And now I have ANOTHER silver one, obtained by the boyfriend’s parents once again. 

What should I do with duplicates like this?

(1930-1936) The Book League of America (New York). Printed in the United States of America. American Book–Stratford Press Inc., NY. 331 pages.

These, unfortunately, are two identical copies of the same book. I didn’t realize this at the time I acquired them, because they are, strangely enough, very slightly different. Though they are both bound with navy blue cloth, one has been sealed with a shiny coating. This one also has silver ink on the spine, where the other one has gold. Both have deckled page edges, as none of my other copies do. That they were not produced at exactly the same time is plain, but they were both printed by the same press. Can we find out when?

Fortunately, yes: The Book League of America began publishing in 1930 and was bought out by Doubleday in 1936, and the description of the books the published exactly fits both copies. The American Book-Stratford Press that bound these copies is still in business apparently, having started in 1899. 

The silver one, me being the idiot that I am, doesn’t have the date I acquired it written inside (which I normally do), so I haven’t a clue where or when I got it. The gold was given to me by a very good old friend, Emily, in 2012, who found it in Long Branch, New Jersey! We’re both Jersey girls so its good to have something from the old homestead. :)

Earlier I called up the offices of several state senators

I spoke to several staffers and asked if their bosses planned to join the growing list of senators voicing their opposition to Steve Bannon being on White House staff

Do you know what one of them asked me?

“Are you keeping a list of senators who don’t speak out?”

We can put pressure on these officials.

Organize an event, get some friends together, order a pizza for lunch and start making calls.

Call their state offices. And then call their DC offices.

Don’t send an email. Don’t write a letter. Call.

And if they say nothing, put them on a list. We will remember who they are and what they didn’t do.

I haven’t done one of these in a while.  Not a daily bird, but a quick drawing for one of the falconers I follow!  This is for @solohawk and their Harris Hawk.

I do plan to do more, if I get the chance.  My original plan a year ago was to draw for the falconry blogs I could find lol
