How do you know Toe is fake? I don’t think they’re real but I just have this sinking feeling or something

Toe is fake for a number of reasons, Anon. Personally, Taylor’s real relationships (see with Abigail, Martha, Lily, Todrick etc) are never tactical nor are they ever seeming to be staged - everytime we get a pic of Toe it is by pap agencies (Tree’s favorite being Black Grid). That doesn’t seem right - surely there would be a couple of pics of them with fans or friends. Also, note how Taylor has NEVER said Joe in an interview, she’s never even really said ‘my boyfriend’ - interviewers have implied it, but she has NEVER outright said it. Finally, there are too many rumors and coincidences about both of them (re: Joe at Drama school in London and Taylor’s gay rumors since 2006) being gay, or LGBT+ (they only know how they identify) that have never been shut down. A lot of the public/locals do not buy her relationship or even know about it - that says a lot.

Joe is a male muse for the public, not her boyfriend or significant other in any way. 

I personally expect that Toe will be gone before June 2020. If not, then we can revisit this discussion then.

NOTHING MUCH HAPPENED BETWEEN TAYLOR AND HARRY UNTIL FALL 2012. EVEN THEN HARRY BARELY ACKNOWLEDGED THEY WERE DATING. YET SHE SUPPOSEDLY WROTE MUCH OF RED ABOUT HIM??! LET’S LOOK AT THE FACTS.

Taylor and Harry meet at the Kid’s Choice Awards.  She danced to their performance. Harry is newly 18. Taylor is 22. 

However unlike what many Haylor’s believe, after the show Taylor goes to Dianna Agron’s house. 

April 5

News reports that Taylor Swift and One Direction went to a pool party at Justin Bieber’s house.  Rumor has it Taylor told Justin she was interested in Harry and that the two exchanged numbers.

April 8

Fans think Harry and Taylor met up at the Bowery Hotel, but Taylor is there with Dianna and Harry is there with the band (including Louis). A source told Vanity Fair in 2013 AFTER THIS WAS ALL OVER about the April 2012 fling, describing it “a weekend where they got really close and he was all, like, ‘You’re amazing - I want to be with you. I want to do this.’

Dianna denies a love triangle with Taylor and Tim Tebow on Jimmy Kimmel. When Kimmel, 44, asked Agron if she was interested in dating Swift, 22, she laughed. “Wouldn’t that be juicy?” She then blew her a kiss.

Harry confirmed he and Taylor exchanged numbers and that they are just friends.

Nothing much happens between Harry and Taylor for many months

Harry is subsequently papped kissing Emily Ostilly. Then he is linked to Cara Delevigne. Taylor “dates” Connor Kennedy.

Taylor’s “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” single is released. 

September 6

Popstar reported that Harry and his bandmates watched Taylor’s final MTV Video Music Awards rehearsal. A group ate at LA’s Katsuya after. Harry and Taylor both took photos with fans.

Taylor papped for the last time with Connor Kenedy. Break up reported in October.

October 6

On the Jonathan Ross Show, Taylor hints that she is seeing someone and that he is good-looking. Hmm. Does she mean Connor? That’s not a secret.

October 7

Taylor and 1D performed at London’s Radio 1 Teen Awards, and Harry and Taylor reportedly hung out a lot backstage. The Sun reported Taylor was going to dinner with a member of the band. The dinner was subsequently canceled. When One Direction was later asked about the rumor during an Irish chat show appearance, Louis Tomlinson suggested that Harry “take this one”. However, Harry replied that he “didn’t get asked” to dinner.

Taylor’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” is released as a single.

October Seventeen Magazine

Harry says he is single. He names Taylor as one of his celebrity crushes, alongside Rihanna and Rita Ora, telling Seventeen: “She honestly couldn’t be a sweeter person. She’s genuinely nice and extremely talented, and she deserves everything she has.”

Taylor’s Red album is released.

