Video game from 1998: has a unused object in the code labelled "BEAN" with nothing else attached to it

One of the developers in an interview 15 years later: Yeah we wanted to have a bean item in the game that would make you float around like a balloon but it was rubbish so we scrapped it.

Someone on social media sharing a post sharing the interview from 5 years ago: FUCK!!! This basically means the bean is canon and developers went out of their way to lie to us. Everything will have to be rewritten to accomodate bean.

A second developer on social media a few years later: We never had an idea for a bean that makes you go up. I don't know where you got that idea.
