Naux finds this a ridiculous exercise, as evidenced by her copious commentary, and yet she's filled it out anyway. Well, there are worse ways to waste time.

HE DOESN'T EXPECT   her to seriously fill it out.   He doesn't expect anyone to, really,   unless they've been in the sheets together and wanted to signal interest in another round.   That was about it.   This, he finds, with the comments and everything, is almost satisfying. As well as, of course, an opportunity.

don't  get  me  wrong:  i  wasn't  suicidal.  thinking�� you're  going  to  die  and  wanting  to  die  are  two  totally  different  things.  i  didn't  have  a  death  wish.  (...)  sometimes  you  don't  care  if  it's  you  or  the  people  you're  hunting  that  die  ...  just  as  long  as  it  isn't  the  people  you're  leading.

INCREDIBLE, REALLY.   So much potential, there,   for a partner in crime.   Things have been dull lately.   Perhaps he could tempt them   to join him in livening the waiting room up with a few classics.   But first,   something has to be done about the score at hand. 

"The three empty squares must have you peeved - there has to be a way to fix this heinous injustice."   A pause for dramatic effect, of course.   "What say you we find some bleach?"   Run.

THERE'S MUCH TOO enticing a selection, here. He almost doesn't know where to begin.   Almost.   He remains Hawkeye Pierce, after all,   and spontaneity happens to come with the territory.

"Ah, my favorite Captain."   He takes his time, slithering 'round to Dutch with an arm snaked around his shoulder, draping just a centimeter short of his chest.   There's so much impulse control put into that motion,   though one wouldn't know it from the way he smirks.   "I am most intrigued by the few that suggest you're willing to help me spread the seeds of my devilish delight across camp. I should have expected it, really - but I was too blinded by the hope that all three of you would meet me behind the nurses' shower for a thorough physical."   He lets go, only to take him by a single shoulder.   "Come, my good man, come with me to the ends of the earth. Do you have experience with hammers?"

@scrubschanged is digging a certain type of grave.

HE GOES THROUGH   every square with deliberation to poke,   slipping blues up and down every single time he checks one.   He can't help it: the man is much too pleasant to tease.

"Three - the magic number, the charm, the very enticing composition rule."   And there flashes that ever-irritating grin.   "Someone's at high risk of the corrosive decay that is my affection."   He wags his finger,   terrible warning mangled into playful tone.     "I'll even count the eyes for you - sad is a derivative of soulful if you perceive misery to be an intrinsic state of the human soul. Which, as the goddess of luck and happenstance would have it, I do."

His actual type there, though he would flirt with just about anyone for the fuck of it because, repeat after me: Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce is a SLUT.

SAY WHAT YOU WILL   about the rebel doctor and his tiresome antics. It still stands true that morale, in the grasp of his tired hands, is but warm putty.   Extending   unassuming warmth   through verbiage coiled around itself to form   wrecks of sentences   was just something he naturally developed the need to do in this hell.   Miriam, today, becomes the subject of such soothing travesty.

The laugh is met,   as any laugh should be,   with a smile.   It still has some of his cunning, but it's almost boy-ish in the earnest curl of it.   Reaches the eyes in its own special way,   to the point of crow's feet peeking to say hello.  

"I'm partial to being smuggled in back pockets. Better view." 

This, at least, makes her laugh. The wan mask of exhaustion breaks open to reveal a young woman, sweetly adorned with freckles and a tiny overbite, rather than the dead-eyed nurse that's been standing with him for the last fifteen hours. She shakes her head a little. He's funny, she has to hand it to him. He is funny. Way too many men she's met were not.

"I think I won't make it farther than the O-club tonight. If you want to join me, I'll smuggle you in in my purse."

"BRIGHT LAD YOU ARE."   He flashes the world's most cunning smile, pointing at Dennis as though he were an exhibition.   "Hot flashes, sleep disturbance, mood changes ... Menopause."   Palms flit to the patient, who is very much able to hear this, and Hawkeye gives him a faux-suspicious look.   "I bet you're suffering from vaginal dryness, too, you little devil."   He has a point to make - a clear point if Dennis would just look past the insanity of his words.

He turns to him and tries to hint:   "Think about it. Allow that kernel of premature wisdom in you to grow and flourish into a mind. Free it. Be free with it. Think." 

my brows furrow, confusion very evident on my face as i look at the other, blinking a few times as i try to figure out what the heck he is talking about. "i'm ... sorry?" i shake my head from side to side, is he trying to make a joke. "i'm not ... teenagers don't go through menopause." my head tilts to the side, eyes narrowing in his direction. "are you trying to make a joke?"

A POUT IS BETTER   than nothing, though Hawkeye had hoped for a more enflamed display.   Oh, well.   We'll get her next time.   Right now, the very serious matter of her question must be addressed.

"The mortuary."   Swift and quick to the tongue, straight-faced shrugging form finding somewhere to sit.   "You grab a jeep, I'll pack our bags and let's get the hell out of here before someone wises up and resuscitates us."

Miriam leans her head back against the plywood with a dull thud. She peels the face mask off her face to finally give Hawkeye a disapproving frown. Never really managed to grow into a suitably pissed off look, her. All she manages is some sort of pout.

"And you look like you bought a lifetime subscription, so where do we go from here?"