November Cosmopolitan Magazine

Harry told Cosmopolitan that he was currently dating someone: “There’s someone I like. If you’re shown in the papers with other girls when you really like someone else, that’s difficult. But still, I think it’s important if you’re thinking about starting a relationship to do it away from the spotlight. I thought I [had a type] but this girl I like isn’t my ‘type’. It’s more about the person. How they act, their body language, if they can laugh at themselves. I find ambition really attractive too - if someone’s good at something they love doing. I want someone who is driven.” 

(Wow it’s gender neutral except for one reference to a girl he likes who isn’t his type. It’s almost as if this could be read entirely differently. Also almost like this is a planted story.)

November 7

Taylor wears a paper airplane necklace that seems to match Harry’s. It is not an actual match though. His is much wider. Harry had been wearing his since early October.

November 14

Harry flies from New York to LA and accompanies Taylor to a rehearsal for her X Factor performance. “Sources” say they were flirting.

November 22

1D’s second studio album, Take Me Home, is released.

December 2

Taylor and Harry are photographed at the zoo in Central Park. That night they have dinner with their mutual friend Ed Sheeran and Harry’s mom and stepdad. This is reported to be only their second date. 

But in early November Harry tells Cosmo he is dating someone.

Considering Harry’s earlier comment about starting relationships out of the spotlight it seems odd they would walk around NYC. What follows in the media show of December is even weirder.

December 3

Ed, the 1D boys, and Taylor stay out late at One Direction’s Madison Square Garden after party. They sing karaoke together. Harry and Taylor are papped arriving back at Taylor’s hotel at 4 am. Harry is papped leaving the hotel in the morning and the morning after that. This dramatic dancing photo was taken. 

December 6

Dianna joined the pair for dinner before they all went to Emma Stone’s birthday party.

December 7

The 1D boys are asked about Haylor. Louis is salty. He may have even said, “if that” after this.

December 10

Harry and Taylor fly together to London in her jet. Taylor attends One Direction’s performance on the finale of the X Factor. 

Other stunts happen

They fly in Taylor’s private jet. They feed birds and eat meals with family members in London and LA. They celebrate Taylor’s 23rd birthday together. 

December 13

IKYWT mv is released, starring a bad boy with a ship tattoo on his forearm.

December 18

Taylor goes with Harry while he gets a tattoo of a ship that is largely believed to be done in tandem with Louis, who got a compass tattoo by the same artist the next day.

December 20

Harry is asked about Taylor on the X Factor red carpet.  When the interviewer asks Harry what his thoughts on “Haylor” are Louis says, “I’d love to know!” Harry simply says, “I dunno.”  Louis then follows this comment up with, “It is what it is!” (which he’d later get tattooed on his chest) and they look at each other and laugh. In another interview on the red carpet he is asked if what he has with Taylor is a relationship and he says, “maybe, yeah.” MAYBE. 

December 21-24

They go on a ski trip. There is a snowmobile accident. Harry injures his chin. (Out of the Woods is likely referencing this event.)

December 31

Harry does not attend Taylor’s performance at Dick Clark’s Rockin New Year’s Eve, but does kiss her on camera at midnight. Wow Harry looks thrilled!

January 4 2013

The infamous breakup on the Virgin Islands. Taylor goes home looking dejected.

Taylor goes on to make every effort to tie Red songs to Harry. January 5 2013 she tweets “till you put me down” a lyric from “I Knew You Were Trouble” to tie Harry to the song. 

She does a mock British accent during her Grammy performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” followed by thanking the inspiration of her song. I can’t honestly understand how she managed to get the ship tattoo to work out but somehow she did, making fans think IKYWT was definitely about Harry. 

April 16 2013

Stars Daily published an article claiming Dianna and Taylor were together. It went viral. 

This added pressure made it especially important that Taylor continue her bearding and song inspiration narrative. So Taylor continued to write songs with lyrical references to Harry on 1989 (snowmobile crash, Style, etc.). She even uses the airplane necklace in the Out of the Woods mv.

So what exactly happened?

There was initial unfounded speculation between the two in early 2012. It was encouraged by one or both of their PR teams. Meanwhile, Taylor was involved with Dianna and Harry was involved with Louis. They both needed a beard.

