get them. The trick isnât to get rid of them, itâs to use them. Let them push you forward instead of freezing you. Youâve worked so hard,â Jeonghan continued, his voice softening. âIâve seen it, even from a distance, I can tell. Youâre not debuting alone. Youâve got seven kids who will lean on you, yes, but you can lean on them too. Do you understand?â
She pressed her forehead against the cool wall, eyes stinging. ââŚYeah. I understand.â
âGood. Now stop hiding in the hallway before they think you ran away,â he teased.
She sniffled, laughing quietly. âYouâre the worst.â
âAnd yet you still answer my calls.â
The warmth of his laughter lingered even after the line went quiet. She slipped her phone back into her pocket and pushed open the practice room door.
The others glanced up at her return, and she smiled faintly, small, but steady.
The practice room was just as she had left it â the buzz of the lights, the faint shuffle of sneakers, the soft scratch of Hongjoongâs pen across his notebook. But as soon as Hwayoung stepped back inside, the atmosphere shifted ever so slightly.
San lifted his head from the floor, his messy hair sticking out in every direction. âYah, noona, whereâd you disappear to?â
âBathroom,â she lied easily, tugging her hoodie sleeves over her hands.
Yeosang glanced up from his stretching, eyes sharp as always, but he didnât say anything. Instead, he tilted his head as if to study her, then nodded to himself and went back to adjusting his legs.
Wooyoung, sprawled on the floor, pointed at her dramatically. âDonât think you can run away before debut! If weâre suffering, youâre suffering with us!â His tone was exaggerated, but there was no bite to it, just that playful spark he couldnât turn off, even in exhaustion.
Hwayoung let out a breathy laugh, feeling lighter than she had minutes before. She dropped her bag beside the wall and slid down next to Seonghwa, who gave her a knowing look but didnât ask questions. Instead, he handed her his water bottle wordlessly.
âThanks,â she murmured, taking a sip.
Hongjoong finally looked up from his notes, his eyes scanning the room like a leader checking his teamâs condition. âBreakâs over in five,â he announced, his voice firm but not unkind. âWeâll run the set twice more tonight.â
Groans erupted in unison, but none of them argued. They all knew the stakes at hand.
Hwayoung wiped her face with her sleeve, then pulled herself up before anyone else moved. âCome on,â she said quietly, more to herself than them. âOne week.â
Yunho caught the words and smiled, his grin tired but genuine. âThatâs right. One week. Letâs make it count.â
And just like that, they were all on their feet again, music pulsing back into the air as if it had never stopped.
But inside, beneath the ache in her muscles and the fatigue in her bones, Hwayoung carried the sound of Jeonghanâs voice, a steady, teasing, warm voice to be a reminder that she wasnât doing this alone.
The week passed, the group was standing backstage of âM Countdownâ the lights of the stage beyond, casting a distant glow through the gaps. The hum of the crowd filtered through, a living pulse that made Hwayoungâs chest tighten in a way she couldnât fully control.
She adjusted her outfit, not uncomfortable but just fidgeting., her fingers trembling slightly despite months of preparation. Her reflection in the black backstage panels looked like someone else, poised, polished, ready, yet the nerves in her stomach reminded her she was still just Hwayoung, the eldest, trying not to falter.Â
Hongjoong was pacing nearby, muttering small reminders under his breath. He caught her glance and gave a curt nod. âStay sharp,â he said softly as a subtle anchor.
Seonghwa leaned against the wall beside her, silent but present. He caught her hand briefly and squeezed it, a quiet reassurance. âWeâve got this,â he murmured. His calm steadiness radiated through her like a steady current, and she let herself lean into it for just a second.
