my blog turned 8 the other day. i obviously haven’t been active here as much as i used to be but man, this blog is such a massive piece of my soul. i spent some time this morning scrolling through my past posts and feeling all the emotions all over again, all the game 7s, all the excitement, all the heartbreak. i miss hockey all the time, but life is so busy these days that i just can’t spend as much time thinking about the leafs as i’d like. i’m just glad to have a journal like this to remember all the good (and bad) times spent watching and loving the leafs in my life.

“I love that jersey. Love that jersey with the W,” Strome explained. “‘W’ has a special meaning for my family.”
Strome and his wife, Tayler, have a daughter, Weslie, who is one and a half years old. They also had a golden retriever named Wrigley, who passed away in April after complications following surgery.
So, wearing that jersey, the 25-year-old feels that he is representing his new club and his family. And for Strome, it was only fitting that he scored his first goal with the club while wearing the “W” jersey on Monday. He said Wrigley was watching over him as he and the Capitals rallied for a 6-4 comeback victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
“He was looking down on me last night and got me that goal,” Strome said.
