The place he was in now seemed so wildly unfamiliar. Yet it was apparently Gotham, according to signs posted up in the area. Far far from home, with no home to go back to, it was easy for Terry to get lost here. So, he was attempting to get a proper lay of the land. To find a place to rest. Unfortunately, he must have stood out more than he realized, even obscured as he was by the cover of night. Considering the group of dregs that decided to attack him.

The sixteen year old normally would have done this little mental mapping session in the bat suit, which would have made this scuffle go by a bit quicker assuming they would have gotten the jump on him, had he opted for it. However. Terry was tired, overwhelmed, hungry, and not able to think so clearly. Given how and why he ended up here, not surprising. He didn't even want to think about how much he had just lost. No, he had to keep pushing forward.

Of course, pushing ones self while at the point of exhaustion didn't make it easy to fight multiple attackers off. Terry managed to get a few good hits in, knocking at least one of them out and injuring a couple of the others pretty badly, before taking some damage himself. Mostly to the stomach. Surrounded, the teen internally scolded himself for being so careless.

Then another unfamiliar, yet familiar scene played out before him. A tall dark figure jumping in to save the day. He was definitely not used to being on this side of that scenario. Maybe it would have been a pride thing to reject help from a stranger, had Terry not been faced with another thought entirely.

The entity that dropped him here had made it clear that wherever he ended up, there was a high chance he'd encounter alternates of him. Somehow, the thought of seeing another version of someone he was so close to looked up to and respected a great deal, so soon after losing him... before he could even process it at all... It forced him to automatically push away.

Even after the biting words left his mouth, he felt he couldn't get away from the stranger fast enough. A self defense mechanism, maybe. If only the situation and his condition would allow for it. Even if the goons were dealt with, the events leading up to now were catching up with him.

The teen leaned against a wall for support as the stranger spoke and pointedly not looking in his direction, intending on catching his breath and wits. Instead, with an audible cough, the injury to his empty gut earlier produced blood from his mouth. Which he hurriedly wiped away with the back of his jacket sleeve, hoping it wasn't noticed. If this figure was who he thought he was, Terry didn't want him to stay for much longer.

" I'll be fine ! Just go! There's probably someone else who needs you more than I do right now anyway. "

Already he was trying to not compare how eerily similar their voices sounded as he tried to do as he was told. There was no proof they were the same person anyway, or at least he was telling himself that. Off the street would be a good idea. Maybe he could make it back to where he left the batmobile, in camouflage mode.

A bit of a nod to how Diana's own strength seems to work better when she calls upon her faith. Now, base strength for Terry without the suit as per my blog canon is already a bit above the normal human strengths. But not by much. But the bat suit amplifies the wearer's strength among other capabilities. This is how this version of Terry was able to save Viktor. He was able to break the thick ice in time.