At the end of 2012 both put out new albums, promoted in part by their “relationship”. Taylor was able to construct a very public narrative that supported her lyrics about toxic on and off relationships. She was also able to distract from Dianna, which was an actual concern given Jimmy Kimmel’s line of questioning in April 2012. 

Harry was retroactively described as a cheater via “sources”, fan narratives, and suggestive lyrics/interviews/mv details. A lot of this centered around the photos of him kissing Emily O, but he Taylor had barely interacted at that point. They were not dating or stunting. It does not appear to me that they decided to actively beard until later that year. Even then, the beginning was a bit sloppy with contradictory reports about when they began dating. This worked in Taylor’s favor for the narrative of a messy on and off relationship.

Can anyone else chime in with important information for how the timeline came together and most importantly why Taylor was interested in bearding with Harry?

Late Stage Kaylor and Beyond

Okay congratulations we’ve almost reached the end of this shitshow. Let’s find out what our favorite promotional fwb did after they were done with what seems like the formal publicity contract (i.e. three years exactly from November 2013 to November 2016)?

23 November 2016 - Taylor comments fire emojis on Lily Donaldson’s Instagram. (Tily nation rise?!)

24 November 2016 - Taylor hosts Friendsgiving at her house in Rhode Island. Guests include Lily D, Lily A, and Todrick. Lily D posts on her snapchat that her uber driver (Taylor) is “so pretty.” Karlie is noticeably either not invited or not interested in attending. Maybe Josh isn’t invited and she doesn’t want to go alone. Either way, she’s not fucking there. 

26 November 2016 - Where does Karlie spend the holidays? With her mom. Presumably in St Louis. 

10 December 2016 - Karlie makes her first post from Australia. Her IG implies this was a sponsored trip by David Jones. Another post about it here. 

11 December 2016 - Karlie posts a kayaking picture from South Wales. 

12 December 2016 - More posts from Australia.

13 December 2016 - Karlie wishes Taylor a happy birthday in a veeery gushy post. However, she is in AUSTRALIA. Many of Taylor’s other friends post gorgeous Polaroids of Tay too. Taylor goes and likes Martha’s, Gigi’s, Lily D’s, Lily A’s, Claire’s, Abi’s and even Camila Cabello’s - but she does not bother to like Karlie’s. Based on where Taylor’s birthday cake is from, she spent the day in London. So Karlie and Taylor were not only on completely different continents and so thoroughly not in touch, that Taylor didn’t even bother to like that gushy birthday post. And, no, this was not at the behest of Tay’s team - if it was, if this was part of a planned period of darkness Karlie would not have written a post about how blessed she is to have Taylor as her “friend, sister and partner in crime.” It’s actually just a bit cringe, all things considered. 

14 December 2016 - Karlie leaves Australia and has a layover in Honolulu.

24 December 2016 - Taylor spends Christmas in Nashville.

29 December 2016 - The Three X polaroid that was included in in the Reputation photobook is taken by whoever Taylor is hiding in London with.

31 December 2016 - Joshlie attend Roman Abramovic’s NYE bash in St Barth’s. Taylor apparently spends it in London with Joe. Joe has NYE photos that look like they were taken in Taylor’s house in London. Regardless is Taylor did or did not spend it with Joe, we know that she did not spend it with Karlie. 

3 January 2017 - Taylor diaries that she’s “essentially based in London” and that “we have been together and no one has found out for three months.” (This could be three months with Joe from September 28 OR three months from Tily’s Halloween party. Either way, not Karlie).

8 January 2017 - Taylor and Zayn film the I Don’t Wanna Live Forever MV in London. 

9 January 2017 - A Jewish journalist tweets about Karlie’s ongoing conversion and rumors of a Kaylor breakup x x x She is not an insider - and she could be joking regarding Kaylor - but either way the timeline stacks. 

20 January 2017 - Trump’s inauguration. Josh attends with his family. Josh posts a pic of himself and his brother in the White House, which he eventually goes on to delete. 

23 January 2017 - Josh goes to the Women’s March without Karlie. This is actually not that weird because he was in DC without her (she either skipped or was not invited to the inauguration).  

