Intro
Hi, I am Rean, and welcome to the Daily Rean Podcast, where I talk about my interests, hobbies, and experiences in my daily life. Hello! Welcome to this podcast, and this is my first episode. [Yey].
[Remove music]
First of all, I'm gonna introduce myself. Hi, again. I am Reandro Toleco or you can just call me, Rean. And I am 20 years old, who is from the shoe capital of the Philippines, Marikina City (Whoo!).
My passion revolves around singing, arts, design, and filming. That is why I see myself in the creative field.
I'm studying at STI College Cubao. And I am currently a 2nd-year multimedia arts student, where we study deeper at the intersection of artistry and technology. It is a creative and technological area that focuses on using many types of media to effectively communicate ideas, messages, or stories.
But why did I choose the multimedia arts program? Originally, I wanted to be an architect. Since I was a kid, I have loved creating designs for people because someday I want to provide spaces that make them feel connected, comfortable, and safe, improving their lives.
But if I'm being practical, I'd choose a course or program that is related to the digital industry because these kinds of jobs are in demand now, which is also caused by the advancement of technology.
Of course, there are subjects that are a big help to us in understanding the world from a digital perspective. We have 3D animation, art appreciation, and writing for new media. These subjects really allow us to have the opportunity to learn new things about the digital world.
In subjects like 3D animation and art appreciation, we can explore ourselves through art and our skills. We can express ourselves and make our potential known to people. While in Writing for New Media, we were introduced to different fundamentals of writing in the digital environment.
Studying this course is actually fun, especially with our professor. This course is fun because I've got to learn and experience new things. I understand more about how new media works, what challenges it can bring, and the benefits that it can provide.
Maybe the one thing or one specific event that influenced my perspective on the new media and its dynamics was when we were tasked with making a vlog about the culture and traditions of a certain place. I realized how different factors, such as audience, time of posting, content, and relevancy to the audience, can affect the engagement of an individual or a group of people.
That's why, as users, we should all be responsible when accessing, consuming, and sharing information, because with every click we make, we can shape our future, may it be good or bad.
And as a student who is finally finishing his second year, I am more excited and pressured at the same time about the great opportunities and challenges I can face. But with amazing and beautiful professors and colleagues, I just know that my third year will be fun.
[Insert music]
Outro
Again, this is Rean and see you, or more like, hear me on the next episode.

P1. good day to us!! You are listening to our agency podcast team, and with us today or we can discuss our topic now, Please welcome Donnie
P2. Good day to all of us! Thank you for welcoming me here.
P1. Thank you Mr. Donnie. Donny in the previous discussion with us on the subject of new media, what exactly did you learn or was your journey in new media?
P2. Maybe, for me, I became wise in being smart when it came to social media because now you know that there are a lot of fake news that are spreading now so I became wise in how to use social media, and interms in my journey in the subject of new media, I enjoyed it a lot and I learned a lot and I know I can use it in the future. Or just now I'm using it.
P1. Yes, donny, many of us today don't think about anything but just post on social media, we need to think before we post, they say "Think before you click" let's think before we post or share something what what
P2. And let me just add, many people especially children are fond of social media, the times are bad now, lastly 9-8 yrs old are using social media right away when we were children or we, you know that, at that age I used to play outside in the jungle like that but now they are focused on social media, and for me this is not good for the children and especially for their health because there is no fun in their physical activities. Nothing. of exercise in their body, so many children today are getting sick, that's one reason.
P1. That's right donny, there are a lot of kids like that, I hear there are relatives like that so I advise them not to use the media too much, and let's stop talking first donny, because we'll be back in a few minutes.
P2.
for me, new media has had a big impact on my life and also on my freelance work, which I will apply what I learned in this subject, and more than that, I have used a lot of terms in social media, because now there are many using social media so it became my stepping stone to get more clients and more because I learned how to use social media properly, there are many barriers but we know how to use it.
P1.
That's right, Donny, this subject will help more people, and above all, we will be more professional in the future in writing and dealing with social media.
QUESTION/ANSWER
1.How's your journey in the course writing for new media?
 - My journey in new media is a great subject for me because I have learned a lot in terms of how to properly make scripts like broadcasting and I have improved myself even more on camera because this subject has a lot of exposure, and the rest is You get used to writing a lot of letters, not just about anything, but also about news castings
2.What specific experience in the course made an impact on your view of the new media.
- for me, the new media has had a big impact on my life and also on my freelance work, which I will apply what I learned in this subject, and even more because I have used a lot of terms in social media, because now there are many when using social media so it became my stepping stone to get more clients and more because I learned how to use social media properly, there are many barriers but we know how to use it.
3.What can be your contribution to new media writing according to what you have learned in the course?
 - maybe my contribution to the new media today is that I use the social media right now and maybe I will use what I have learned, so that I can tell others what I have studied here in this subject, because there are many now many people use social media because they don't know how to use it correctly and it affects them, and so on. There are a lot of fake news and awareness that is spreading for us so that we are even more aware of what we see and read.

