Never Been Kissed

Another Shakespeare retelling from the 90’s, Never Been Kissed stars Drew Barrymore as a nerdy reporter who goes back to high school undercover for a lifestyle piece for her magazine. She must relive her past high school trauma but manages to find love along the way. It’s based loosely on As You Like It and is a great comedy as well as a wonderful romantic Disney movie that you can watch on Disney+ now. It also features James Franco in his film debut.

La Dolce Vita (1960)

This movie is just a strings of moments that Marcello (the main guy) (on the left) has with intriguing and in their own way, beautiful women.

This movie has no grand meaning. But it’s a classic because of its simple dialogue and Italian swagger that transcends all barriers that subtitle bars seem to keep you behind.

It’s great.

A cute coming of age movie.

High school kids end the last day of high school with a massive party.

It’s really iconic and will make you miss being 17

Big Mouth

A funny, satirical explanation of everything that happens between the age of 11-15.

It’s embarrassing and raunchy and not something you watch at a family din din.

MindHunter

Holden and Bill attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches.

The chemistry between these two make it one of the best crime shows I’ve seen.

So easy to watch and is set in the best decade ever - the 70s✨✨✨

Which means, music is incredible, fashion is spectacular and the dialogues are smooooth.

A chem teacher and a wash out make meth.

A cult favourite.

Brooklyn Nine Nine

This one is special to me.

It’s a simple show about a CO, Ray Holt and his diverse, quirky team of odd detectives that solve crimes in Brooklyn.

The characters make the show.

Bojack Horseman

If you don’t want to be philosophically shut down by an incredibly depressed horsie, this isn’t the show for you. Also, you are probably a very specific type of person if you genuinely thought of that. Nice 👍🏾

Anyways, this horse was once a lead in a sit-com and now tries to comeback from years of booze infused self-loathing.

It’s a sad one.

The Crown

THIS SHOW 👏🏽 IS THE BEST 👏🏽 LOVE IT SO MUCH 👏🏽

It chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II (the one that’s still alive) from the 40s to modern times. From when she sat on the throne at 25 and young -naughty- Prince Phillip.

I need all the seasons all at once please. Thank you.

Powerful Regina King is the perfect actress to play Angela Abar and gives the role more than what we needed.

This show follows the troubled life of a 17 year old Rue (Zendaya), a drug addict fresh from rehab with no plans to stay clean.

The story not only surrounds her shortfalls but her incredibly vibrant friends and well, others.

This 2 season show will literally fuck you up.

A group of wealthy women’s lives shatter when a murder takes place in their idyllic town, unravelling a huge can of worms.

The cast is so versatile. I think every single one of them won an Emmy for their individual performances too.

The music, visuals and plot are incredible.

The Undoing

If Hugh Grant isn’t enough to get you to watch, his incredibly unlikeable character will for sure.

This show is a high suspense thriller that follows a wealthy family in New York that gets tangled into a web of crime and treachery.

A murder that seems obvious but never seems to completely make sense at the same time.

A 6 episode series that you’ll never want to stop watching.

This show is so worth the one episode a week wait.

Its got everything you need to stay hooked

A group of graduates compete for permanent positions at a top investment bank in London.

It’s funny, serious and has characters that pull you in easy.

Cool Runnings (1993)

It’s about ambitious Jamaicans that want to bobsleigh at the 1988 Winter Olympics.

It’s incredibly funny and sweet and the perfect family movie.

“Sanka Coffie: All I'm saying, mon, is if we walk Jamaican, talk Jamaican, and *is* Jamaican, then we sure as hell better bobsled Jamaican.”
