cue jhin putting a tea cake in jayce’s mouth as he speaks, patting his cheek soon after.  ❛  you talk too much.  ❜

some time ago, he might have bothered with asking. now, however, jayce feels confident enough in this age-old back-and-forth between them he simply removes the mask without asking; in the privacy of his workshop, the implication of revelation is not novelty—it's a demand. his hands shake just slightly, but he pays no mind to it as he leans for a kiss as soon as jhin's mouth is revealed. "took you long enough," jayce has a self-satisfied look to him despite how aging hasn't been kind to him.

it has been quite some time since their last meeting. the clicking of heeled boots is the only sound that fills the empty hallways of the estate that for a moment, jhin would think this place abandoned. but he knows his little hermit better than most  &  if memory served him right jayce is under a light, buried away in the depths of his workshop; fiddling with some odd invention or performing maintenance on his bulky, unsightly weapon. if you can even call it that, truly, if it was one thing jhin would bicker with jayce, it was over that hideous thing. a self-entertaining hum escaping him, jhin continues down the hall  &  he spots the broad back of the subject of his thoughts.

❛  as always, with your nose shoved into some other dusty invention.  ❜  he jests, his voice is smooth, pleased,  &  amused to no end. but jayce doesn’t move yet, doesn’t direct his attention towards jhin as he’s finishing up repairs on the object of his focus. some time ago, he’d demand his attention, he’d enforce his presence but instead, his hand is gentle as fingers comb through soft hair. crimson eyes gazing  &  watching ever so carefully, but he can feel the twitch under his administrations that has him grinning under his mask.  ❛  jayce.  ❜  he says, his tone asking for his attention  &  it’s only then does jayce put his tools down to get out of his seat to stand before him.

❛  so you’re still in the present.  ❜  jhin says, his grin growing as jayce gazes at him. a tilt of his head when jayce raises his hands  &  crimson eyes widen slightly at the suddenness of him removing his mask. jhin is quick to grasp his wrists, but he can feel the subtle shake they exude  &  it’s not long before jayce speaks that has him easing his shoulders. a simple grin painting scarred lips when familiar lips grace them. warm, soft,  &  slightly chapped; jhin melts against him, a low chuckle escaping him when they pull away. 

took you long enough.

that ever - familiar look on jayce’s face has jhin pushing his own hair back with a breathy laugh. ❛  well … never did i say i would make things easy for you, my dear.  ❜  the hand on jayce’s wrist is moved to cup his lover’s face carefully, his thumb rubbing against his cheekbone.  ❛  after all, when have we ever been easy to love?   ❜
