Cody/Gwen/Trent is Sixteen Candles I've pointed this out somewhat before, but this is a more detailed thingy to prove my point~ Sixteen Candles' main characters include Jake (Trent), Sam (Gwen), and Ted (Cody). 1. Bus Scene: Sam is bothered by Ted as he invades her space and smells her (three times). He keeps asking her out and she is very harsh to him. The scene in Total Drama Island when Cody bothers Gwen in Episode 5 is inspired by this Sixteen Candles scene, no doubt. 2. Car Scene: After countless times trying to impress Sam, Ted finds her alone and apologizes to her. She tells him that she loves Jake and Ted tells her that he's his bro, and thinks Jake likes her back because he asked about her earlier. Sam gets really excited and thanks Ted, in which Ted takes the opportunity to ask Sam to help him with a bet he made with his friends that he would get her underwear. Sound like the canoe scene in Total Drama Island episode 8? Yeah. 3. Ted and Jake talk: After a party at Jake's house, Ted is alone with Jake and talks about Sam with him. Ted tells Jake that Sam likes him, and then Jake threatens that he'll kick his ass if he's lying. Total Drama Island episode 8, Cody and Trent talk and it's definitely inspired again by Sixteen Candles. 4. Sam and Jake learn that they like each other and they kiss, ending up together. Same happens in Total Drama Island episode 16. 5. Let's not forget the scene in Total Drama World Tour when Cody asks Tyler to take a picture with Gwen as she's asleep. The same thing happens in Sixteen Candles, where Ted gets his friends to take his picture with the most popular girl when she's completely drunk. Great movie by the way, I highly recommend it ^^ the first time I saw it I was like UMMMMM- because of all the Total Drama relations ;)
