It’s vacation time, where are the arranged marriage au crew going? Who’s doing a joint trip with the other couples?

Ahh, Arranged Marriage AU, my beloved! It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything so I’m a bit rusty, but I hope you enjoy!

Of Tight Shirts & Chanel Perfume (Onew)

Whenever they get some free time, they absolutely love visiting their mountain cabin for a nice little getaway.

The place is probably a bit bigger than the average vacation cabin, but it’s by no means huge (it does come with a fair bit of land though.)

It’s a really cute and cozy place, having been built chalet-style with both the interior and exterior made almost completely out of wood logs and stone.

The cabin’s located in a rather secluded spot, which makes it the perfect place for a little ~romance~

There’s also a lovely wrap-around deck with a built-in hot tub, which they both really enjoy. And there’s a river that runs pretty much right next to the place, so they can enjoy a lot of other activities like swimming, sailing, fishing and, during the winter months, skating.

The property was actually kind of an impulse purchase. Jinki and Y/N had been fairly regular vacation renters for a few years, so when the owner (a lovely older lady) told them that she was going to be selling the cabin and retiring somewhere warmer, they didn’t even think twice and pretty much gave her the money right then and there.

Strawberry Kisses (Jonghyun)

Hmm, I think these two would really enjoy staycations.

Sometimes they’ll stay home and do a different day trip every day, and sometimes they’ll go somewhere a few hours away and experience everything the place has to offer.

Following an…interesting vacation experience involving a broken-down car, they now have a tradition where, every year, they’ll drive randomly or take the first bus/train they see and wherever they end up is where they spend their vacation.

This tradition has led to some really boring vacations, but also some really great ones.

Thanks to these trips, Y/N and Jonghyun have gotten really good at adapting to different situations. They’ve also learned how to make the best out of almost any situation.

Then Comes Love (Key)

Rather than just picking one specific destination, Kibum and Y/N’s vacations usually involve jumping between a few different places within a certain region.

They typically try to go to a new place for every vacation, but they do have a few favourites that they keep going back to (and if they really like a certain location, nine times out of ten they’ll eventually buy a house there.)

Whether they’re jet-setting across Europe or cruising the Caribbean, you just know Y/N and Key are doing it in style. Private jets, private yachts, five-star hotels, the whole nine yards.

It isn’t always glitz and glam though; they have taken quite a few “normal” vacations where, much like the Strawberry Kisses couple, they try to get the authentic experience of staying in whatever place(s) they’re visiting.

That being said, sometimes those “normal” vacations don’t always go so well (in fact, due to a somewhat disastrous stay in London during one of these trips, they now refuse to stay in bed and breakfasts.)

Mofrilelo (Minho)

You know how some people go on vacations to relax and unwind? Yeah, not these guys.

It is literally impossible for Minho and Y/N to sit around and do nothing while on vacation. Like seriously, if they wanted to spend their vacation just lounging around, they would’ve stayed home.

They’re not, like, going extreme rock climbing and riding jet skis every day, but you’d be hard-pressed to find them doing absolutely nothing (well, unless they need some time to recover from the aforementioned extreme rock climbing and jet skiing)

They also love getting the other couples together for joint vacations. It can be a bit difficult to work around everybody’s schedules, but they aim to do some sort of group trip at least once a year.

Midnight Musings (Taemin)

When this pair wants to take a trip, they either invite themselves tag along on one of the Of Tight Shirts & Chanel Perfume couple’s vacations, or go somewhere completely off-the-grid and nobody can contact them for like a week.

Seriously, nobody even knows where they go. Cottage in the forest? Amazon rainforest expedition? Exploring the Arctic Circle? It’s anyone’s guess.

To be honest, sometimes they don’t actually go anywhere. They just stay home, turn off their phones, and let everybody think they’re off in the middle of nowhere.

But shh, don’t tell the others.

This just put the biggest smile on my face! Thank you, and I'm glad you liked Strawberry Kisses (I'll admit, it's one of my personal favourites)

As for activity, I'd say I'm about half-active, if that makes sense. Like, I'm more than happy to answer questions and come up with things for preexisting AUs, but I haven't had the motivation to create anything entirely new (though I hope that'll change soon!)

So, I know I haven’t finished Disappearance AU, but I’m going to be honest, the ideas aren’t coming guys, so we’re going to leave that for another day. However, it’s been like three months since I’ve posted anything, and I want to change that, so if you have any ideas/requests for (preferably preexisting) AUs that you’d like to see, let me know!

