AU where Joel doesn’t give up on his trap nor die to ender pearls.

Where Joel is DETERMINED to make this trap work.

Joel deconstructs and rebuilds the trap…

Only to have it fail again.

This repeats quite a few more times.

Yet Joel absolutely refuses to listen to any of the ghosts advice; he is determined to make this trap work without any help.

Once the ghosts accept there’s no way to get through to him, they start chatting amongst each other instead.

Apologies, hugs, and memories shared amongst each other.

For the first time, the players are allowed closure.

Allowed to make amends and talk to their friends one last time before this season ends and the next one begins.

Eventually, Joel gets it right. He perfects the trap, and when he dies he hears cheering before it all goes quiet.

AU where, thanks to Joel’s terrible trap making skills, Wild Life is the first season that gets a truly happy ending.

I love how with each season, Joel gets more allies.

He was alone in Third Life

He basically either had one friend at a time (Scar then Grian) or was alone in Last Life

He had his soulmate Etho the whole way through in Double Life

He had his two bad boys Grian and Jimmy in Limited Life

He had his mounders Pearl, Mumbo, and Bdubs in Secret Life

And he had his extended family of Gem, Etho, Grian, and the three Bamboozlers in Wild Life <3
