the way they moved was as fluid as water. each blow she threw he skilfully blocked & vice versa. sam a worthy opponent. he didn’t go easy on her because she was a woman, but kelly could tell that sometimes he was pulling his punches as to not inflict much injury. it only made her push even harder. she had been so trained on his hands that she forgot to anticipate his feet. as if he had read her mind, foot went behind her own, a pull from beneath her, throwing her form to the mats below them. quickly taking his place atop her, knees pinned either side her hips, keeping her flush to the surface & to him.
arms were swiftly pinned above her head with one strong hand, body undoubtedly caught between his & the floor beneath. there was an attempt at a wiggle to free herself from his clutches before she realised any more effort would be met with nothing. kelly was stuck, & he was grinning down at her like a cat who got the cream.
her chest rose & fell as she attempted to take control of her breathing, & her erratic heart rate at that. ❛ ❛ you cheated. that was a dirty move. ❜ ❜ was all she managed to say, a brow raised & perhaps even a little laugh. head on a swivel, expect the unexpected. her team would laugh at her right now, to have allowed him such an opening. kelly would know for next time.
