like in last year's post, tankiepoo is a buzzsaw shark (also known as the helicoprion, an extinct shark)... really he's a hybrid between that and a siren since that's what i imagine lyla as in this au but he looks much more like buzz + i haven't drawn her yet. lolsies omg also yes the sea stars are being used as trans tape ^_^

almeric… hes a freak. scientific name cirrhilabrus. also known as the fairy wrasse, cleaner wrasses in general are a type of fish that eat decaying matter or bad parasites off of sharks' bodies and avoid being eating themselves. symbiosis 💚.

HOWEVER. a big however, too. fairy wrasses are not cleaner wrasses, which is a misconception i had while drawing this.. you see cleaner wrasses are of the genus Labroides, but like i said earlier, the scientific name + genus of the fairy wrasse is Cirrhilabrus. they do not partake in the cleaning behavior.

Tycutio Week is happening!

A lot of people showed interest in a Tycutio Week, so here we go! The Tycutio Week will run from August 4th to August 10th!

What is this event?

It's a week to celebrate tycutio with art, fanfics, crafts, even the sims screenshots... Anything goes, as long you don't use generative AI.

There are three prompts for each day of the week, you can choose one or mix them! They are here to inspire you and see what people can come up with.

If you want to participate, you don't have to do anything besides post your work at the right day - although it's okay if you are late. Use the tag #tycutioweek for easy finding! You don't need to do every single day to participate.

Unlike events like mermay, inktober, etc., we suggest to make your works ahead of time and have it ready for the week.

Breakup, New Family Member, and Go Steady Wants/Fears Mod

This was made by a member of my community, Riftwalker, who graciously gave me permission to upload their edited version of the EA WantTrees.

THIS FILE DOES NOT GO IN YOUR MODS FOLDER.

This overwrites: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Wants\WantTrees.package

What is this?

EA broke their 'Break Up' wants in vanilla Sims 2. This fixes it, along with other fixes:

Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elder sims of all aspirations can get a want and a fear for Break Up.

Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elder sims can get a want and a fear to Go Steady.

This is already possible, but Riftwalker added "True" so that teens of all aspirations (instead of just family) and children can get a want "New family member", which is cute and it's them basically saying they want a new sibling.

Teens can roll woohoo wants. (Credits to Syberpunk on MTS)

In one instance, Uni wants for all aspirations has been enabled, and in another instance, engagement and left at alter wants and fears for all aspirations is enabled.

I'm a God

I fixed my world again...

So in the Sims 2, if you run dxdiag on your computer (just search it on your desktop screen) you can see how much texture memory your graphics card has room for.

I mistakenly set mine much lower with Graphics Rules Maker, which is a godsend. I increased it to just under the limit which was 8k MB.

Now I can have skyboxes, full neighborhood lot distance and fade distance off, and it looks crystal clear like it used to.

Energy Gain Determined by Aspiration Level

I hate how cheaper beds give less energy than more expensive ones, so I've used the same energy gain for any bed mod by Marhis for the longest time. But recently, I've started to feel like it's too cheaty. It makes my sims always sleep like logs!

So I came up with a solution that adds variation for all beds alike.

This mod entirely ties the energy gain to the sim's aspiration level. The lower the level is, the slower the energy bar will fill and vice versa; sims with their aspiration level well on the green side or above likely wake up refreshed.

Makes sense to me that happy sims sleep better than those close to the aspiration failure! The scale of the energy gain is about the same as between the cheapest and the most expensive maxis bed, so it's still well balanced too.

Just like Marhis' mod, this mod also makes children gain energy at a slower rate than older sims, to prevent them from waking up too early. Their aspiration level still affects the energy gain but the effect is smaller.
