Reminder that the US bombed Iraq a day ago. Reminder that this attack has killed 16 Iraqis, many of whom were civilians. Reminder that Iraq has already suffered enough at the hands of US imperialism, that to this day itâs recovering from the aftermath of being defamed to the world as terrorists, from its cities being destroyed under the guise of âexterminating ISISâ (an echo of Israel decimating Palestine to âexterminate Hamas,â interesting), that the US has so many ulterior motives to continue encroaching upon Iraq that have nothing to do with their seemingly noble rationale, and that it does all this while funding Israelâs ongoing genocide of Palestinians (which are basically doing their dirty work of pushing further in on Arab territory). Itâs jarring that this is all happening on a world stage & yet nothing is being done to stop it. Hands off Iraq. Free Palestine. Hands off Iraq. Free Palestine.

i hate when americans get asked about the israeli/palestinian conflict and they say âwell itâs not really my place to have an opinionâ our country literally funds genocide against the palestinian people in the name of âdefenseâ it absolutely is our business, we should be as mad as we can as loudly as possible.Â

Journalist Anas Al-Sharif reports famine conditions in north Gaza. A full English translation is provided by Instagram user karim_ezzelden, which reads,
What's happening in Northern Gaza is a real famine due to the occupation forbidding the aid and the necessities of life. We are talking about the lack of thr basics that any civilian needs like flour, rice, canned food and any basic thing that's needed to continue life, there is a complete lack of them. We are talking about very high prices.
We are talking about lack of things, even fodder that were used as food to help the people's hunger doesn't exist. We are talking abot a crisis in the Gaza strip amid this drought and the lack of necessities that the people face due to the occupation's blockade on aid here in northern Gaza. I repeat, what's happening is a real famine, we are living in a famine here in northern Gaza.
There are no necessities of life.

Does anyone want a cute Palestine fact? In 1929, there were several proposals for the flag of Palestine from different newspapers and individuals in Palestine. One of these proposals was in a letter from Munir Dakak, who suggested a flag with an orange on it.
Oranges were exported out of Palestine in the mid-19th century and are commonly associated with the port city of Yafa (Jaffa). They remain a symbol of Palestinian art and literature; Ghassan Kanafani even wrote a short story about Al Nakba called âthe land of sad orangesâ.

Just like the watermelon and olives, oranges are also symbolic of Palestinian resistance and our ties to the land.
If the proposal had been accepted, the flag of Palestine couldâve looked a bit like this:

What to boycott NOW to help stop Israelâs unfolding genocide of Palestinians in Gaza
Reminder that boycotting DOES work, there is historic proof! Don't let anyone discourage you otherwise!
The BDS movement uses the historically successful method of targeted boycotts inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the US Civil Rights movement, the Indian anti-colonial struggle, among others worldwide.
We must strategically focus on a relatively smaller number of carefully selected companies and products for maximum impact. Companies that play a clear and direct role in Israelâs crimes and where there is real potential for winning, as was the case with, among others, G4S, Veolia, Orange, Ben & Jerryâs and Pillsbury. Compelling such huge, complicit companies, through strategic and context-sensitive boycott and divestment campaigns, to end their complicity in Israeli apartheid and war crimes against Palestinians sends a very powerful message to hundreds of other complicit companies that âyour time will come, so get out before itâs too late!â

I keep posting this because it's important people see the tricks the US Empire will pull in order to ensure the occupation of Palestine doesn't end.
When Netanyahu is removed and scapegoated for the crimes Israel has committed, his more moderate replacement will go on a media tour in order to repair Israel's image in the West and a diplomatic tour in order to restore diplomatic relations with the countries that have recalled their ambassadors or cut diplomatic ties entirely. The genocide we're witnessing will be treated like a mild mistake that will never happen again (that Palestinians have brought on themselves). More money will be allocated to Zionist groups in the West to ensure that the public doesn't turn on Israel again.
Meanwhile, Palestinians will continue to get imprisoned, tortured and killed, only now without the world paying attention (just like what happened after the 2021 war). It's our duty as people who are pro Palestine to ensure that this fails. We need to make sure they don't sweep the genocide under a rug. We need to make that Western politicians and journalists don't clean the blood off their hands in the same way we've spent 45 days countering Israeli propaganda

Can I ask what exactly entails being silent about what's going on? Is it to not post about it or not speak about it at all? I do my due diligence to learn and speak about it with irls but the few SM i have are private and all my mutuals are supporting Palestine, so I'm not sure how sharing works besides boosting posts /gen
im not an organizer or anything so your discretion is as good as mine, but imo âbeing silentâ applies where speaking would inform/influence others. like itâs not silence if im in the gc with my friends who are pro-palestine and we talk about something else, but it IS silence if im on my blog with thousands of followers and i donât share any of the resources ive seen. in general the bar i try to set for myself is âam i doing all i realistically can that might actually be helpful?â and social media is only part of that. donât forget to boycott and contact your representatives and go to protests if you can
