I am kinda fascinated by ads that shows me specific products they think I might like.

Today, the ads think I want a keyboard(true), a power supply(true), a soldering station (I am happy with my hanheld one) and a label maker (.. I never thought of it but yes)

And then BAM

Old but legend: Fullmetal alchemist. Which was my first and put me in a similiar state.

From what I have understood(cause I read the manga), watching the anime is a bit confusing, there are 2 animes, the first one (just called fullmetal alchemist) followed the manga for a bit then caught up so they went rogue, the 2nd anime called fullmetal alchemist brotherhood follows the manga and is the one usually recomended but it relied on people havibg watched the first one so kinda skimmed over certain parts.

What I am trying to say is read the manga as I did. It is actually a great time to read it because they started to publish the manga colorized in webtoon.

1 week into the apothecary diaries:

3 months into the apothecary diaries:

I have read the manhwa and majority of the light novels. At first, I naively assumed, that since this is my first ever anime there must be more stories similar to it.

How wrong I was. Frieren Beyond the end of the journey and Spy x Family managed to satisfy me for a very short moment but now I feel empty.

Nothing I start can live up to the potential. I cannot stop thinking about it. Theres a thirst in me that won't be satisfied by anything other than new chapters of the apothecary diaries.

I don't know what to do with myself. I keep watching the apothecary diaries edits hoping to fill that void.

It's over.

If emotional neglect(especially no touch) in childhood does affect physical growth (it does) and we are accepting that Drakes are neglectfull in that way (we are) then we also need to realize that Kon grew very swiftly but without any physical touch so he would also face the same issues and thus would be much shorther than his potential.

But Kon is a tactile person and Tim, recognizing touch is a thing children need would push himself.

What I am trying to say is the clone baby grows up to be a head taller then even Kon.

(I am kinda re reading the story, it is great)

To me it is the consistant way everyone is very smart.

Like, the corrupt kings are stupid and make rash desitions usually right? And sure, this king also does stupid things but some of his decisions make you go, hmm, okay he had the right education, he would have been able to survive being a king for this lonf. Like, the king doesn't wanna pay his due, what does he do? "Gives" her this "better" "gift" of getting married with anyone she would like, if the groom doesn't wanna marry, his family has to pay her. Effectively pushing the responsibility of paying her to a random noble family.

Faced with anything like this any FL would have stumbled. Nope, she recognizes what this is immidiatly and manages to take the reigns. By asking to mary (currently a noble not a royal ex) crown prince(the uno reverse memes). Effectively pushing the responsibility of paying her back to the crown.

Even many background characters. Even Carl's dead mother, Carl keeps saying things like "Lady Duffret has the same ambition my mother had", when does the dead mother of the good guy (who was getting cheated on) every been described as ambitious? But how the frick did they get to that point without ambition? And lord Duffret, his heirs might ve his sons but he gives the most important playing card of his family (the dovetail) to his daughter who is smart.

I don't know, the story is consistently great, now that it is comming to a close, I would 100% reccomend it.

no but really I went into The Age of Arrogance thinking it was going to be yet another "badass FL gets with royal prince in order to topple the corrupt royal family and get the prince on the throne" story, which is fine in itself. Many such cases. Many such cases being good or at least compelling stories (I will live the life of the villainess; Angelic Lady; I'm the queen in this life; The Cup of Vengeance is in your hands; et al). (If you want to have a wider range and add grand dukes and other senior peers to the list of ML that help topple the corrupt reigning family, add Leveling Up my husband to the max, For My Derelict Favorite, Cierra, Remarried Empress kind of and probably where I abdicate my title as empress is going, and that's only the ones that aren't explicitly set in fantasy Japan/Korea! also that's only the ones I am reading myself)

BUT NO! THE AGE OF ARROGANCE IS BETTER!

It's a story about an action girl who had to take up arms or literally die and have her people be wiped out. She enjoys fighting now that it's less of a life or death situation but she doesn't enjoy war. She wants the good of her people. Her husband and her act like actual medieval lords, as in they manage the estate, make sure their people are fed and clothed and the roofs are repaired. That's already two things that are often enough cast aside (one for blind blood lust, the other for no management or the minimum) that I would enjoy it!

But then! Aha! In a world populated by stories in which the temple/religion/church are always corrupt and the bad guys, The Age of Arrogance manages to make clear that 1) their religion isn't bad 2) the heroes are pious too, at least offscreen 3) the priest who allied with the bad guys is an heretics that was disavowed by the Church he pretends to serve.

So on top of the rest, you're telling me we have nuanced storytelling about religion? But wait, there's more!

On top of that, the tough woman we have as a female lead struggles with intimacy despite slowly falling in love! We don't have instant lust, we don't have red chibi faces thinking "aaargh i want to kiss him so bad it hurts"! We have slow progression in the story of an already married couple (political marriage) learning to be with each other!

Anyway it's neat.

I'm so pissed right now. I know that fabric has been declining in quality for a while but I just bought new pajamas from kmart and they are literally see through. Not just through one layer of fabric either; I can see through the leg, that is, through 2 layers of fabric. These aren't clothes. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have strained soup through cheesecloth thicker than these pants. These are men's flannel pajamas, the kind people wear in winter, and they are made if shittier thinner fabric than even the most bargain bin bullshit halloween costumes. This "flannel" feels like plastic and is thinner than a chux wipe. Why is this even for sale.
