I’m completely in love with the idea of Nico, Will, Cecil, and Lou Ellen going on sort of an Apollo-centric quest to reignite the spirit of Delphi.

I started to write a short fanfiction drabble for this idea, but it ended up longer than I expected and I had to draw out some ideas. xD

It takes place about four months or so after the events of Blood of Olympus. This drabble hops right into the beginning of the quest when the four demigods are on a mission to retrieve a map from a pirate ship, a necessary essential to carry on with their quest. Not only is Nico put in charge of his very first quest with three other rambunctious rookies, he’s also constantly being nagged by Will to watch his use of Underworld-related magic. Nico tries his best to assume leadership of the group and keep them all safe. Putting others first is part of Nico’s nature, though his carelessness often leaves him on the lower hand, struggling to stand on two feet and left with a fear of sinking back into the shadows… Perhaps for good.

The pirates were the least of Nico’s problems by the time Will Solace showed up. Nico had loved pirates as a kid, so it was almost a little disappointing to have the swashbucklers attack them before he could even ask for an autograph. Between him and Lou Ellen, these pirates were nothing in comparison to what Nico had faced in the past. They bursted into dust without much of a fight. Nico and Lou Ellen cut through the enemy’s line like butter, and the pirates went out cursing like sailors as they vanished into clouds of golden dust. Nico had always anticipated that the first Pirates he’d meet would be the ones you see on TV. A little rough around the edges, but could offer a good one-on-one duel. The kind that wore the long coats, the hats, those cool leather belts. The ones with that stereotypical accent, the eyepatch, and peg legs. These types of pirates may have existed on the ship at some point, but now the ship had been overrun with vicious doberman-headed, seal-bodied telekhines. The reason Nico, Will, Lou Ellen, and Cecil had boarded this ship in the first place is because it was essential to their quest in finding the Oracle. The prophecy called for a map that give them answers as to where they were headed, and all arrows pointed to this ship. The prophecy that Ella had spouted was a bit unnerving. Especially the last line: Fall of the sun, The final verse. Nico was put in charge of leading the quest, his very first real quest. The drawbacks? Just about everything else. Will Solace had immediately volunteered to come along, followed up by Lou Ellen from the Hecate Cabin and Cecil from the Hermes cabin. A group of reckless Demigods on a quest to recover the Oracle. It would be a miracle if they all managed to make it back to Camp Half Blood without strangling each other. Nico functioned better at night, so they decided to launch their attack when the sun was just beginning to set. The plan was to make it to the hull of the ship, snatch the map, and get out of here as fast as possible. Lou Ellen had charged ahead for the direct line of attack whereas Cecil and Will hung back to create diversions. The ship was crawling with telekhines. Nico was beginning to wonder how would they get back out of the ship even if they were successful in stealing the map. The telekhines were already alerting fellow pirate ships and in no time, they would surely arrive. If any more ships showed up, they were in big trouble. Nico wondered if Jules Albert had a submarine. That would probably come in handy for their escape.

i have a headcanon that will hates his hands since he can only use them for healing and he’s still not able to save some people, so nico kisses his hands a lot to make sure will never feels bad about them