[Background Music]
Host: So, what can I contribute to the world of new media writing? My experience in BMMA 401 has equipped me with a diverse skill set. I can bring a unique blend of creativity and analytical thinking, For example, in our vlog, I’m one of the vlogger and food reviewer, we initiated the video to be engaging by doing funny skits, wherein I rolled over the floor of Prima Blend, and at the same time, my groupmates poured water on me, as a form of advertisement, we also did different types of promotions like highlighting facebook friends on the comment section and sharing the vlog on various socials, wo with this new skill set that I learned, I think I can create informative yet enjoyable future contents for new media writing.
Andrei: Moreover, I aim to create content that is inclusive and relatable, breaking down complex ideas into digestible, enjoyable formats. Whether it’s through blogs, vlogs, or podcasts, I want to make sure my audience finds value and connection in what I share.

Media Medicine Podcast~
Podcast~ Script
PODCAST SCRIPT
SFX: [podcast name, song opening]
Lian: Hi hello everyone good morning/afternoon/evening welcome to PODCAST, this is your host Lian and our episode for today is “Media Medicine.” The topic we’ll be talking about is writing new media.
Moving on, this is some quite interesting but not that interesting podcast. I’ll be interviewing myself. An interview about the journey I had with writing new media course. Please welcome our guest, and introduce yourself to our listeners.
Mads: Hi everyone, I am Madeleine, now in my 2nd year and almost on my 3rd. this is quite a different type of podcast because I'm switching with a 1st yr Mads and the Mads Mads now.
SFX: [clapping, “YAY”]
Lian: Wow thanks me for that wonderful introduction. Give yourself a pat on the shoulder.
Anyway, let’s not make this long. We're here to answer some questions regarding some specific stuff that Mads experienced throughout the course of writing new media, a general education course/subject for 2nd-year BMMA students.
So, Mads, how was your journey in taking the course?
Mads: Well, it’s a mix of emotions because sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's dreadful. When the semester started, we had no instructor for this subject, not even a substitute. It was hard because we’re paying to learn yet no one teaches.
Lian: you’re not getting what you paid for.
Mads: Exactly, we managed to have one after a month or two. It was nothing new because the same thing happened last semester with some of our subjects and we already knew what to expect, however, it was not what we expected. We have to catch up with the lessons from prelims while it's already in the middle of midterms.
Lian: So, if your subject was late, how did your schedule arrangements look like?
Mads: Oh, we had a bit of a complaint about that. You see, we have to adapt to the changes in the schedule. Since we started late, we had to match the class schedule with the availability of the instructor so, when we chose this section there was no late-night schedule compared to other sections, but it changed, and writing new media starts at 5:30 PM up to 7 PM every Tuesday and Friday.
Lian: Hassle schedule. You’re until 7 PM every Tuesday then you have a 7 AM class every Wednesday. I can imagine the lack of sleep.
Mads: Yeah, looking forward to getting a good night's sleep this break tho.
Lian: I hope so too. In your subject, What do you usually? Do you just write? You hate writing.
Mads: I don’t hate, I only dislike writing for “I don’t know what” reason. And not because its called writing means we just write. We had a lot of valuable discussions and lessons.
Lian: Oh, what are some of your memorable experiences related to the course?
Mads: Probably the vlog project. It’s by group so it’s much easier. We get to eat since we’re showing off some delicacies in our locality or what to do in our country.
Lian: What did you guys showcase in your vlog?
Mads: We went to one of the oldest bakeshops in San Mateo Rizal. We have to post our vlog online to see its algorithm and observe the audience interaction with videos as a medium for new media
Lian: Was the result good?
Mads: Yes, we garnered quite a lot of viewers and people also shared their experience with the food.
Lian: Did the good result teach a lesson for you? There must be because you said it's memorable.
Mads: Yes, it did. People now prefer watching than reading and they mostly watch short and entertaining videos. I think the reason for this is that social media is commonly used for entertainment so, people would take an interest in those things as entertainment.
Lian: That’s true, with applications such as TikTok is a big factor for that.
Moving on, well I didn’t prepare that many questions as I know you might be busy with finals and all. So, throughout our conversation, I’d say you learned quite a lot. As an application of what you have learned, have you thought of anything you can contribute to new media that you can share with us?
Mads: None. JK. We can fight off fake news by sharing information with reliable sources, fact-checking, and verification. I can share information on how to avoid frequent encounters with fake news and cybercriminals. I cannot remove every fake news online but lending a helping hand in navigating and filtering the information we absorb is a big help. Through this, it can further explain and easily understand how powerful new media can be.
Lian: Wow that’s actually a really good one. I hope you have all the resources and energy to do such a kind act.
So, to end this PODCAST, thank you Mads for coming, we totally appreciate your time doing this podcast. We’ve greatly learned a lot and I hope my listeners too.
Mads: Thank you for having me here too. Invite me again next time.
Lian: I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or sincere…
Mads: Uhm whichever you prefer I think??
Lian: Thought so. And here ends our “PODCAST.” We had such a lovely interview with me. This is your podcast host Lian, and leaving you a message of…“HAPPY FRIDAY”

PODCAST SCRIPT
HOST:
Greetings everyone! Welcome back to our podcast where we talk about anything and everything. I’m your host Arsene and today a guest will share with us about his experiences with a course, or so called programs in college, that some people might not be familiar with, Writing for New Media. Which I am personally not familiar with. Would you like to introduce yourself to our audience?
GUEST:
Hello (Host), and to everyone who is tuning in to the show today. I’m Josh, a 2nd year Multimedia Arts student. Thank you for having me here today.