Yunho, impossibly energetic even now, bounced on the balls of his feet. âIâm ready to blow them away!â he whispered, more to himself than anyone else. San crouched nearby, stretching dramatically, muttering about last-minute choreography fixes. Mingi and Yeosang were quietly reviewing their notes, heads bent low, expressions unreadable but focused. Wooyoung was already halfway into the routine in his mind, hands moving subtly as he went through the motions silently. Jongho stood aside yeosang warming up his voice.Â
The stage manager appeared at the side. âTen seconds, everyone.â
Hongjoong straightened, motioning to the group. âPositions. Focus. One step at a time.â
Hwayoung swallowed and adjusted her stance, feet planted firmly. She felt the eyes of the members around her â not in judgment, but in shared determination. They arrived on the stage and the roar of the crowd hit like a wave, sudden and enormous. Her pulse quickened, and for a heartbeat, the panic whispered in her chest but she shook it off, remembering the mirrored walls of countless practice rooms, the early mornings with Wooyoung. With one last breath, she stepped forward and the lights of âM Countdownâ spilled over them, cameras blinking, fans cheering. And in that moment, all the hours of sweat, doubt, and effort funneled into motion.
Hwayoung moved as she had for months, every beat of the choreography etched into her muscle memory. The energy from the crowd intertwined with the rhythm, carrying them forward. Hongjoongâs commanding presence, Seonghwaâs steady eyes, Wooyoungâs fierce focus, Mingi and Yeosangâs precise movements, Yunhoâs bright energy, and Sanâs exaggerated flair, Jonghos, powerful vocals, and felt a warmth of belonging she hadnât allowed herself to fully feel before.
The song built to its climax, and Hwayoung pushed herself further, every movement sharp, every expression measured yet real. The spotlight caught her face, and for a fleeting moment, she let herself imagine her brother watching from home, proud, teasing, but always there.
As the final beat hit, they struck the last pose. The cheers of the crowd washed over them, deafening and electric. Hwayoungâs chest heaved, sweat dripping from her temple, but her heart soared. The debut was complete.
She glanced at the other members, faces shining, breaths heavy. Hongjoongâs small nod of approval, Seonghwaâs quiet smile, Wooyoungâs grin, it all confirmed what sheâd felt in the mirror countless times during practice: they had made it. Together.
And in that moment, Hwayoung allowed herself to feel it fully, the exhaustion, the fear, and above all, the triumph of finally stepping into the light as herself, not as someoneâs sister, but as Hwayoung, a part of something bigger than she had ever imagined.

WIthin a new rhythm
Summery:Â Hwayoung finds a rhythm in trainee life
Word Count:Â 1K
Warning(s):Â Trainee life struggles
| Return to Masterlist | Return to Pre-Debut Cronicles |
The snowy air made the walk to KQ longer than it truly was. She bundled up in her jacket and scarf as she made her way to the building. Once inside the warmth of the building flooded her, wrapping her like a blanket. The sound of music radiated through the building.Â
âThey must have gotten here first,â she spoke to herself. A smile appearing on her face
She walks to the practice room, water bottle and bag in hand. The familiar routine pulled her forward, swipe in, head to the locker room, change into practice clothes, and fill her water bottle. Every movement was automatic now, a muscle memory outside of dance.Â
By the time she made it to the practice room, the others were scattered and stretching. âMorning Noona,â Wooyoung said, enthusiastic as always. âMorningâ she replied with a smile before taking her spot by the mirror to begin stretching.Â
It became like this most days. The early arrival, the exchange of greetings, the steady build of their practice rutine. At first, she thought it would all blur together, an endless cycle of sweat and sore muscles, but instead it became something else, a rhythm. Not just in the music, but in the way they all fell into place, like different instruments in the same song.
It became like this most days. The early days, the quick but meaningfull exchange of greetings, the steady build of their practice sets. At first, she thought it would all blur together, an endless cycle of sweat and sore muscles, but instead it became something else, a rhythm. Not just in the music, but in the way they all fell into place, like different instruments in the same song.
The days were long. Morning practices stretched into afternoons, afternoons into some late nights. They drilled choreographies until they could feel them practically in their sleep. Hwayoung sometimes caught herself humming beats on the walk back to the dorm, fingers tapping against her thigh like she was still marking steps.
And yet, she wasnât drowning in it the way she once feared she would. There was something calming in the repetition. Wake up. Layer up against the cold. Walk to KQ. Change. Practice. Eat. Practice again. Collapse into bed. Repeat.
It wasnât easy, while her body ached constantly, her eyelids often heavy before the day was even half over, but it was simple. Predictable. She didnât have to think about what came next; it was already written into her body.