4 February 2017 - Taylor performs in Houston and says it’s her only show for 2017. The performance is very Reputation-esque, suggesting Taylor has already figured out her concept for the next album.

17 February 2017 - Lily posts a video where Taylor’s voice appears in the background (could be in NYC – where Lily just was for the Fendi launch – or in London).

18 February 2017 - Taylor is spotted by a fan wearing a brown wig in London. Hetlors start to suspect she’s reconnected with Tom Hiddleston, which is hilarious in hindsight. 

19 February 2017 - Lily papped in London. There is another weird possible fan sighting of Taylor in London. More info is gathered from the first source.

24 February 2017 - Little Big Town performs in Nashville and says Taylor can’t perform with them because she’s in London (source tweet is now deleted). Here’s an IG comment claiming the same thing.

25 February 2017 - a now deleted tweet from a country music journalist states quite categorically that Taylor is in London (possibly the same as above).

13 March 2017 - A very weird pic is posted of Joshlie in Italy is posted with a motivational quote by Josh as the caption. Idk what happened, but clearly Joshlie visited Italy at some stage.

27 March 2017 - Perez Hilton says on his podcast that Taylor has been spending a lot of time in London lately when asked if Hiddleswift are back together.

31 March 2017 - Taylor is spotted in Nashville. Rumors circulate she’s recording a new album.

10 April 2017 - Karlie posts a camping picture and Josh comments with laugh emojis.

4 July 2017 - It’s reported that Taylor spends the 4th of July with her parents (and possibly Joe) at her Rhode Island home.

27 July 2017 - Taylor and Joe are papped with umbrellas in NYC.

Summer 2017 - Tay allegedly lives at Cara Delevigne’s in London with Joe. This is a weird story, but given Cara lived at Tay’s in the summer of 2016 it seems feasible. It’s possible Taylor and Cara both dislike living alone and when they’re in the same city they find it an easy way to deal. 

3 August 2017 - Karlie’s birthday. Taylor does not wish her happy birthday.

27 August 2017  - Look What You Made Me Do MV is released. The opening scene features a Met Gala 2014 Taylor being buried – the second time this night is being referenced in a music video by Taylor. That look is also one of the only Taylors left standing at the end of the MV, making it the only one without a life-defining pop culture moment attached to it, and she stands in the center of the other girls, specifically drawing attention to the look. Taylor swings in a gold cage, referencing “So It Goes.” There’s a “pussy magnet” Squad factory scene featuring Lily Donaldson as Taylor struts around a bunch of identical-looking half-naked women in BDSM gear. The remaining members of Taylor’s squad are on her You Belong With Me “Junior Jewels” t-shirt. Karlie is noticeably absent, starting media speculation that the two are no longer friends.

9 September 2017 - Taylor and Joe are papped outside Taylor’s Cornelia Street apartment in NYC.

26 September 2017 - Josh attends the Royal Academy Gala, apparently without Karlie.

11 October 2017 - Taylor and Joe’s brother Patrick visit a fan in London who is Patrick’s friend’s little sister.

13 October 2017 - London Secret Session.

16 October 2017 - Taylor films a music video in London. (Endgame?)

18 October 2017 - Rhode Island Secret Session. Taylor tells everyone that Gorgeous is about her “angel boyfriend of one year” and then likes someone’s post on Tumblr announcing it.

28 December 2017 - Joe is spotted at the London airport to see Taylor for New Years. Then he’s spotted at LAX.

2017 Conclusion: Taylor was living in London. She was spending time with Lily, Cara, Joe, etc. there and writing what would become the rest of Reputation. In the summer, she went back to Nashville to record the album, where she was papped with Joe for the first time. The squad was dissolved, and with it went Karlie kompletely. Taylor used Joe to cover songs written while she was with Karlie and bearding with Calvin because she hated Calvin and didn’t want to give him any songs, putting holes in the hetlor timeline but not necessarily making Joe any less real. 

Meanwhile, Josh and Karlie were making inroads and continuing to live their life as two ridiculously good looking 1%ers, taking holidays together and just generally living their best lives. 