HOST:
The pleasure is ours, thank you for giving us your time today, Despite your busy schedule, it’s already your finals period right?
GUEST:
Yeah, it’s  been so stressful lately,, but you inviting me to the show kinda gives me a chance to unwind so thank you.
HOST:
Don't mention it. Shall we get started?
GUEST:
Hell yeah.
HOST:
Since you are almost done with the Writing in New Media program, can you enlighten me and the listeners even just the gist of what this program is about?
GUEST:
It's basically just learning about media, like how social media works and how to write and produce content for it, at least that's my general experience with this program.
HOST:
Oh I see, so coming into this course, of course you would have some sort of expectations as to what you will be learning, what you would be doing or the activities that kind of stuff. So for you what were your expectations when you started this program?
GUEST:
Uh yeah, when I started I had some expectations. But it's kinda funny because we had no professor until the middle point of our Midterms period.
HOST:
Oh really?
GUEST:
Yeah, so it was weird and hard because it was rushed and we did both our prelims and midterms in the span of like 2 to 3 weeks. But yeah, my expectations were learning how to handle media, and gain a new perspective on social media and how it influences and affects people. And regarding the activities, I expected that we would be doing more writing rather than content creating since it’s called Writing for New Media right?
HOST:
But what was the stuff that you did?
GUEST:
The ones I remember the most were creating a vlog, and like a podcast script. I never knew podcasts were scripted.
HOST:
There are some podcasts that have a very light script or flow that is followed, there are also some that aren't, it depends on the content really. An example is the questions I have prepared to ask you beforehand.
GUEST:
Yeah, I just recently learned that. Learning new stuff is always good. Knowledge is one of our greatest weapons after all.
HOST:
I agree. But before we move on I would like to share with you today’s sponsor.

Wuthering Waves is now available to download and play across platforms worldwide!
Download Wuthering Waves NOW and explore this novel world!
With that out of the way, back to the podcast.
HOST:
So out of all the experience that you gained within the program, what was your favorite?
GUEST:
Probably watching the different vlogs that our class did with the different assigned groups. It was fun to edit, and to see the content that we all put out, not to mention that we gained a decent amount of views on it.
HOST:
I should probably watch your group’s vlog, were you in it?
GUEST:
Ah no, I was only part of the planning and editing team.
HOST:
Oh, that’s a bummer, moving on. Obviously the experience with the program impacted your perspective on media, so how did the program impact or change your perspective on media and how will you be able to apply those learnings in the industry or even just in everyday life?
GUEST:
The experience made me realize that media has its pros and cons, while also having endless potential especially when its properly utilized. So I would probably try to maximize its potential by being creative and innovative with it if I ever make it to the industry. But in everyday life I would just enjoy the content as I normally would and use it for entertainment.
HOST:
Given that social media is already a part of our everyday lives, it would be normal for us to find new ways to use it. And yeah, our time is almost up, so is there anything you wanna say to our listeners before you go?
GUEST:
Always do your best on your studies, and remember to use social media and the internet responsibly. Thank you for listening to me yap about my experiences.
HOST:
That is all for today, thank you for tuning in to the Anything and Everything podcast. This is your host Arsene, and our guest Josh and we will see you on the next one.

A Rollercoaster Ride
By: Jericho Solis Podcast 🎧 Podcast Script 📄
[Opening music playing]
Welcome to another episode of The New Media podcast. Today I'm going to reflect on my experience in the New Media Writing course that I just finished up. It really has been quite the roller coaster ride!
[Intro] New media writing is all about embracing the digital age and using creative ways to connect with your audience. Whether it's through blogs, social media posts, or podcasts like this one, the possibilities are endless.
[Transition Music] So, what does the journey in new media writing look like? Well, it's a rollercoaster of creativity, innovation, and sometimes, a few roadblocks along the way. But hey, that's all part of the adventure, right?
[Transition Music] As writers in the digital age, we have the power to reach people all around the world with just a few clicks. It's a powerful tool that allows us to share our stories, ideas, and perspectives in ways we never thought possible.
When I first started the course, I'll admit I was a little unsure of myself. I wasn't positive that I had what it took to keep up with everything we'd be asked to do and learn. But I went into it with a positive attitude, telling myself that as long as I worked hard and did my best, I could accomplish anything.
Man, was that an understatement! This class really opened my eyes to the world of new media. One project that really stands out was when we had to create our own vlog from scratch. Going through the entire process, from planning to filming to editing, was so cool. Not only did I learn a ton, but I also got better at working with classmates I wasn't super close with before. We really bonded over that project.
Engaging in various experiences throughout my journey has been pivotal in shaping my perception of new media. These diverse encounters have definitively enlightened me to the fact that new media transcends beyond mere academic achievements; it is a canvas that demands collaboration, nurtures creativity, and necessitates consistent dedication to crafting high-quality content within set timelines. As I reflect on my growth and aspirations in the realm of new media writing, I have come to recognize that my paramount contributions lie in the realms of fostering originality and fostering innovation. Given the current digital landscape's inundation with content, it has become increasingly imperative to carve a distinctive niche to capture and retain audience attention. Embracing this reality, I am devoted to pushing the boundaries and exploring uncharted territories in content creation, thus ensuring a lasting impact and resonating presence in the fast-evolving world of new media.