Disappearance AU - Part 4

So, it has become very clear to JongKeyMinTae that Jinki is not a human and, when they ask, he doesn’t even try to deny it and pretty much tells them everything.

Long story short, Jinki (or Onew, though neither name is his actual name which is so long and difficult to pronounce that even he struggles with it) is from a planet that’s about 13 galaxies away from Earth. 

He had been sent to Earth in order to research its lifeforms, but somewhere along the way the coordinates and flight trajectory for his spaceship got messed up, and he wound up crash landing much closer to civilization than he intended. The landing activated some sort of defense mechanism which, in turn, caused every humanoid within a 25 mile radius to just kind of go *poof*

Nobody knew for sure how JongKeyMinTae managed to avoid vanishing, but the general consensus was that it was due to the mechanism being damaged in the crash.

However, the mechanism being damaged wasn’t a good thing by any means, since it was the only way they’d be able to get the vanished people back from wherever they had gone.

Luckily, it was repairable. However, repairing it required some...odd things, namely:

a newspaper

a rotary dial telephone

a fishing rod

a glass fishbowl

a fish (real or fake)

and a construction sign

Obviously Jinki didn’t exactly have those things on hand, so the five of them went back to town, found the minibus that JongKeyMinTae had been in when everybody disappeared, searched for a video tutorial on how to drive said minibus, and set off on what’d likely be the strangest road trip any of them would ever be on.

Four guys and an alien have the fate of an entire town resting on their shoulders, what could possibly go wrong?

Once I’m done the main storyline for Disappearance AU, I think I’ll do something based on the Atlantis repackage. Maybe...Mermaids? Or some kind of ocean explorers, not sure yet.

Disappearance AU - Part 3

After being chased by Jonghyun, Kibum, Minho, and Taemin for about 10 or so minutes, Jinki eventually leads them to a sort of desert-y area just outside of town.

And by “out of place,” I mean a giant flying saucer that certainly wasn’t there before.

Obviously four of the five men are stunned speechless, but Jinki just hits a button on his watch and enters the saucer. JongKiMinTae continue staring for a bit longer, but they eventually follow Jinki inside.

What they see upon entering is…not what they expected.

They kind of assumed that the interior of a flying saucer would be like they saw in movies. You know, all technological with a lot of buttons and switches, instead, it was like they stepped into a movie set for a film taking place in the 50s.

It was so weird. All the colours were super saturated, there was a giant billboard with UFOs on it, there was a random bench that was on fire, and Jinki was just there standing in the middle of it as if everything was completely normal.

At this point, everybody was fairly certain that Jinki wasn’t just a regular human. But if he wasn’t human, then what was he?

Nobody actually got around to asking that question, because when Jonghyun, Kibum, Minho, and Taemin entered the saucer, Jinki turned to them and said just one thing.

“Let’s get to work.”

Okay, so, Disappearance AU, we’ve already established that Jinki is a bit strange, right? Good, let’s go.

So within a few hours of finding him, JongKiMinTae realize that Jinki’s oddness wasn’t the result of, you know, the entire town disappearing.

The guy is just straight-up weird, and it’s almost like he’s...studying them...

Everybody’s kind of side-eying him, but he’s a nice enough guy so nobody really says anything.

Well...Not until after he finds out about the entire town disappearing.

Yeah, Jinki apparently missed the memo regarding a couple thousand people just going *poof*

He freaks out, like, even more than you would expect from a person who was just told that over 1000 people vanished.

Jinki starts pacing around with his hands on his head, muttering about miscalculations and trajectory and things like that.

The others are very confused. Like, the guy they had known for maybe three hours is acting as if the disappearances were his fault. But that obviously couldn’t be the case...Right?

Suddenly, Jinki stops pacing, looks up at the others, and just says “I need to fix this,” before bolting and JongKiMinTae, who evidently do not have a single shred of self-preservation instinct between them just look at each other and take off after him.

Where’s Jinki going? Why did he feel like he had to fix things? What happened to all the people? Are any of these questions going to get answered?

Whole town disappeared

A whole town, just *poof*, and not a blade of grass out of place or anything. The weirdest thing though, is that it was just that town. This wasn’t like a worldwide event or anything, it only happened in one small, out-of-the-way town.

