when I look into the sky its like a mirror to my heart for I can not see the stars and it is oh so very dark for the city lights are blinding they outshine the brightest star it makes the void so bleak and desolate it makes one forget who they are

can I even kill myself if I am not alive? when my body breaks the water, will I truly die? cause I'm already drowning its only a matter of time before my lungs fill with water or I swim to the shore and survive

and maybe then I'll build a life that I will not resent cause I'm not really living here in the present and maybe then I'll find a way to set myself free from the torture of existence and from my anxieties

and yet I can not see the way to climb out to the light I toss and turn and wish that I could cry my way through the night the future in my minds eye is afflicted by a blight cause I can't see a world where at 25 I have a life

for we all look the same when mixed with the ash and rust

or maybe take the skin and flesh and leave me just as bone

for dust, it lives down in the ground but a skeleton has no home.