[Closing music fades in] And that's what I want to focus on - experimenting with new styles and forms to create buzzworthy content. I believe that by pushing the boundaries of creativity and staying true to my authentic voice and perspective, I can truly captivate my audience and leave a lasting impact, regardless of my size as a content creator. The spark ignited within me through this course has filled me with a renewed sense of enthusiasm, propelling me towards the exciting journey of implementing the valuable insights I've gained and adapting to the ever-changing landscape of emerging digital platforms. I am looking forward to immersing myself in the process of honing my craft, refining my skills, and embracing the challenges that come with navigating this dynamic realm of media creation. Your receptiveness to my reflections on this transformative experience is greatly appreciated, and I am eager to continue sharing my growth and evolution with you as I embark on this thrilling adventure. Thank you for being a part of this journey!

A GENERATION OF CHRONICALLY ONLINE PEOPLE
By: Caguan, Emanuel
PODCAST
PODCAST SCRIPT
Well, Hello fellow college students out there. I know! some of you are probably too busy with your personal life or student life to have time to listen on another school submission task like this, but hey I get to express and write some of my nonsense and you all get to hear it, it's a fair trade come on now. (No it's not) and for those non college students that still might stumble upon this, congratulations and my apologies in advance because you just stumbled on another yapper (No not me) (Yes me)
Disclaimer: This is indeed for school purposes for our subject writing in new media under our course BMMA (Bachelors of Multimedia Arts)
Going back, I'm here to basically just share what I've been through with this subject, what I have learned, what I gained that I can contribute to people and the media.
Starting off with the subject experience and ending it briefly in a scale of 1 to 10!
I'm giving my personal experience on this subject a 9 out of 10.
The professor is chill, the school activities are fun and were made specifically for art inclined students, so thumbs up for that!
The subject's lessons are very comprehensible and I personally think has a bias spot for my generation (Gen Z) considering we're tackling mostly about media. (We all know how Gen Z dwell on literally any media platforms nowadays).
Definitely a subject that would be loved by aspiring journalists, writers, chronically online people and the list goes on.
The only one thing that lead me with a rating of 9 out of 10 was briefly because there was no present or available professor for a month in the start of the semester.
Since I've already gone through with my experience, I would also like to share the most remarkable experience I had which is also an activity (school purposes) that we took under our subject writing in new media.
The activity was basically about making a vlog and it's a group task, the vlog could be food reviews, tour vlogs, interviews and so on. After the completion of this activity we watched as a class the vlogs of each groups in our class (Sounds fun right?) well yes it was, but what made it remarkable aside from it being "fun", is that I was able to somehow gather interesting facts, information and knowledge from the other group's vlog. Each group had varieties of vlog styles, everyone went to different places, ate different kinds of food, got to talk to people too in different places. So as the watcher or spectator of those vlogs I was able to enjoy the entertainment of each group and at the same time- (as intended earlier) I was learning.
All I was able to think of was "Oh! people like these kind of food" "I didn't know about such practices" "Woah that's a cool view" "nice place, might visit it sometime" and summing all my thoughts I was like "Media indeed connects people" because of media we get to learn and explore more wonders in the world. it's not just because of vlogging specifically but media in general, because as we all know vlogging is just an instrument of media and there's more to it.
Now it got me thinking, I am a multimedia arts Student aspiring to become a Multimedia Artist. I am basically soon to be an instrument of multimedia, even right now I am considered as one already, but it also got me thinking- what can be my contribution to new media and the society we live in?
I'm not the type of artist that is good at vlogging, traveling and basically exploring places in general. My writing skills is not that even good, and I'm also not confident at using social media platforms. I only specialize in illustrating (drawing to be exact) and even with that said I'm confident that I can contribute to new media and in our society with what I am capable of, if people records vlogs to connect with people, writes literatures to inform and express to contribute in new media then I can do the same intent too with illustration making.
It's not yet settled that I'm guaranteed to contribute something, but I can envision clearly my plans future methods to it, and what I can guarantee is my desire and will to deliver illustrations that can connect to people, entertain and inform people, illustrations that will impact positively our current generation's media.
(I think I might've said a lot already)
But yeah, I might be yapping nonsense from the very beginning, and some of you might take this as an unserious blog considering I was aiming to give it a vibe like that, but I do hope I was able to express my thoughts clearly Hopefully you all were able to get most of it. (Some of you all are probably punching the air right now saying I wasted your time- but hey! I get to yap nonsense and you get to listen to my audacity) (Fair trade I guess?)
Before I drop the mic for good, Thank you!
