everytime someone says this i just wonder how they don't realize how short sighted and impractical a ship name like that would be for search or discussing purposes. you search 'mistynat' on twitter, tumblr, instagram, pinterest, tiktok etc, and you get what you're looking for: misty and natalie from yellowjackets. you search 'nasty' on any of those sites and what do you think you're gonna get? a bunch of random shit you have to wade through in order to find a couple posts of what you're looking for.

I have now entered the yellowjackets fandom and am incredibly disappointed in you all that misty and natalie's ship name is just mistynat and not nasty. how do you not see the potential right in front of you

Teen timeline Mistynat idea where Shauna is attacking Nat for calling for help and tricking her(maybe they are in the caves or near the cliffs) Misty to distract her tells her the truth about the transponder. That its her fault Jackie and her baby are dead. Nat keeps trying to get Misty to shut up because she knows Shauna will kill her but Misty is willing to risk it for her. Shauna in her rage is so distracted she attacks Misty is about to kill her(maybe has her hands around her neck) that she doesn't notice Nat come up from behind and hit her hard in the head(maybe with her rifle) Shauna gets a bad headwound but lives(the injury added with the trauma is what causes Shauna to forget/repress Misty telling the truth). When Shauna is passed out at their feet Nat asks why Misty did that for her. Misty says something like "your my friend/antler queen and it was worth the risk". And this whole scene mirroring telling Adult Shauna the truth to distract her again in the Adult timeline.

And if anyone ask her why, we have a flashbacks of Misty being builed and ignored all her life, and we see why she needs to be needed and she goes on big crying rant over how no one is allowed to judge her about it and how Nat was the only person who never did. And its a big emphatic speech and everything

that’s another reason i’d be down for someone else to find out, to give misty a chance to vocalize how much it meant to her for nat to do that, how it changed their relationship and earned nat her loyalty forever etc. obvs there’s a chance she have that discussion with nat in the teen timeline at some point but as someone that loves when characters get those kinds of quotes that really sum up a relationship, i’m all for misty getting all the chances to wax poetic about nat and their relationship

Misty getting even more low about nat being gone and decides to tell the others about the transponder in the hopes that they'll kill her. As a form of suicide and it mirroring Nats almost from season 1.

someone reblogged that post and was like “i think they’d kill her for it” and my first thought was good! not only would that ensure she’s not the dreaded final girl and she’d be reunited with nat/the team in the afterlife but it would further highlight how special her bond with nat was if yet another person reacted that badly. first crystal refusing to keep it a secret then tai or shauna killing her for it while nat kept it a secret for 20+ years (after one punch to the face)? delicious. but yes, misty knowing what she was doing while telling it vs being naive like with crystal would be even better.

like imagine misty tells tai and then tells her that only nat knew and tai asks when she told her, assuming it was during their buddy cop antics in s1 and being shocked when misty tells her nat knew since the wilderness and suddenly everything about mistynat Makes Sense to tai
