i just saw a post on reddit titled "the writer is cooking but the food doesn't agree with me" and it was about OP clicking off a fic because they don't like the direction it's going in. slightly different context but can we all be more like this reddit OP. i think "the writer is cooking but the food doesn't agree with me" should be the new "don't like don't read." dead doves may give you diarrhea but don't make that everyone else's problem.

I usually have no problem posting about my fics, but I've been pretty quiet about this one because it's divisive. I fucking hate Rowling, more and more with every passing day. With regards to hating JKR, the two camps on Harry Potter fanfic seem to be "write about something the fuck else" and marauders era, which I also write. But I'm passionate about what I'm doing, so I'm going to share it anyway.
I'm working on a full rewrite of the Harry Potter books. It started as a removal of nastiness, fat shaming being my initial inspiration since the way Dudley is described has always weirded me out. But I found myself playing with the plot, then writing a fic of book two from the perspective of a gradually more traumatized Ginny Weasley.
Anyway, I have all the books mapped out in what I am hoping will be a full canon rewrite, one where the first three books follow the original canon with changes made to fill plotholes and fix some of that aforementioned nastiness, but with major changes to books 4 and on. Shipping is not the goal, but I don't see Ron and Hermione being endgame if that matters to you.