(No seriously thank you whether I wasted your time or not)

𝙲𝙷𝙰[𝚃] 𝙷𝚄𝙸𝙳[𝙼𝙴]: MY JOURNEY IN WRITING IN NEW MEDIA BY: HUIDEM, CHARIS
PODCAST 🎙 PODCAST SCRIPT 📝
Podcast Script: My Journey in "Writing for New Media"
[INTRO BGM]
CHA[T] HUID[ME]: MY JOURNEY IN WRITING IN NEW MEDIA
= INTRODUCTION =
HOST: Hello! Hello! and welcome to CHA[T] HUID[ME]! I'm your host, DJ Cha, and today I'm excited to share my personal journey in the course 'Writing in New Media.' In this episode, I'll talk about the fun times during our class sessions, some of my memorable experiences that changed my view on new media platforms, and my thoughts on how I can contribute to this evolving field. So without further ado, let's get started!" [insert: music transition]
TOPIC 1: Fun During Class Sessions Host: Let me start by telling you guys about our class sessions. Our schedule for this subject, If I remember correctly, was from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, which, as you can imagine, is a pretty tiring time for most of us. By that time of the day, most of us had already been through a full day of activities—whether it's attending other classes, working, or just dealing with daily life. It's pretty easy to feel drained and mentally checked out. But despite the long day, our class was always lively and engaging. One thing that really stood out for me was how some of my classmates would crack jokes in the middle of discussions. It was like an unspoken tradition—we'd be deep in a serious topic, maybe discussing the history of new media or analyzing a case study, and suddenly someone would make a witty comment or share a funny meme related to the topic. It never really failed to lighten the mood and keep everyone awake. Moments like these created such a positive and enjoyable atmosphere, making the learning process a lot more fun. These light-hearted interactions not only made the class more bearable but also helped us bond as a section. Moreover, our professor encouraged this kind of interaction. She believed that learning should be engaging and that a good laugh could enhance our creativity and collaboration. She would often share her own stories and experiences in the new media industry, sometimes funny, sometimes challenging, but always insightful. And I think these stories gave us a real-world perspective and made the class discussions more relatable." [insert: music transition]
TOPIC 2: Memorable Experience Impacting My View of New Media Host: Now let’s move on to our next topic which is one of my memorable experiences that changed my view of new media. A specific experience that had a significant impact on my view of new media platforms was a performance task where we had to create a vlog. My group and I decided to visit a famous bakeshop called 'Primablend' in San Mateo Rizal. We spent an entire Sunday planning and the next day which is Monday filming the vlog. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a little adventure. We started our day early, meeting inside the school after class to discuss our plan. We brainstormed different segments for our vlog—introducing the bakeshop, and of course, tasting some of their best pastries. Each of us had a role to play: 2 of my classmates were the hosts, me and another member were in charge of the camera, and the others handled the other stuff behind the scenes. The energy was high, and we were all excited about the project. When we arrived at Primablend, we were welcomed with the sweet aroma of freshly baked goods. We set up our camera and started filming. My classmates who's the main vloggers, introduced the bakeshop, describing its cozy atmosphere and the variety of pastries on display. The highlight was definitely the taste test—we sampled a variety of pastries, and I can tell you, they were absolutely delicious. But the real eye-opener came after we posted the video online. To our surprise, it received a lot of comments and interactions from people who didn't even know us. Seeing strangers engage with our content, sharing their own experiences with Primablend, and even asking us for recommendations was incredibly rewarding. It was a heartwarming experience that made me realize the power of social media. This interaction made me think about how new media, particularly social media, can create connections and foster a sense of community despite physical distances. This experience showed me how new media can bring people together, allowing us to connect and engage from, basically, anywhere in the world. It was a sincere realization that social media is not just about sharing content; it's about building relationships and creating shared experiences. It emphasizes the potential of new media platforms to impact lives in meaningful ways, and it strengthened my belief in the positive power of digital communication."

TOPIC 3: My Contributions to the Course Host: And now on to the last topic of this episode, let's talk about my possible contribution to the course 'Writing in New Media.' This will not be long as I will just be basing on what I experienced and learned throughout my journey. Based on the experience that stood out to me, our Task Performance which is the Vlog, as a multimedia student, I think my possible contribution to this course is creating a personal vlog, so that I could start a platform where I regularly post my projects, reflections, and experiences throughout my journey not just in this course, but also to other related subject. This not only gives me a platform to showcase my work, but also helps me build an online community and share my learnings with a larger audience.

Writing for New Media
GENERATED VOICE:
The following episode is Rated PG, Parental Guidance should be observed for younger audience.
*INTRO MUSIC FADE IN*
HOST RENDHEL: Good Day! Good Life people! Welcome to the first episode of “TolentiKnows” where every week we learn new and exciting things in life! Ngayong Linggo, I learned about Writing for New Media and I will try to summarize everything I’ve learned and experienced in that course.
*INTRO MUSIC FADE OUT, UPBEAT BGM IN*
HOST RENDHEL: Looking back, New Media course had been a rollercoaster ride. I had my fair share of ups and downs all of the time we started the prelims without an instructor so we could go ahead and not attend the course. By the time we got a professor, I was lost with the section I was in. I am an irregular student that’s why I have a lot of sections to attend to, and this is the first time I am coming to class with them. BMMA401 blew past my expectations. They are the most lively bunch that I know of, and no one can even come close. I mostly attended this class  feeling dead already because of my 8am class but they do give me a boost when I am inside the classroom. I consider them to be the highlight of this course.
*Ad Interruption*
This podcast is brought to you by Solidify “Making your ideas come to life.”
HOST RENDHEL: Now we jump to the time that we now have a professor to teach us and she was amazing to say the least. Ma’am Elaine caught us up with the lessons we haven’t been able to discuss. She taught us just what we needed to learn and more! She made sure to make the discussion fun and interactive. She gave us tasks that fit the course lessons well! I personally enjoyed the feature writing where we researched about Primablend and my group mates came there to review their products and specialties.