4 January 2018 - Karlie posts an IG video with a caption referencing Katy’s Taylor diss track, Swish Swish.

14 January 2018 - Joe watches the Prada show at Milan Fashion Week.

27 January 2018 - Both Taylor and Cara are spotted in Italy, causing speculation among Swifties that Taylor came to Milan with Joe. 31 January 2018 - Calvin Harris tweets that he “grew a beard” to be taken seriously by the Grammys, possibly outing Taylor.

7 February 2018 - Karlie is papped hanging out with Katy, suggesting to the press that she and Taylor are no longer friends. 

9 February 2018 - Taylor talks about playing online scrabble with Joe in the Endgame BTS video.

20 February 2018 - Taylor is spotted in Big Sur. Speculation it’s with Joe (his birthday is 21 Feb) but nobody ever spots him so this is hetlor speculation (although reportedly the men who posted these hawk pictures did follow Joe on Instagram later that day). The hawk from this trip is included in the Lover lyric video - which hints a connection between this trip and whoever her Lover is (likely but not definitively Joe…)

24 February 2018 - Karlie posts a pic with her sister from that general part of the world which leads some to suspect they meet up/are there together. However, they are in fact 2 hours apart. 

7 March 2018 - Joe and Taylor are papped hiking in Malibu because “dark jeans and your Nikes.” To claim Joe isn’t used for promotion is ridiculous and naive. 

March 2018 - Vicky Ward says Joshlie is broken up.

12 March 2018 - Delicate MV released with Joe’s Deli, but admittedly a woman in the final bar scene that looks like Karlie. 

25 March 2018 - Josh donates $50K to March for Our Lives and he and Karlie attend the March. It’s unclear if they’re back on already or just there as friends. 

4 April 2018 - A profile of Karlie mentions the declining “friendship” with Taylor and also mentions her ongoing relationship with Josh. She talks about being private - possibly because this interview would have been given when Joshlie were “off” but by this stage they’d have been back together and/or she didn’t want to admit that to the interviewer. 

7 April 2018 - Joshlie out in NYC. They seem to be back together.

13 April 2018 - Taylor covers September and changes the lyrics to “28th night of September,” backdating her and Joe’s anniversary. Spotify says she covered the song because it has a personal significance to one of her relationships.

22 April 2018 - Karlie posts a pic of herself in Israel. She goes on to post a couple more and later her and Josh join friends in Jordan. There is speculation that the Israel trip was conversion related. 

24 April 2018 - A tumblr user claiming to be a friend of Joe’s family says that Taylor helped paint Patrick’s wall once. This pic seems to be from that day and this one. The Polaroids are only released a full year later, so this girl does seem to know her Alwyn family anecdotes. 

26 April 2018 - The same tumblr user claims to know the story of Taylor meeting Joe’s parents for the first time.

28 April 2018 - Joshlie out in NYC so they’re clearly back home although insta throwbacks to the Middle Eastern holiday continue.

2 June 2018 - Reputation in Glendale. Taylor dedicates Delicate to her LGBTQ fans and gives a speech about it that sounds a lot like she’s almost gonna come out.

2018 Conclusion: Whatever relationship Taylor and Joe have grew deeper throughout the year, leading to more organic sightings of them outside traditional PR walks. Taylor supported his two movies and he supported her on tour. They spent both Christmas and New Year’s Eve together and Joe was included in other dinners and events with Taylor’s non-famous friends. Taylor left behind Big Machine to start a new chapter in her music life.

Meanwhile Josh and Karlie were moving forward. They got engaged and then got married. 

Karlie was still trying to insist to the press that she and Taylor were friends, despite Taylor’s stonewalling her, although she didn’t seem to be able to resist throwing shade on the down low a few times. Messy exes much?

Scooter Braun, manager of Kanye and Justin Bieber, a man who Taylor despises, buys Big Machine Records – and, consequently, Taylor’s masters – from Scott Borchetta and BMR. In return, Scott gets a position on the board of Ithaca Holdings. Ithaca is backed by the Carlyle group, which in turn, means it’s funded by the Kushners, including Josh. Karlie, who is married to one of the people who essentially owns Tay’s work, at the time was being managed by Scooter (he’d even gone to her wedding!), likes a tweet shading Taylor and then posts some pretty pictures of herself on Instagram, causing Swifties to go after her.