Ok, I know I haven’t really done anything with Magic Shop AU yet, but it’s 2:00AM (at the time of me writing this), I’ve had this idea for hours, and I don’t want to forget it. I haven’t worked out all the fine details yet but just picture it: 

JongKeyMinTae are just average, ordinary, everyday people with average, ordinary, everyday lives. No special magical abilities or royal lineages or anything like that, just regular guys.

To be perfectly honest, they're kind of boring.

They all live in the same town, but they don’t know each other at all. Like, not even in a “hey, I went to school with that guy, don’t know a thing about him though” way.

However, that soon changed.

The day had started out as most days do. People were at work, kids were at school, all that stuff. By all accounts, everything was very mundane.

But then, at exactly 12:14PM, something...happened: almost the entire town disappeared.

We aren’t talking abducted by strange means, we’re talking literally poof there they were gone.

Strangely enough though, none of the people who were taking Transit Minibus 5 at the time disappeared. The driver disappeared, but none of the four passengers did.

Those four passengers were Jonghyun Kim, Kibum “Key” Kim, Minho Choi, and Taemin Lee.

Obviously the fact that their bus driver had disappeared into thin air was enough to alert the quartet that something was not right. After managing to stop the bus (which was quite the ordeal), the four men cautiously got off and began looking around. What they found led to more questions than answers:

Absolutely nothing was out of place. There were no overturned tables, no broken windows, there were no signs of any sort of violence or struggles whatsoever, everybody was just...gone.

Well, almost everybody. They managed to find one person : a very distraught man who said his name was Jinki.

Jinki was a bit...odd, but nothing about the situation the now-quintet had found themselves in was exactly normal, so the others thought little of it. Besides, he was probably just in shock or something.

The men search around for a bit longer, but they come up empty. The five of them were the only people left in town.

Not knowing what caused the disappearances or if it could happen to them, Jinki, Jonghyun, Kibum, Minho, and Taemin all decided to stick together to try to get to the bottom of things and, hopefully, find out how to get all the townspeople back. Would they succeed? Only time will tell.

Okay, I know I already have a Café AU, and I have multiple Supernatural/Magic AUs, but consider this…

Supernatural Café AU where OT5 are witches who run this little café in the middle of their city

The café is sort of a haven for the city’s supernatural creatures. Like, humans are 100% welcome, but they’d need to be invited by one of the supernatural patrons first (there are so many protective wards set up that humans can’t even find the place on their own)

The place has all your basic café fare, you know, coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, stuff like that, but it also has some more…interesting menu items, like pies that can change your hair colour or lattes that give you an hour of good luck

There’s also a little shop attached to the back where the boys sell things like potions, alchemical ingredients, and enchanted items

(But shh, they don’t officially have the proper permits for that, so don’t tell anyone)

Every so often the guys will come up with a new magical recipe idea and go to make it only to have everything blow up in their faces, sometimes literally

Usually literally

It’s always fine though. Sure, there’s purple smoke filling the building, Taemin and Key have switched bodies, Minho is like two feet tall, and Jonghyun has an alligator tail now, but it’s fine, everything is fine

(Everything is not fine and now Jinki has to read through like 15 giant spellbooks in order to find the proper reversal charms)

But yeah, just OT5 as witches in the big city doing their best

How would the superhero’s celebrate the holidays? Would they use their powers to cook the meal? Fly high in thr house to decorate? Use powers of speed to do last minute shopping?

Evil never takes a holiday (except on Halloween) and neither does SHINee5, though that doesn’t mean they don’t try to celebrate a bit!

So fun fact, Minho is forbidden from cooking with his fire powers. Let’s just say that there was an...incident involving some pepper and a poorly-timed sneeze and leave it at that (poor Taemin had a bald spot for three months.) His super speed, however, is great when it comes to stuff like whisking and chopping things so he’s definitely great to have around while cooking a holiday feast (when the guys actually manage to get enough free-time to have one that is.)

When it comes to decorating their apartment/base of operations, well...there’s always an attempt. Every year they say they’re going to go all out with decorations and then they get overrun with superhero duties and regular holiday stuff and it never happens. However, as their city’s "representative” superheroes, they play a part in the decoration of the city’s official Christmas tree. They fly around stringing lights and garland and hang baubles on the higher parts of the tree and then, when the tree’s all decorated, they join the mayor and some local schoolchildren in lighting the thing.