HOST RENDHEL: Wait, someone from the comments says that the cakes felt like heaven; well that is true Mr. Commenter! Primablend was really well known for their pastries and cakes! All the writing too and groupworks are fun and interactive. I personally learned more about the communications styles that I can use to my advantage well and improve on my future ventures. Through this course, I was able to see the importance of communication in my everyday life.
COMMENT SECTION: What more can you contribute to the new media, Rendhel?
HOST RENDHEL: Excellent question “ILoveSlotMachine25”, what a name! As some of you might know, I am an illustrator, I am not new to the digital world! It is true that I am learning about a lot just now but that is good because I am still learning *laughs* Well after all that, I can now speak better with more intent, more stories to tell in a way you all haven’t seen from me before! With this course I was able to think more critically and create art and content that can both educate and entertain! I hope you all stay tuned for that because I’m telling y’all it’s worth it… *laughs*
HOST RENDHEL: Well that was it with our first episode done everyone! Come give yourselves a round of applause *applause sfx* I was thrilled answering more questions but unfortunately we do have a time limit. As we all know, every good thing must come to an end. I will see you all next week! I will shout our top commenters out for the next episode of “TolentiKnows” where every week we learn something new in life! I am your host Rendhel. Have a good night.

[OPENING MUSIC FADES IN]
Janalexis: Oh. Hello there. Has everyone been well? Before anything else, let me introduce myself first. My name is Janalexis Delos Reyes, and I actually just celebrated my birthday this last week of May! Sad to say, I am finally out of my teen years and my 20s have now welcomed me. Well, moving forward on my college life — I am already in 2nd year, taking BMMA, or Bachelor in Multimedia Arts at STI College Cubao. How has it been? Surely tiring, it is. I still get to have fun though, since BMMA really is one of my most dream course where I have already predicted that I would really enjoy learning there.
[OPENING MUSIC FADES OUT]
[ELECTRONIC BACKGROUND MUSIC FADES IN]
Janalexis: Now that I am already in my 2nd year and second semester… Oh, yeah! The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Exciting and sad at the same time, but at least I will finally get to take a long rest for a few months again. As for the courses I am taking this second semester, there is this one that have really piqued my interest aside from our major subjects. Writing for New Media, yes, that is the one! I have always loved writing and journaling in social media or even just in my note's app, so being able to learn from this subject felt exciting. Now that our way of communicating with one another kept innovating, through new media, it is not just limited to words anymore. Writing in new media is composed of images, comics, animation, presentations, websites, and videos. It is an on-demand access to content anywhere, anytime, interactive feedback, and creative participation. Amazing, is not it? I guess you already have an idea about what my podcast topic will all be about today, now that I have made some introduction for it.
Janalexis: Talking about my experiences while learning the Writing for New Media course — that is what our topic will be! The current generation was born during the peak of technological progress over the years. They were designed for a world where social media feed browsing is the norm and there has been internet access for some time. The learners of today are the members of the digital generation. The majority of today's teaching was customized to the students' level of experience with digital media. A PowerPoint presentation has replaced the traditional whiteboard or blackboard layout used for teaching. Reading that was once deliberate and slow has now become a skim and scan of appropriate material. For most people, especially writers and educators, the changes are overwhelming. However, the majority of digital gurus believe that there aren't many differences between how the previous age and the current generation consume information. The digital generation recognizes the depth of knowledge they can extensively and precisely explore because of the abundance of information and ease of access to it.
Janalexis: As for my journey in the course Writing for New Media, my expectations for it is to not be that difficult as we also enjoy learning. And I am glad that it actually went that way! Especially when our professor seems to usually have fun while teaching us every lecture classes. Shout out to Ma'am Francis! Because you know, when your professor tends to act like that while teaching, it will effectively impact the students positively most of the time. As for me, I like it that way as I would certainly feel that the professor has truly enthusiasm with doing their job, alongside interacting with the students. Honestly, there are times where the teaching method felt a little too quick to process — still effective, nevertheless.
Janalexis: New ways of writing, reading, and interacting were introduced by the development of new media technologies, particularly the Internet — and these have changed over the last few decades in response to advances in technology. Later, these newly acquired abilities gave rise to entirely new cultures adapted to the writers and online community's readership. The course truly helped me understand the new media platforms and the writing standards that go along with them. It also taught me how to use those platforms in more efficient and productive ways that will help me grow not only as a student, but also as a person. Twitter, now called as X, for example. That is probably my most used social media app ever since, for whenever I want to be updated of something, I would automatically open that one. As much as it has positive impacts toward millions of users, it also has a lot of negative ones — fake news and draining opinions coming from different users you would pass by every scroll you make. Hence, I have learned here to keep doing fact checks whenever I read news and learn to think first before tweeting or searching something so it would not have negative effects onto anyone, as well for myself.
Janalexis: Since the main objective of new media writing is to spread ideas and news from one mind to another, I believe that the best contribution I could bring to new media writing, based on everything I have learned throughout this course, would be to ensure that the information or message I post is always clear and understandable across a variety of audiences. What we write must also have credibility and acknowledge biases as disinformation, unreliable news, pure gossip and rumor are becoming increasingly prevalent in this socially mediated age. Writing for print media is different from writing for new media across disciplines since the latter's content is more highly accessible to a wider range of users, hence content creators must take into consideration about the nature of the audience.
