I'm going to KU in september 2015. I have a room number G725-2, but my friend has a G724-2, are we living in a one room? Is it possible to change rooms?

I think you’re in opposite rooms (because otherwise it would be xxx-1 and xxx-2 if it was the same room) and I’m not sure whether it’s possible to change or not but it can’t hurt to email them to ask!

There is an option in the application to request a roommate, you just need their name and KU student number! :)

Hi I got an assignment for room G628-2 and my friend G628-1. Do we share a room??? And can I also do the Xray when I arrive in Korea?

Yep you guys are sharing a room. I think you can but I forgot the details about it, I think they either email you or the dorm staff tells you about it so don’t worry you can definitely do it here too.

thanks! also i know that you have to hand in the TB chest xray results. could it be just the report or does it have to be the entire xray. I unforgettably chucked it away T_T

Hi! I just got assigned to cj international . Would you know if these dorms have wifi ? Also I'm still deciding between goshiwon or on campus accomdation. What do you think is better ?

Yep they have wifi, although the strength of it depends on where you are I think. Hmmm that decision is solely up to you and your needs. I personally prefer campus dorms because it's bigger and cheaper as I room with my friend. But if you don't want to walk up a hill and be closer to everything like the shops/food/station and don't mind a small room/shower+toilet-in-one then maybe go for a goshiwon?

Fall 2013 Course Registration

So course registration was at 10am KST which means 2am in UK. I've just completed mine asap (although there was server lag and I had to wait around 1~3 mins to register each course), fortunately I've managed to get into all of the ones I wanted! A friend who did it at the same time didn't manage to get on Korean Beginners though, and is on the waiting list - damn that course went super fast (I didn't choose it though because it overlaps with my other courses, maybe next sem).

The courses I'm taking are:

ARDE218 4D Computer Graphics  - Weds 14:15 - 17:50

JMCO242 Strategic Communication Research  - Mon/Weds 10:30 - 11:45

JMCO328 Media & Social Change - Tue/Thur 12:00 - 13:50

JMCO344 Persuasive Communication - Tue/Thur 15:30 - 16:45 - The professor's name is Sehun, what a weird coincidence...

The countdown has finally hit single digit.

My friend and I are thinking of going to Primary & Zion.T's MANNA concert (woah it'll be my first ever concert event). It's currently held for three days; fri 30th aug, sat 31st aug and sun 1st sept.

We're not sure which date we're going for yet, but maybe friday as sat is too busy and sun is a uni night - well hopefully fri won't have anything major/important going on, but we'll wait closer to the time to see (whilst checking daily on the ticket availability ofc). Anyone else going?

International payments are really frustrating.

Update: 31st July 2013 - Okay just tried to do the payment again online and it's actually gone through this time, hopefully it'll show up on my housing account soon! This 12 day deadline for international students is really not convenient... (they released the dorm assignment results on 26th july and a deadline of 7th august for payment)

Also I asked in the KUBA fb group about the Anam Global House and apparently it's a newly built dorm so we'll be the first residents. Exciting and worrying at the same time.

Accommodation

Got into CJ International House* on-campus accom! Shall be rooming with my friend Joozilla! Exciting times. Now I need to sort out luggage allowance, packing, travel money and modules. It's scary to think I only have 18 days left;; Before, I went through a phase of panic then total excitement and now I'm back to mild-panic, these nerves really do not want to settle down. But you can't blame me right? Going to a foreign country for a year away from home, not knowing the language, how things work over there etc. I guess this will be as good an opportunity as ever for me to learn a lot though. Positive thoughts!

Edit: I received the KU Room Notice email today and I am in Anam Global House rather than CJ International House;; I can't really find much information about it though.

Results

Passed my second year with a 2:1! Now I can definitely go to Korea for sure (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧ KU here I come~

Received my visa today (●´∀｀●) Took a lot faster than I expected. Maybe I should've done it later because now my final entry date is very early; 21st July...Guess I'll have to pop out of the country at that time then.

Brief Update

I wonder whether I should keep this 9315 url or switch to louiseoul? ಠ__ಠ

Anyway, a brief update: Sent my visa form on 15th, hopefully I'll get it back next week if nothing's gone wrong (my friend sent hers at the same time as me but forgot to sign & date and got it sent back home;;). To be honest I think I may have forgot to date it too but I definitely signed it, and no post has come for me yet according to my parents so fingers crossed it's gone smoothly! Now I just need to wait for my results on the 1st of July to know I'm 110% going to study abroad and then I can go confirm my flight tickets T3T
