I drew this comic as a teaser for my new fic Heart's Blood.

Zelkov is unable to prevent Ivy from being attacked by a vampire. Ivy is determined to find a cure, leading the two of them on a journey to seek the aid of the Divine Dragon.

I think it's pretty fandom-blind friendly if you're a fan of vampires and angsty, angsty romance.

This is my second commission with @kingofreddragons who is both incredibly talented and a joy to work with.

Now here's me getting way too serious about my ship: A big theme in my writing is the idea of consumption. That is, being so in love with someone that you want to take a part of them and make it a part of yourself. This shows up in my fics a lot of times as breath and blood. It brings up ideas of give and take, and the balance of a relationship. The knife and rose are symbols of Zelkov and Ivy, of course, and their hands are bleeding because love opens us up to pain. A big part of their story (as I write it) is learning to accept that the love is worth the pain.

Sometimes it absolutely floors me when I find an amazing artist that gets very little attention on here. It does help to remind me that a lack of attention on social media doesn't mean a lack of skill on the part of the artist.