There are so much more to talk about in this podcast, but I think that is it for now. It is no doubt that I have had a good experience while being educated from this course, Writing for New Media. Thank you for listening to my podcast! Once again, I am Janalexis Delos Reyes from BMMA401 and I am delighted to experience a wonderful journey while learning Writing for New Media!

PORTFOLIO 📄
Howdy! We are the BMMA401 students from STI College Cubao, and here lies our portfolio in compliance with the requirements of the Writing for New Media final task performance and practical exam which will include the Vlog, 2 Podcast Scripts, and 1 Audio.
➤ MIDTERMS PERFORMANCE TASK
Creating a VLOG with a content featuring whether the tourist spots, or tradition/culture/festival, or food, or product, in the area which one of our groupmate lives. Us, Group 4, decided to go for promoting a popularly known food business; Primablend, being the oldest bakeshop in San Mateo, Rizal and is established in 1970! Our vloggers truly had fun promoting, as well as eating almost all of the menus while enjoying their time at Primablend. Click the indicated link above to check out our vlog now!
➤ PRE-FINALS PERFORMANCE TASK
Featuring the Podcast Script we wrote in compliance of Pre-final TP which must talk about the changes that happen in the Philippines brought by the audience and their feedback to online content about the Philippines. We chose to revisit the brutal hostage crisis that occurred at Quirino Grandstand in Manila thirteen years ago as our podcast gave opinions with how massive the impact of media was while the crisis were happening. The link indicated above will show the entirety of the podcast script!
➤ FINALS PERFORMANCE TASK
Finals is at long last here! For this one, it is already an individual project wherein we were tasked to write another podcast script summarizing our experiences throughout the course Writing for New Media. The blog must express an insight regarding what the students can contribute to new media writing, including our journey and the specific impacts toward our view on the new media platforms and their dynamics while learning in the mentioned course.
Here are the members of BMMA401 - Group 4, including each of our podcast script and audio link in compliance with the requirements of the Writing for New Media final task performance.

➤ PRE-FINALS PERFORMANCE TASK PODCAST SCRIPT GROUP 4
THE CHANGES THAT HAPPENED IN THE PHILIPPINES BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE AUDIENCE AND THEIR FEEDBACKS TO ONLINE CONTENT ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES.
(PODCAST INTRO SOUND FADING IN)
(INTRODUCTION ; SERIOUS)
GENERATED VOICE: THE FOLLOWING EPISODE DEALS WITH VIOLENCE, GUNFIRE, ORGANIZED CRIME, MURDER, AND DEATH. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE TOPICS TO BE TALKED ABOUT IN THIS PODCAST ARE RATED R. FEEL FREE TO SKIP AS WE ARE GOING TO PROVIDE TIME STAMPS TO OTHER TOPICS THAT WE ARE GOING TO DISCUSS.
(CUTS TO THE SPEAKER, RENDHEL)
RENDHEL: WELCOME TO “WHEN IN MANILA” PODCAST WHERE WE TALK ABOUT “THE DARK SIDE OF THE COUNTRY WITH THE MOST GENEROUS PEOPLE, THE PHILIPPINES.” MY NAME IS RENDHEL. HOW IS EVERYONE? TODAY, WE ARE GOING TO REVISIT THE BRUTAL MASSACRE THAT HAPPENED AT QUIRINO GRANDSTAND IN MANILA.
WE ARE JOINED BY OUR GUEST, JOSHUA. WE’LL SEE WHAT HE CAN GIVE US REGARDING TODAY’S TOPIC.
LET US WELCOME OUR GUEST FOR TODAY’S EPISODE, JOSH! HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
MUSIC: (FADE IN)
JOSHUA: HEY, RENDHEL. EVERYTHING'S GOOD. HOW ABOUT YOU?
RENDHEL: DO YOU WANT TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO OUR AUDIENCE?
JOSHUA: WHAT’S UP? MY NAME IS JOSHUA. THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME TODAY.
RENDHEL: I HOPE YOU’RE READY FOR TODAY’S PODCAST. SHALL WE START?
JOSHUA: AS A MATTER OF FACT I AM. LET'S DO THIS!
RENDHEL: ALRIGHT SO, ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH THE MANILA HOSTAGE CRISIS WHERE FILIPINOS ARE STILL BOUND BY THE ECHOES OF THIS CONTROVERSIAL EVENT?
JOSHUA: AS A GEN Z, I WAS ACTUALLY ONLY SEVEN YEARS OLD WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURED. IT WAS 2010! I WAS IN 3RD GRADE AND THE ONLY THING THAT I WANT TO WATCH ON THE TELEVISION ARE CARTOONS. BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY PARENTS ARE WATCHING. THEY WENT FIRST WHEN IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE MY TURN BECAUSE IT WAS TIME FOR SPONGEBOB. I WAS THROWING TANTRUMS BECAUSE I COULDN’T WATCH MY FAVORITE SHOW.
RENDHEL: YES, I AGREE. MY MOTHER SUDDENLY CHANGED THE CHANNEL WHEN I WAS WATCHING DORAEMON, AND I REMEMBER CRYING BECAUSE OF THE FRUSTRATION.
BACK THEN, SINCE WE WERE JUST KIDS, WE WOULD NOT HAVE UNDERSTOOD HOW SERIOUS THAT SITUATION WAS. BUT NOW, LOOKING BACK AT IT… IT WAS SCARY, HUH?
