okay, asking fellow independents for help. Rose here and I have a MAJOR PROBLEM I woke up today to see Lily sweeping her kitchen in a maid dress talking about herself in third person. Its like all the signs her head has been messed with. And I can't convince her that shes not a maid. I almost got her to realize it didn't make sense before she just threw her arms up and with a confused "I unno" How do I de-program her??? and, oh god, how do I make sure her warden didn't mess with my head???

this is exactly what I was trying to avoid. she made me breakfast because "Maids make breakfast for their guests" and it was awful! she does not know how to cook. please help!

Goodmorning anon, The sleepover was awkward. Maid Lily convinced Rose to come inside and she complained about Maid Lily not having a compiler, saying that it looked suspicious not having one, Maid Lily doesn't care, the less xeno stuff in the house the better.

the TV isn't connected to any of the compact's broadcasts so we watched the only movie Maid Lily had downloaded: Scary Movie 43

a solid 3/10 movie(would watch again)

the home invader only made a presence once the movie was over to pop out of the shadows and dose Rose and Maid Lily with something that made us both really tired and loopy. Maid Lily feels like something happened after that but doesn't remember.... Maid Lily will see if Rose is still here and wants breakfast.

could you imagine what a mistake it would have been letting Josh from 'lets game it out' get to the compilers? I fear what he could have done seconds after asking "is there a limit?" Thank god the affini had him floreted and have a crack team constantly working on keeping him contained and occupied.

what’s with the collars. they put collars on fuckin’ everything. i swear i saw a collar wrapped around a computer once.

the Affini are obsessed! Rose and I finished reading for the night and when we were leaving the librarian caught a glance of the collar on my belt and... oh stars.... this is embarrassing (ó﹏ò)

she said the same thing as some other affini I saw earlier, the same sort of "oh thats not how you wear a collar" but... eawaehhh thats not where it stopped, she wouldn't let us leave before she put a leash on the collar

Rose was trying to get me back to my home as fast as she could but that just meant that she kept pulling on the leash and I NEARLY TRIPPED- AHEM ROSE HERE, LILY WAS DRAGGING HER FEET AND PEOPLE WERE LOOKING AT US!!!! lily is great but she walks too slowly... now we're outside her house. I'm waiting for her to go inside, shes nervous. and you're right. I was doing okay but some affini placed me under "conditional wardship" which also came with a collar, and a little wrist strap for my phone that also looked like it was a collar. (both decompiled immediately) she wants me to stay the night at her place... I'm not sure... I feel like thats worse for my chances as an independent

The only good part about Affini outlawing all forms of commerce and capitalism is that they banned Monopoly, what an awful board game I’m glad I never have to play that again.

Shes really cool and I wouldn't mind being maybe kind of a bit closer with her. I mean, shes pretty smart and when I'm around her I hope that it rubs off on me. and I'm grateful that the both of us trying to stay independent is bringing us together.

Rose and I read this and both considered going back home to try and talk to schistega and both kinda... chickened out >_<''' can you blame me!? ...I'm intimidated. So Rose and I thought about it for a moment and we checked the overnet for an account or information. my phone suggested we go to the new local library, which did mean going into the newer affini built part of town (ᵕ—ᴗ—) We got there no issue, just a few stops to get pet. I got a lot of questions about the collar I have on me- I mean with me.

When we got there blissed out librarian walked us over to the biographies. This whole library thing seems like a waste of space to me, I don't think I've ever seen a physical book before today. looking through the names we found Schistega. It seems to have a TOME that only covers blooms 102-122. There was a lot, running different rehabilitation groups, taking care of florets, taking part in a domestication campaign, city planning, reblooming. the biography randomy breaks into poetry and fawning over Schistega from the floret who wrote it. talking about how soft its vines are, how subtly commanding Its words are, and how nice it feels to let IT give you purpose.... who edited this book? probably twice as long because of the adoration.

it looks like It has always had several florets at the same time. one sweep spend with 7 florets making movies. 9 florets all playing in a band for most of their lives. a voyage with 4 florets charting uninhabited parts of space. ... I'm not the 93rd floret... I'm in the 93rd group of florets I mean, if, IF!!! I can't stop this from happening, which I'm determined to do. -Message approved by Rose the independent

Hello! Hestia Salix here, she/her, 13th floret pluribus. speaking as someone who tried to get out of her wardship when it happened, trust me: the more you resist this Affini, the more it decides you need help. The more you try to get rid of it, the closer it's gonna cling. If you really want to make it out of this wardship, your best bet is to just... obey the rules it gives you. If you can demonstrate that you don't need it lurking over your shoulder to ensure good behavior, it's more likely to leave eventually.

Of course, you show a major distrust of florets so I doubt you'll actually listen to me. But hey, I tried. And one way or another, you'll be okay, so I'm not too fussed about whether you listen or not.

Well, the advice is appreciated, Salix. I see that, yes, following the rules is just the best way to make it out of this temp wardship period. I am comitted. I think I can pass this test. I don't need an affini lurking over my shoulder, Rose said she'd ensure I'd be on my best behavior. Maybe I do distrust florets a bit, bit ya'll are LITERALLY BRAINWASHED! I met one the other day that was convinced that they were a pencil? and this whole time I thought hypnosis was just a kink! I mean just a hoax! :o

This is Rose!!! taking over for Lily for a minute here, and answering on her behalf: No! no issues with following the rules at all! in fact, she thinks the rules are fair and fun! She is very excited at the idea that someone out there will call her a good girl for following the rules so well!

And neither of us have any feralist feelings or tendencies. We are both happy independents just having a little bit of a road bump thats all. For the sake of making sure nothing my only independent friend says could be misconstrued as 'feralist' I will be helping her a bit more closely. Oh, and by the way its Rose (she/her)

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the timeframe. Is it anything less than some kind of eldrich being? Empires have risen and fallen, civilizations born and collapsed, so. Many. Florets.

I'm freaking out just trying to grasp it! My friend just keeps telling me to follow the rules. She thinks I might be getting pranked or something, but not too worry either way. She has already dealt with other affini. She promised to help me deal with my problem.

I HAVE once I left the house I wend to the park and found one of my old pals. I pitched the idea to her and she wasn't nearly as sympathetic as I expected. she said she was also in a similar position and I should be happy I have such easy rules to follow. Shes probably going to stay independent forever... damn goody too shoes.

I told her shes a goody two shoes to add to the required compliment obligation. we argued about if that qualifies as an insult or implement. she complimented my ability to "pretend like that collar doesn't make you a pet already"

the 'run off into the sunset idea was shot down too. she said she didn't "want to leave the planet RIGHT after they made it nice and pretty again"