She realized, slowly, that rhythm was survival.
Hwayoung often found herself laughing despite fatigue, especially when Yunhoâs playful energy filled the room.
âYouâre too serious, Hwa, noona,â Yunho said one day, spinning halfway across the room during a break. âYou need to loosen up or your arms are going to get stuck!â
She smirked, adjusting her ponytail. âAnd risk tripping over you?â
He grinned, exaggeratedly bowing. âExactly. Someoneâs got to keep the room lively.â
Even Mingi, who usually held a serious air, cracked small smiles during break stretches. Yeosang leaned against the wall, observing quietly, occasionally offering tips when he saw a posture that could be improved. Hongjoongâs presence was constant, subtle leadership guiding the group without overbearing direction.
Practice after practice, Hwayoung noticed herself improving, and not just in steps and timing, but in her confidence. She could now look at Wooyoung and match his intensity, anticipate his moves, even tease him lightly during rehearsals without losing focus.
Text
Breakfast in the together had become an unspoken ritual. Hwayoung often arrived early to sit in silence, sipping her milk quietly while Wooyoung, Yunho, and sometimes Seonghwa debated over music videos or their favorite practice tracks.
âHave you guys ever tried strawberry milk with tteokbokki?â she asked one morning, breaking the usual chatter.
Yunho made a face, Hongjoong raised an eyebrow, and Mingi leaned forward slightly. âThatâs⌠actually not terrible,â Yeosang admitted carefully.
It became a small joke for the group, a silly, lighthearted rhythm to counterbalance the intensity of rehearsals. Hwayoung found herself smiling more, genuinely, in these moments.
Some days she struggled. On one of the more difficult days, she sat on the floor with tears prickling her eyes from frustration.
San noticed first. Without saying a word, he crouched beside her, silently offering a hand. âWeâll figure it out,â he said softly.
Hwayoung let herself lean on him, if only for a moment. It was a rhythm she hadnât expected â that of trust, support, and shared struggle
One evening, the group was running through a difficult routine. Hwayoung stumbled over her feet, her balance slipping slightly.
Wooyoung caught her wrist instantly, steadying her. âGot it. Donât worry.â
She managed a small laugh. âThanks.â
Seonghwa, leaning against the wall with arms folded, shook his head in mock frustration. âYou two are going to give yourselves a headache if you keep being so coordinated.â
Jongho rolled his eyes dramatically, while Yunho collapsed on the floor, panting, âI need water⌠or life support.â
Mingi and Yeosang just watched, silently assessing. Hwayoung realized that even their quiet presence was comforting. Each member had a rhythm, and she was slowly fitting into it.
By the end of practice, drenched in sweat, she laughed at herself. âOkay, maybe perfection isnât the goal.â
Notes: As mentioned in an earlier post, Ive started school again, I will try my hardest to get you writings as soon as I am fully available

Wooyoung
Summery: Wooyoung Arrives, and Hwayoung provides some help
Word Count: 1014Â
Warning(s):Â Mild depiction of sleep deprivation / idol trainee stress
| Return to Masterlist | Return to Pre-Debut Cronicles |
She slept that night, shockingly. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than she had gotten in months. The exhaustion of the previous day had worked its way deep into her muscles, but instead of keeping her awake, it had wrapped her in a heavy, dreamless slumber. She gets out of bed around 4:30, before her alarm, to prepare for the day.Â
The room was dark except for the faint glow of the streetlamp outside, casting a thin line of light across her wall. She stretched her shoulders, put on a simple hoodie and joggers. She tied her shoes with ease.Â
Something about today was different. The streets outside were nearly silent, only the sounds of cars driving by. She arrived at the practice room around 6am to prepare for practice. The KQ building was quiet. The lights dim, only one in the hallway. She walked through the hallway. He footsteps echoed throughout
She walked to the main practice room to see that the door was slightly ajar, music played, but it was quiet respective of the time. Was someone there, before her? She wondered. Walking closer to the door she pushes it open, unsure what to expect, had Hongjoong fallen asleep, then she thought for a moment, Hongjoong never forgot to close the door. He was too careful. Maybe Yeosang? He sometimes slipped in early when he was overthinking, but his playlist of soft ballads was nothing like the steady beat she was hearing now..