1 July 2019 - Josh posts full PDA with Karlie. 

3 July 2019 - Perez Hilton reports on his YouTube channel that Karlie and Taylor are in a feud because Karlie leaked personal information about Taylor to Scooter. Ashley Avignone and Claire Winter, who are two of Taylor’s closest friends and have been since way back in the Speak Now/Red eras, like Perez’s video on Twitter, seemingly endorsing his claims about Karlie.

10 July 2019 - Taylor performs at the Prime Day concert. Ashley posts an IG story during Delicate where she says “Taylor can’t stop looking at him OMG” so fans assume Joe was there. Another fan says she saw him there.

“Every domino fell,” she says bitterly. “It became really terrifying for anyone to even know where I was. And I felt completely incapable of doing or saying anything publicly, at all. Even about my music. I always said I wouldn’t talk about what was happening personally, because that was a personal time.” She won’t get into specifics. “I just need some things that are mine,” she despairs. “Just some things.””

She compares that year to being hit by a tidal wave. “You can either stand there and let the wave crash into you, and you can try as hard as you can to fight something that’s more powerful and bigger than you,” she says. “Or you can dive under the water, hold your breath, wait for it to pass and while you’re down there, try to learn something. Why was I in that part of the ocean? There were clearly signs that said: Rip tide! Undertow! Don’t swim! There are no lifeguards!” She’s on a roll. “Why was I there? Why was I trusting people I trusted? Why was I letting people into my life the way I was letting them in? What was I doing that caused this?”

Clearly, there was much more happening in her life at that time than just the public Kanye drama. The back and forth with Karlie, especially looking back at it from a post-Masters Heist perspective, certainly seems like it could be one of those “dominos” she’s talking about here. Or even the riptide current she trusted against her better judgement (Wildest Dreams, anyone?).

25 August 2019 - Joshlie are in Monterey and Big Sur together.

27 August 2019 - same angle of Karlie as 2016 of Karlie in Big Sur but this is a new outfit and new filters suggesting Josh has gotten better at pics. And Karlie posts about the trip on her stories, so if it’s a latergram it’s coordinated.

8 December 2019 - Taylor performs at the Jingle Bell Ball. Joe is seen supporting her.

12 December 2019 - Taylor is presented with Billboard’s Woman of the Decade Award. In her speech, she makes digs at those who have sided with Scooter (presumably including Karlie):

13 December 2019 - Karlie throws the Klossy Holiday Party on Taylor’s birthday. Josh attends and takes pics with her sisters. Taylor hosts her birthday party and Joe attends. LOL at Karlie planning a Holiday party on Taylor’s birthday, effectively forcing any remaining shared friends to choose between them. This is the first year since 2014 that Karlie has not wished Taylor happy birthday but given all of the posts since 2016 have been lukewarm, it’s not exactly a shock to anyone but strong Kaylors.

16 December 2019 - Taylor goes to Cats premiere with Joe. Multiple fan accounts spot him.

2019 Conclusion: Karlie and Taylor were clearly NO LONGER on even semi-neutral terms. Karlie had made her bed (figuratively and literally) and it wasn’t with Taylor. Whatever good feelings Taylor had left for Karlie are gone, and she seems to have grieved their relationship somewhat even though they had been over for years by then. It’s always hard to see an ex - especially one that never happened with full commitment - moving on. Much more stabbing you in the back. The fact that they stopped hanging out so thoroughly before the Masters Heist even happened pokes holes in the het narrative too. Sure, they didn’t need to be close… But surely Taylor could’ve gone to one of Karlie’s weddings? Or at least posted about it?

Nevertheless, Taylor was growing happier in her personal life and finding her voice in terms of politics as per her documentary. Taylor and Joe were still hanging out and publicly supporting each other’s careers. Taylor released the first album she owned herself and was happy about that, despite the horrifics of the Masters situation.

