Enjoying Dealership lately! Non-cryptic lyrics, simple but totally worthy thoughts~ 2001 album; this type of sound is coming back around, I think.

vimeo
It's a really fine vid rite?? I keep losing the vimeo link so this is more for personal ref, so I don't have to watch YoutubeVEVO's nasty ads. The musical quality of this is not 100% to my taste, but the visuals are far and above anything taste-related. One just finds oneself with needz to give propz.

Have listened to this song a minimum of 50 times somehow by now lol. Is it all over the radio and in stores now? I don't go outside enough so I can only suppose. The Logo Remix of this is likewise worthy.

2011 Obits album is good to play in the car on overly early morning drives. It's got good energy and kind of a carefree sound, all like Yea we know we sound like Survivor etc sometimes but man how fun is this type of sound.

Love the A-sides. I'd lost my copy of this album to a move, so it was extra nice to reencounter this song on Spotify.

The most Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts sounding least Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts rehashing musical ensemble since Bitter:Sweet. Also, way more legitgood AND COLLABORATING WITH TUNEYARDS than either.

What better sounds to score your Halloween than old-timey rollicks evoking soft-focus sepia, bone china and garden moss, houses on hills and specimens under glass and lake ghosts, sung by a Tropicalia-influenced band that also may or may not be a cult?
Let the spell do its work.

This is lately my alarm ring tone. We saw Pistol Valve perform at LA's Knitting Factory before the venue closed down. It was a pretty great night. Go!Go!7188 was preforming as well and we got to get late night coffee with Turkey!