Inside, the roomâs mirrors glowed with the soft reflection of a single overhead light. And there, in the center of the polished floor, was someone sheâd never seen before. His hair was messy, dark bangs clinging to his forehead, shirt clinging to his back like heâd been at this for hours.Â
His sneakers squeaked against the floor as he spun into a slide, breath heavy but perfectly in time with the rhythm, and here she was just watching. Her back was against the door frame, she didn't want to interrupt but also didn't want to leave. Curiosity rooted her in place.
The boy hit the last eight-count, ending in a low stance, chest heaving. He straightened, catching sight of her reflection in the mirror â and visibly startled. His head whipped around, hair falling over his eyes. He brushed it back with the back of his hand, breathing hard.
âOh! I'm sorry I didnât know anyone was hereâ he said quickly bowing in apology. She stood up and spoke, not realizing that she was staring, âno, Iâm sorry, I'm generally the first here, I didn't mean to interrupt.â She walked farther into the room and the two stood in silence for just a moment.Â
âYou did not interrupt.â he said, waving her apology away. She simply nods and steps farther into the room, her sneakers silent on the polished floor. .Â
âMy name is Jung Wooyoungâ said the boy, well Wooyoung. âI just transferred from BigHit.â He smiled, brushing the sweat from his face. The name caught her attention. Transfers werenât common, especially not to a small agency like KQ.
âI'm Hwayoung. Yoon Hwayoung.â she replied, offering a polite smile. âNice to meet youâ he replied.
âI guess you're working on the new choreography that was taught yesterday?â she asked. He nodded. âFeels like Iâm not getting it. So I thought I would come in early to see if I could.â Hwayoung looked confused, âwhat do you mean your control is good, as is your transitions. â He looked up, ecstatic with the compliment. âReally?â he saidÂ
âReallyâ she said. she said simply.
It was easy to see heâd been pushing himself hard, maybe too hard. There was a familiar look in his posture â the slight forward lean, the restless bounce of weight from one foot to the other. She recognized it because sheâd lived it: the drive to be perfect, to match the pace of those whoâd been here longer, to prove you deserved your spot.
âDo you want to run it together?â she offered after a moment.
His smile grew, bright in a way that softened the dim room. âYeah. If you donât mind.â
She didnât, she wanted to help in anyway she could.
They ran the choreo slowly at first, then faster, their movements syncing more with each repetition. He had a sharpness to his style that contrasted her more measured approach â but somehow, it worked. By the time the song ended for the last time, both of them were breathing hard, sweat cooling against their skin. Wooyoung grinned between breaths. âYouâre really good.â
Hwayoung shrugged lightly, but there was a faint warmth in her chest at the words. âThank you.âÂ
âYouâre fast at picking things up,â Hwayoung said eventually, straightening. âMost people wouldnât try to nail new choreography before the coffeeâs even kicked in.â
Wooyoung laughed â a quick, easy sound that bounced lightly off the mirrors. âIâm⌠not really most people,â he admitted. âAnd coffee doesnât do much for me anyway.â He swiped at his forehead with the hem of his shirt before tugging it back down. âIf I donât work on it right away, I start overthinking. And then⌠well, it gets ugly.â
She smirked faintly. âSo youâre the type who canât leave things alone until theyâre perfect.â
He raised an eyebrow, grinning. âSays the one who came here before sunrise.â
She had to concede the point with a quiet chuckle. âFair enough.â
They fell into a comfortable quiet again, broken only by the soft ticking of the wall clock. The morning still felt theirs, the world outside not quite awake yet.
And then, faint at first, came the distant shuffle of footsteps in the hall â the low rumble of voices, laughter carried closer with each second.
Wooyoung glanced toward the door, then back at her. âGuess our secret morning clubâs over.â
She smiled. âI guess so, for today.â
Something in the way he grinned back made her certain of it â there would be other mornings like this. And maybe, she thought as the door began to creak open, she didnât mind that at all.