1 January 2020 - Singer Matthew Crane performs for Taylor and Joe on New Years in the Maldives. Abigail and other friends are also there.

6 January 2020 - Taylor and Joe are publicly together at the Golden Globes. They attend a few afterparties together.

Sometime pre-quarantine - Taylor writes my tears ricochet, the first song to be written for folklore. It was possibly written just after Lover finished being written, as Taylor said for Miss Americana press that she kept going back to the studio to write even after Lover was finished. 

21 March 2020 - The real Famous phone call between Kanye and Taylor leaks. Cue #KanyeWestIsOverParty.

27 March 2020 - A video of Joe playing tennis at Taylor’s house surfaces on Jennifer Lawrence’s assistant’s facebook page.

2 April 2020 - Karlie goes on Diane Von Furstenberg’s podcast and talks about her relationship with Josh:

“I absolutely met, married and am madly in love with my soulmate,” Karlie shared when discussing Joshua. “He is truly my partner. He is my partner in life. He is my best friend. He is my other half. I didn’t know that I could love someone in this kind of way and I feel like I’ve almost grown up with him. I met him when I was 19 and I think there’s a lot of growing into myself that I still was doing when I first met him and still am to this day.”

Age differences aside, this almost seems to imply that Josh gave Karlie some space to “find herself” throughout the course of their early relationship, and possibly figure out her sexuality in the process – something that fits with everything we’ve said so far. In this podcast, Karlie also says she was feeling professionally unfulfilled around the time she turned 21, so it seems like Karlie was a little restless both personally and professionally at the time, making it make sense her and Josh may have taken some breaks throughout the next two years while she figured it all out.

Late April 2020 - Taylor approaches Aaron Dessner about working together for folklore. She had written “some songs at an earlier stage” with Jack Antonoff at this point. 

22 April 2020 - Karlie posts the Burma photo again for Earth day. What’s she covering up at this point, I wonder? 😂

23 April 2020 - Taylor and Joe send flowers to Gigi for her birthday.

28 April 2020 - Taylor sends Aaron Dessner the cardigan voice memo.

29 April 2020 - Joe posts photos of Taylor’s cat on his IG story. He also posts a picture of himself clearly taken in Taylor’s house.

8 May 2020 - Karlie posts a photo of her and Josh captioned “weekly scroll ♥️”

13 May 2020 - Joe posts more photos of Taylor’s cats.

14 May 2020 - Josh and Karlie are papped kissing on their balcony.

19 May 2020 - Josh posts a throwback photo of Karlie from five years ago.

20 May 2020 - Joe gives an interview where he says he’s quarantining in the US. The interview is not to a big publication. It’s for his alma mater. Now, obviously, it’s possible he’s lying. But why would he lie in a random interview with his alma mater? What would he stand to gain? Not clout. Not media coverage (no mainstream entertainment publication covered this interview at alll). Obviously you can believe what you want to believe, but this doesn’t seem like a lie. So Joe most likely did quarantine in America, with Taylor. 

We are not putting this in here to attempt to prove Joe is real, but rather to demonstrate to former strong Kaylors how little evidence there is for Karlie and Taylor even liking each other after the masters heist, let alone being #togetherforever, using Joe as a comparison for what a close relationship to Taylor with a PR element (as Kaylor had at their height) would look like.

Mid-May 2020 - Taylor and Aaron write cardigan first, then seven, then peace. Then mad woman and epiphany. The last songs they write are the 1 and hoax.

29 May 2020 - Taylor calls out Trump on Twitter. Karlie likes the tweet. Joe does too.

12 June 2020 - Karlie papped Facetiming someone on a beach in LA.

11 July 2020 - Karlie and Josh papped in LA, and it maybe looks like they’re arguing. We suspect Taylor gives her exes heads up about albums, so it is in the realm of possibility Taylor has sent along illicit affairs (among other songs) to Karlie and this is the reason for this fight. Or it could be something much more domestic. They could literally be fighting about who forgot to take the chicken out the freezer. Who knows? Not us, since we do not know either one of these people lmao. 