As for shopping, officially (a.k.a as far as Jinki’s concerned) they have never used their powers for their own personal gain. Unofficially, there is no proof tying Jonghyun and Key to the time all the lights in the mall went out for exactly one minute and thirty-seven seconds. Sure, they were in the mall when it happened, but there’s no evidence that suggests that they were the ones that caused the lights to go off just so they could cross a few last-in-stock items off their shopping lists without having to fight through a horde of shoppers all after the same items. 

(There’s also no way of proving that Minho runs just a teeny bit faster than humanly possible in order to grab items and get to the checkout area ahead of everybody else.)

Speaking of shopping and presents, every year the guys will buy just a massive amount of toys and games and children's books, wrap them up, and then suit-up and deliver them to the local children's’ hospital on Christmas Day. If they can, they’ll stick around for a few hours and hang out with the kiddos, just to try and bring them a little extra holiday cheer.

SHINee As Superheroes - Taemin’s Revelation

You couldn’t help dozing off as your professor droned on and on. You weren’t even quite sure what the lecture was about anymore. Subatomic particles? Shakespeare? The mating habits of bonobos? You didn’t even know what class you were in because you were just so tired.

Of all days, why did your boss have to choose Sunday as the day for their latest city-takeover attempt? Your first class on Monday started at 9AM and you had only gotten out of custody at 8AM.

Though, that was the life of a maniacal scientists’ sidekick assistant, wasn’t it? Wake up, help your boss with their latest scheme, get your ass handed to you by SHINee5, get arrested, spend all night in holding, get bailed out and lectured by SHINee5’s leader first thing in the morning, and then do it all over again a few days later.

You were so tired. The lecture was so boring, and the room was so, so warm. You were sitting all the way in the back, surely no one would notice if you just...took a...little...nap.

That “little” nap lasted for pretty much the entire class and probably would’ve gone on longer had the person sitting next to you, some guy named Taemin, not jabbed you awake.

Repeatedly.

With a pencil.

It was a rather rude awakening and you would have been quite disgruntled had Taemin not offered to send you his notes from the lecture.

Over time, you and Taemin worked out a bit of an arrangement. Whenever you were half (or fully) asleep in your shared classes due to “working late,” he’d make sure to get you a copy of that day’s notes. You did the same for him, no questions asked (though you did find how often he worked late to be a bit strange, you really couldn’t say anything though.)

On top of your little note-taking arrangement, something else had developed between you and Taemin: feelings. Though you would never admit it, you had developed a bit of a crush on your classmate.

So when he invited you over for a study-and-movie night, you obviously jumped at the chance, though, admittedly, not a whole lot of studying actually got done.

Look, it was a good movie, okay?

Things were going pretty well, but then you discovered something that really shook you up.

You had been walking back from the bathroom when you somehow tripped over your own two feet and ran into a wall. Now this wouldn’t have been a particularly noteworthy experience had you not accidentally run into a picture frame and proceed to knock it crooked, revealing something behind it.

It was a button, a small button about the size of a bottle cap. And while you did know better than to go around pushing random buttons, your curiosity got the better of you. So you pushed it.

You weren’t quite sure what you were expecting in the first place, but the wall opening up and revealing a whole other room definitely wasn’t it.

You cautiously poked your head in, and was shocked by how much the mystery room reminded you of your boss’s hideout: tech everywhere, an area that looked like it was used for practicing combat, something that looked like some sort of workbench, what was this room?

You were about to leave, knowing that you shouldn’t snoop any further, when you saw something that made your heart fall down into your stomach.

Right there, surrounded by glass on the far side of the room, were five identical charcoal-and-aqua super suits, each bearing an all-too-familiar diamond emblem on the upper-left breast.

Was this real? Taemin? A member of SHINee5? Well, that did explain the odd “work” hours. And the numerous injuries, some of which you were likely complicit in giving him…

I’m gonna be sick.

You needed to get out of there. Out of that room, out of that apartment, out of that neighbourhood. You just needed out.

And of course, just when you thought your day couldn’t get any worse, you (almost quite literally) ran into Taemin as soon as you left the secret room.

“Y/N?”

Oh no...

There was a look of utter confusion spread across Taemin’s face and you, well you had pretty much forgotten how to speak.

You were contemplating just making a break for it when you noticed Taemin’s shocked expression morph into...a smile?

“You’re surprised, aren’t you Y/N?” Taemin asked, casually wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “Pretty cool, huh? Me, a member of SHINee5!”

You replied with a nod, not willing to risk opening your mouth. Taemin, however, continued on.

“Just...don’t tell anyone, okay?”

And with a shaky voice, you could only say one word.

“Okay.”