Help
Summery: Hwayoung needs to understand something
Word Count: 729
Warning(s): self doubt, hints of suicide (not directly stated), Burnout
| Return to Masterlist | Return to Pre-Debut Cronicles |
Being the eldest has its positives but sometimes it doesn't.Â
It has been six months since Hwayoung first stepped foot into the doors of KQ Entertainment. Since then itâs been a blur of mirrored rooms, and too many takeout containers to count. It's now July of 2017, the summer heat was a plague of exhaustion, and the humidity hung heavy clinging to skin.
The group of seven (see the updated âFirst Stepsâ) were gathered in the practice room, which wreaked of sweat, from the group who were dancing for the past few hours. The same routine was done for hours, on repeat until muscle memory kicked in. The eight Trainees lay scattered across the floor like dominoes, each too tired to move. The once vibrant energy filled room had dissolved into quiet, the occasional groan of someone shifting.
Hwayoung was lying flat on her back, Her chest rose and fell with each breath she took. Her black tank top clung to her skin and her once high ponytail had fallen into a damp mess. Her face remained calm, refusing to look tired. Yunho laid down beside her, his arm covering his face.Â
âTake me now,â he groaned, voice muffled. âIâve seen the light. Itâs coming from the ceiling.â
Hwayoung gave the smallest smile.
âIâm going to write my will on the mirror,â he added. âDivide my hoodies evenly.â
Others the same scattered around the room lying on the cold wooden floor. Across was Mingi, he lay against the mirror, eyes closed, breathing heavily. San, Jongho and Yeosang lay scattered around. Hongjoong was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall. Seonghwa sat near the door simply watching them all, he noticed all of the little things.
Hwayoung was exhausted, both physically and mentally. She barely remembered if she slept the night before, or even that week. Was she tired, yes, but she was determined to not show it in any way. The others had complaints of how tired they were but in the midst of their complaints Hwayoung stayed silent.Â
She was the oldest.Â
She had to be strong.Â
The example.
The one everyone could rely on.
She laid there with her pal, pressed over her face, trying to breathe evenly, trying to stop the buzzing panic in her chest that whisperedÂ
Youâre not doing enough.
Youâre falling behind.
Theyâre younger, and theyâre ahead.
If you slow down, youâll disappear.
âHey, you're tired.â someone said quietly towards her. She pushed the hair out of her face. She opens her eyes, blinking to get adjusted to the light. Seonghwa stood above her with a sincere expression on his face. âIm fineâ she replied, her voice hoarse, in an almost practiced fashion. âYou donât have to hold it in, no one expects you to.â He said concerned, sitting next to her. He was quiet for a moment.
âSometimes I feel like if I stop, everything will fall apart.â She admitted to Seonghwa. He thought before stating. âI think we all feel that way. But you don't have to carry everything. , just because you're the oldest. You have all of us to lean on. Thatâs what being a team means.âÂ
Hwayoung stared at the ceiling, the words floating through brain. They hit harder than she thought they would, she hadnât realized how much she needed to hear it.Â
âThank youâ she replied, words she ment.
âCome on, Stretch, you might hurt more tomorrow than you do nowâ Said Seonghwa. âFine, since i'd rather not be in pain tomorrowâ she said with a light laugh, still exhausted, as she pushed herself up, Seonghwa offered her a hand. She took it, with little hesitation. They all moved and began to stretch to allow their muscles to relax.Â
She looked at the 7 boys around her, a protective feeling filled her. Her strangeâ no just her family, her teammates. She Looked..
At Yunho, who would probably still crack a joke even if he passed out. At San and Jongho, wild and passionate even when half-conscious. At Mingi, full of thunder and emotion. At Yeosang, quiet but sharp. At Hongjoong, always planning five steps ahead. At Seonghwa, who saw the cracks no one else did.
Maybe being the oldest wasnât about being the strongest. Maybe it was about showing up, even when it was hard and letting someone else hold the weight for a little while.

HI! so while working on the next writing i realized a mistake in the timeline, this has been updated to correctly follow the timeline
First Steps
Summery: Hwayoung Arrives at KQ and meets a few of the Ateez Members.