16 July 2020 - Karlie posts a Addidas Joshlie mask photo on IG because she needs to promote her brand partnership. 

18 July 2020 - Joshlie papped bike riding in Santa Monica.

23 July 2020 - Taylor likes a fan account’s tweet that says “I know y’all are vulnerable right now, but don’t text your ex.”

24 July 2020 - folklore drops on the two year anniversary of the Joshlie engagement announcement. Hoax is track 16, matching lesson 16 from Taylor’s Elle article about not trusting first impressions of people. Spencer Pratt, who has said anti-Karlie things many times, receives a cardigan. In fact, everyone gets a cardigan except Karlie. Including Joe’s fun (possibly gay) friend, Eleanor, from his drama school days.

28 July 2020 - Karlie sells the West Village apartment. Taylor and Joe fly to Salt Lake City Utah.

2 August 2020 - Karlie is papped alone in Santa Monica.

3 August 2020 - Josh posts a throwback photo of Karlie to mark “eight birthdays together.” 

5 August 2020 - Taylor no homos Betty for country radio. Taylor and Joe are spotted exiting Taylor’s jet after returning from Utah.

6 August 2020 - E!News reports that Joe and Taylor vacationed in Utah together before quarantining in LA.

7 August 2020 - Josh posts a photo of Karlie sunbathing on the roof. (She must be back in NYC)

16 August 2020 - Karlie maybe hits on Brie Larson on IG.

18 August 2020 - The Lakes is released.

21 August 2020 - Taylor releases the escapism chapter. Karlie hits on Brie again, this time using the same “your kitchen or mine” phrasing she used for Taylor way back when. The comment is now deleted but WE GOT YOU ON CAMERA. (I doubt this means anything Joshlie-wise or evidence of Krie. Likely she was either being friendly and klout chasing or maaaybe trying to get under Taylor’s skin).

23 August 2020 - Taylor releases the sleepless nights chapter.

24 August 2020 - Joe posts an IG story from outside Taylor’s Rhode Island house.

26 August 2020 - Taylor releases the saltbox house chapter.

7 September 2020 - Joe posts two IG stories from his Utah trip with Taylor.

16 September 2020 - Taylor performs betty at the ACMs.

17 September 2020 - Taylor releases the yeah i showed up at your party chapter. Another photo of Joe is posted that seems to have been taken at Taylor’s Rhode Island house.

20 September 2020 - Joshlie celebrates Rosh Hashanah with the rest of the Kushner family at their New Jersey family compound.

18 October 2020 - Joshlie two year anniversary. Josh posts this picture of Karlie with a sweet caption. Karlie posts a video of the first dance at their first Upstate NYC wedding.

22 October 2020 - Karlie posts a picture captioned “pumpkin spice, spice baby,” which at first just seems like a lame white girl pumpkin spice latte joke, but, looking back, was her hinting about the pregnancy.

26 October 2020 - Karlie posts about the fall issue of W Magazine. She then posts her W Magazine screen test. Then she posts her Halloween-themed shoot for W Magazine. This is likely because she owns the magazine and wants it to do well. Keep this in mind for what happens next.

29 October 2020 - People is the first to break the story that Karlie is pregnant with Josh’s baby. A “source” (read: Joshlie’s publicist, because it’s People) tells them that Karlie is “overjoyed” to be expecting. W Magazine, which once again Karlie owns, also publishes the story – an effective confirmation from Karlie’s part that it’s true. Kaylors and Gaylors and Swifties alike all lose their shit. Hopefully, with all the hindsight this timeline has given for you, Karlie’s pregnancy not only makes more sense, but actually could have been predicted ahead of time, based on the traditional expectations of their families and social circles. Karlie simply uses the buzz to plug voting Democrat on her Instagram. And then plugs W Magazine again, just in case you forgot she owns it.

2020 Conclusion: And with that, we have reached the best stopping point the year is going to give us. Kaylor is deader than dead. Karlie is pregnant with Josh’s baby. Taylor is still with Joe but clearly going through some shit. Folklore is the King Lear of our time.