JOSHUA: YEAH. I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE BEING PUT IN THAT KIND OF SITUATION. THERE WERE MANY CASUALTIES AND THE GOVERNMENT AND POLICE HANDLED THAT SITUATION POORLY.
RENDHEL: BUT IF YOU ASK ME WHAT MADE THE SITUATION WORSE WAS THE MEDIA, THEY WERE BROADCASTING THE EVENT LIVE ON TELEVISION, WHICH GAVE THE HOSTAGE TAKER INFORMATION AS TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING ON THE OUTSIDE. THEIR GREED WAS VERY OUTRAGEOUS.
JOSHUA: I KNOW RIGHT? ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY REVEALED THE LOCATION OF THE SNIPERS, THAT WAS VERY STUPID OF THEM SINCE SNIPER POSITIONS SHOULD BE HIDDEN TO THEIR TARGETS.
RENDHEL: I THINK THAT EVENT EXPOSED HOW INCOMPETENT OUR GOVERNMENT IS, AND ALSO HOW THE MEDIA MESSED IT UP BY THEIR HUNGER OF GOOD SCOOPS, THE SITUATION WORSENED WHEN THEY SHOWED THE BROTHER OF THE SUSPECT BEING ARRESTED.
JOSHUA: LOOKING BACK, THE HOSTAGE TAKER’S DEMANDS WAS PRETTY SIMPLE WHY COULDN'T THE GOVERNMENT GIVE THEM? OR SIMPLY PRETEND TO ACCEPT THE DEMANDS AND ARREST HIM AFTERWARDS? THEY EVEN MESSED UP AND MISCOMMUNICATED DURING THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS. THERE ARE SO MANY “WHAT IFS” SCENARIOS THAT WE CAN THINK OF REGARDING THAT EVENT.
RENDHEL: OH THERE DEFINITELY IS A LOT, BACK THEN WE HAVE VERY LITTLE INFORMATION WITH WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BUT NOW WE HAVE LOADS OF IT. AND THE SUSPECT WAS ALSO A VERY RESPECTABLE POLICEMAN WHO WAS REMOVED FROM HIS POSITION DUE TO FALSE ACCUSES AGAINST HIM IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY.
JOSHUA: OH YEAH, I THINK THERE WAS EVEN EVIDENCE THAT HE WAS INNOCENT. IF ONLY THEY LISTENED TO HIM THEN THE HOSTAGE TAKING WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
RENDHEL: I AGREE WITH YOU, BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN IF THE GOVERNMENT ASSIGNED THE SAF TO HANDLE THE SITUATION IMMEDIATELY INSTEAD OF THE SWAT TEAM.
JOSHUA: OH I THINK THAT ORDEAL COULD HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH FASTER SINCE THE SAF WAS MORE WELL EQUIPPED AND SUITED FOR THOSE KINDS OF SITUATION, IT WAS REALLY HANDLED POORLY BY THE HIGHER UPS.
RENDHEL: YEAH, INCOMPETENCE AT ITS FINEST. ANYWAY, TIME IS RUNNING LOW SO MAY I ASK WHAT’S YOUR FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE ISSUE AT HAND?
JOSHUA: WELL, HOPEFULLY THE GOVERNMENT LEARNED ITS LESSON TO BE MORE COMPETENT WITH THESE KIND OF SITUATIONS IN THE FUTURE. YOU CAN TELL THAT IT WAS THE LEADERS AND HIGHER UPS WHO HAD ISSUES SINCE THEY GAVE ORDERS THAT WERE HEADSCRATCHERS, AND WITH THE MEDIA I THINK YOU RARELY SEE EVENTS SUCH AS THESE BE BROADCASTED LIVE LIKE WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE, THE MEDIA IS SLIGHTLY MORE CAREFUL WITH WHAT THEY BROADCAST, ESPECIALLY IF ITS A LIVE BROADCAST. SO I CAN SAY THAT THE MEDIA IMPROVED BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOW WHAT THEY SHOULD DO AND SHOULDN'T.
RENDHEL: WHO WOULD’VE KNOWN THAT SUCH AN INCIDENT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN WE WERE THAT YOUNG AND WE WITNESSED IT, SO OF COURSE GIVEN THAT WE WERE STILL KIDS WE WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION FULLY. AND IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE WHICH MAKES THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED MUCH MORE SHOCKING TO EVERYONE.
JOSHUA: SINCE WE ARE ADULTS NOW AND IT HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO, WE HAVE MORE CONTEXT AND INSIGHT NOW OF THE EVENTS WHICH IS WHY WE UNDERSTAND IT MORE, AND WE DIDN'T HAVE YET BACK THEN.
RENDHEL: AND YEAH, WE WILL END IT THERE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSIGHTS TODAY (STATES GUEST’S NAME), I'M SURE WE WERE ABLE TO EDUCATE AND INFORM THOSE WHO ARE LISTENING TODAY.
JOSHUA: NO PROBLEM, RENDHEL. THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME ON YOUR PODCAST TODAY.
RENDHEL: THAT’S ABOUT IT FOR TODAY’S PODCAST, EVERYONE. WE WILL SEE YOU ON THE NEXT ONE.