Word Count: 626
Warning(s): None, If i missed anything let me know
| Return to Masterlist | Return to Pre-Debut Cronicles |
Hwayoung arrived at KQ entertainment in February of 2017. The brisk air greets her as she exits her dorm, that she was assigned. The black jacket rests on her shoulders as she walked to the building, luckily somewhat close to her dorm. Her black tennis shoes tied to perfection, her pants, and simple black leggings. A purple shirt to add some color. She didnât want to present herself as unclean or careless, but determined and to make a good impression.Â
She entered the building with a calm expression. She greets the lady at the desk. âHello, Iâm Yoon Hwayoung the new traineeâ the woman looked up, âoh? Welcome!â She paused, â Iâm Yuri, let me get a few things for you,â she said. Yuri turned around and looked through a pile of scattered papers, once finding the right papers. She turns back to the front. âJust a few things, nothing major, just some information and one thing to sign.â Yuri said, handing the papers and a pen to Hwayoung with ease.Â
Hwayoung glances over one of the documents.
After she read the document, she signed. âWelcome to KQ, dear.â Yuri said, âI hope you find yourself here. You will meet with your trainee manager in a few moments, then meet the other trainees, there are only a few of you as of nowâ she continued.
Hwayoung sent a nod her way, âthank youâ Yuri smiled in her direction. After a few minutes another woman enters the lobby of the small building, âhello, I'm Kim Soojin, Your training coordinator, follow me, we will talk as we walk.â she said to Hwayoung. Hwayoung nodded, âof course Mrs. Kim.â she replied walking aside Manager Kim. âWeâll get your schedule sortedâvocal, rap, dance, language classes, evaluations⌠everything youâll need. But first, I want you to meet the others also We donât expect perfection. What we expect is effort, honesty, and growth. Your attitude matters just as much as your talent. Understood?â
âYes,â Hwayoung answered, voice firm but polite.
They arrived at a simple practice room and there were 7 males, two that were rather tall, one with a serious face and one that was slightly small, but serious, almost scary, and another scary one. there where two others, one that looked younger than the rest and, another, it was hard to describe.
âThis is Yoon Hwayoung, a new trainee.â Manager Kim said. âHello,â Hwayoung said in a careful but calm voice.
The boys began to introduce themselves, the shorter but serious, spoke up âhello, Iâm Hongjoong, I'm more of the leader hereâ leader. Hwayoung thought to herself, he has the aura of one anyway. Hwayoung turned slightly to the boy beside him who was tall, had a bright smile sketched on his face. âHi! Im Yunhoâ his smile never faltered.
The third was also tall, but a bit more serious but held a gentle expression, âim Mingiâ he said. The final boy was not too tall, or not too short, he held a careful expression as if he was assessing her. âIm Yeosangâ he said with ease.
"hi, im san" said the youngest looking on. "im Jongho" said another. finally the honestly scary one spoke up in a calm and welcoming voice, "hello, im Seonghwa.
Soojin clapped her hands once. âGood. Now that youâre acquainted, Iâll leave you all to warm up. Boys, help her settle in.â the four boys nodded.Â
They seem nice, Hwayoung thought to herself.
âSo what do you do?â asked Yunho his smile seemed larger than before, it was genuine. âI dance, and rap, sometimes. I'm still learningâ she replied, trying not to seem too nervous. âOh Dance?â said Yeosang, his eyes lighting up. âWhat style?âÂ
âMostly hip hop,â she replied, keeping a calm expression. The others nodded.
The 7 got along well and Yunho worked with her to help learn the dance that would be required for monthly evaluations. âYou are doing an amazing Job!â Yunho said. âThank youâ Hwayoung replied with a smile.
The day comes to an end. âI think I'm going to do well hereâ she thought to herself.
Authors note: I'm so sorry!!!! but thank you for your patients as mentioned in my updates i was in the hospital so i couldn't get a lot done, I'm finally up to writing again!
Also the contract is a generalization, its not meant to directly reflect how KQ's contracts work. Also the time line is gernalization from what i have found from doing research, so it may be incorrect
My requests are open if you want to give me any ideas
