Hiii timebuddies headcanon question because I am curious what you think of this !! Any thoughts on what their love languages would be with each other, giving and/or receiving, I started thinking about this and could not stop so I’m curious what others thoughts are
OHHH THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE TOPICS! Okay so I'm going to talk about my Out Of The Loop time buddies specifically.
I think Gabbro is a very tactile person: they love touch, they hug, they kiss- it's like their second language. It's not something that's romantically exclusive, it's something they eo in general, but it's something Hatchy loves nonetheless. Being able to just rest against Gabbro, have them rub their back, hold their hand... Specially during the loops I think Hatchy would be pretty touch starved, so this kind of contact would feel like water in the desert. Once they got into a more romantically inclined relationship, Gabbro would cuddle them non-stop and show lots of physical affection.
Gabbro would also take care of Hatchy: They would listen to their theories, their anxieties, their worries... And help them ground them. Be it by meditation, by giving advice, or by helping them untangle their feelings, Gabbro would be a constant support for Hatchy. I specially like the idea of Gabbro helping Hatchy whenever they had an anxiety attack by doing synchronized breathings, softly speaking to them and cleaning the tears dropping down their face. Gabbro would help Hatchy slow down and rest, and help with whatever emotional problem they might have.
On the other hand, Hatchy would be someone who took Gabbro out of their comfort zone. Be it by taking them through the solar system or by talking about stuff that Gabbro isn't used to, Hatchy would activate them and put them into movement. They like sharing experiences with them, be it by bringing gabbro along or by sharing their stories with them. It makes Gabbro feel that much less alone because, no matter how much stuff Hatchy has on their hands, they always come back to Gabbro sooner or later. Plus, Hatchy never judges: they accept Gabbro's decision to say on the hammock or to come with them, never making them feel guilty or questioned. They will give them the option to tag along and let Gabbro take it whenever they are ready. This patience and understanding is something that makes Gabbro feel comfortable and understood.
And Hatchy makes Gabbro feel *seen*. I do think that Gabbro would have a harder time feeling understood in the village: people know Gabbro's antics so they would straight out dismiss their theories (like hornfels) or listen to them amusedly while not taking them seriously, thinking that their stories are just that- stories. But! Hatchy would not only be interested in what Gabbro had to say, they'd actively ask them for more; "why do you think this? What's your opinion on that? How did you arrive to that conclusion?" And for the first time Gabbro would be able to talk about their deeper feelings and philosophical thoughts without being asked to go to the point. Gabbro would be able to talk for hours and Hatchy would gladly listen. Gabbro would feel heard, seen.
And on top of all of this, they both unconditionally accept each other. They want the other one to be happy, to be taken care of, and they never judge or reproach the other one. They are literally an unstoppable force and an unmovable object, but instead of clashing they just complement each other. Hatchy helps Gabbro move, and Gabbro helps Hatchy slow down.
Thanks for the ask! I have so so many headcanons regarding these two, I hope I didn't made it too long haha
#time buddies#outer wilds#i've literally had so many convos with tori about this#i was this close 👌🏼 to copy paste some of those

Thinking about time buddies and how tragic their story is. What if there was someone else you shared eternity with. What if you both had all the time in the world but had no time at all. What if you could talk and know each other and spend time together, exploring the whole universe- but at the same time you would never grow old together.
If you only get to spend time together and get to know each other because of the loop, is that bond real? Would you two have become closer if you weren't isolated from everyone else in the galaxy? Does it matter? Or is it enough to just have someone who understands what you're going through?
And yet no matter how many post-loop aus there are, there is only one canon way things go.
Hatchy leaves. And Gabbro stays. Each carrying the weight of their choice with them.

Being out of the time loop means new problems (the hatchy-gabbro dynamic changing) but also new resolutions (being able to ask for help to your support net, and getting all kinds of advice)!

I guess there's no more delaying the inevitable, huh? Third part of the collaboration with @tippertot <3 She made the cabin metaphor up on the spot and I knew I had to do something with it- it's just too good. -> Prev | Next ⋆✴︎˚。⋆

#outer wilds#time buddies#iirc this dialogue was one of the first things we came up with for this comic#we were sharing possible scenes of how the jealousy plot line could go and boom. my new favorite metaphor#also i'm really glad I got to draw slate as time goes on the more I appreciate them#I had so much fun drawing them. they are just so expressive#there's something I really like about someone having an intense communication style that gives great advice#vs someone who talks really smooth but gives bad advice (spinel)#slate beloved <3

Hello everyone! I have been working on this project for many, many months, if not a whole year by now -- but it is finally here! And so I present to you yet another documentation project:
The Outer Wilds Lore Map aims to be one big interactive web page containing as much of the OW lore as possible -- from physics data about how big (small, really) the planets are, to obscure fun facts about lore that could have been but was removed or retconned at some point, to whether or not Chert knows what Ash Twin looks like without its sand!
I have already spent a very long time writing it all in the tutorial and the coding itself, so I will rather let the images speak for themselves here. All I will say is that I have done everything I could in order to make it as intuitive and comfy an experience as possible. The lore is very lacking for now, and filling it will take a while -- but hey, wouldn't it be fun to do it with friends? If only in order to have people nag at me for all the typos, or if you disagree with something.
You want to help out? Just curious? If you're interested, there is a Discord server that you can join in order to give your thoughts on where this is going!
The link for a permanent invite is present on the Lore Map's page, just open the blue "Tutorial & Tips" button and look at the bottom!
#HELLO?????#holy shit this is amazing#sharing this on my art blog#since I know more people follow me here#and this can probably be a useful resource for lots of people

Hi! For the ask game, I was wondering about 17? ::D
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
Oh I am constantly snacking, mostly because I take a long time to draw and I get hungry haha! I love chocolate (*comically points at my username*) or anything sweet really, like cookies. There's this um desert(?) that I like, that's just a mix of yoghurt, nocilla (cocoa and hazelnut spread) and banana slices. Really sweet!
I usually drink water, but I sometimes will make myself a warm drink to feel cozy (some matcha tea or a famous hot cocoa brand in here, Cola Cao which is, like, my favorite). As you see, I have something of a sweet tooth, haha. Thanks for the ask!

8, 13 and 14 for the ask game !!
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
I've got so many, unfortunately! There were these two animatics I wanted to do- One for Angels of Death (post canon story about Zack and Ray), and a short one for a scene from the book Taming Demons for Begginers. Animatics are long term projects though, and I never got too far from the initial stages. There have been a couple interpolation comics I wanted to do too, but I got distracted by other projects in the way <3 And then various drawings from different fandoms that I wasn't happy with. I guess this is a good oportunity as any as to share some them? Warning for (VERY OLD) drawings of varying quality haha!
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
This is a hard one! I usually admire creators who have works that I adore, so none come to mind at first. And I follow the sacred rule of ignoring/blocking creators that make content I don't enjoy, so can't think of any right now 🤔
14. Any favorite motifs
Oh I love characters that are codependent and isolated from the rest of the world, and exploring their dynamics 😊 And when it comes to drawing I looooove showing casual intimacy (I need to make sure my characters are always doing something with their hands). Do these count? Thanks for the ask!

Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.
(I wrote this while sick out of my mind last year and it's been collecting dust in my drafts, I might as well let it run free) 1. Art programs you have but don't use
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
3. What ideas come from when you were little
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
9. What are your file name conventions
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
12. Easiest part of body to draw
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
14. Any favorite motifs
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
23. Do you use different layer modes
24. Do your references include stock images
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
