Slightly different than my scourge aus. It’s a movie metal sonic story. This is the sequel to a one shot in which Eggman gave Metal an upgraded AI to trick Maddie into thinking Metal was her Sonic to infiltrate the Wachowski House.

The repercussions of that one shot are explored further in the sequel and I finally found the omph to write again after literally 2-3 years. Please give it a look!

Let me tell you, Fiona in Uncle AU stays a villain not cause “women evil” or whatever. No she is evil cause I know she would be unstoppable in the same way any female villain sidekick would be if she stopped listening to that fucking man.

Additionally, Surge did wonders to my brain chemistry and I need her and Fiona to be in lesbians. Everyone else can fuck around and find out.

Breathe…

Wachowski, eyes closed, lost in the tickle of wind through his fur and spines. Sweeping gently past him. Uncaring and unaware of his presence as it flew through and over the trees.

Breathe

Once there was a time he needed the wind’s validation. He chased it, out paced it, over valley and ridge and field. Pupil to equal he became but still it never looked his way. Never spoke his name.

“Breathe Slugger.”

Wachowski took in a breath short and quick through his nose. He mindlessly fell into a rhythm, focusing on the leather jacket clad hedgehog next to him.

“Ya pass out and I’m fucking out,” Scourge bent at the waist until he was just above eye level, “I’m not gonna be seen with a Sonic who passes out cause he held his breathe like a toddler.”

Wachowski snorted, “impatient much?”

“Eehh, those humans must be rubbing off on you, I’m not getting called impatient by a Sonic.” Scourge sneered.

“At least they aren’t growing on me.” Wachowski fired back, “that beer belly a Green Hills Bar original? Or is age getting the best of you?”

“Hey!” Scourge shouted and followed with a barking laugh, “you better hope it’s the bar, cause it’s only a matter of time before you become me kid.”

Somewhere in Wachowski’s past those words flared an old anxiety but it was quickly drowned in a laugh of his own. The absurdity of the thought tickled his spines and left with no more permanence than the wind had.

“Nah, I think I’ll do my own thing. You can keep all that for yourself,” Wachowski said, “You got time for a run?”

“I’ve been patiently waiting for you to ask.”

Wachowski snapped head to Scourge to frown at the lie but he was gone, chasing down the wind.

Wachowski rolled his eyes. Didn’t matter that Scourge or the wind had a head start. He was confident he’d still win.

It's vital that I find out how Scourge reacted when Wachowski first called him uncle

I had art drawn of this moment… I do!

God this art is old lmao. uncle hasn’t gotten his gym membership yet.

I think in the Green With fic it happens slightly differently but I cannot remember. If I were to write it again today, it would probably be similar to this moment above (maybe not uncle falling to his knees for dramatic effect) but I think it would be moved all the same. It doesn’t happen right away but Wachowski probably gives his trust way too early so Uncle might be given and appreciated but maybe not earned. Scourge eventually earns the title.

How does Scourge deal with his nephew's bad mood? When a kid cries or feels sick, when he has nightmares.

Thank you! Truly my favorite trope is “gruff man cares about child.” Heads up this answer has gotten long, so sorry.

Initially Scourge wouldn’t deal with Wachowski’s moods at all. Mans can hardly handle his own feelings let alone another’s. Still, he kinda projects on the kid early on and it opens the door for him to learn more and grow. Eventually he just sticks by Wachowski. Maybe he doesn’t have the words but he’ll be a presence.

Later in their relationship Scourge serves as a person who gives actual guidance and advice. Scourge will always be on Wachowski’s side, no matter how morally dubious the decision is. The only thing he won’t do is kill for the kid if he asked, he’ll hold a target steady but it’s Wachowski’s final move. Scourge doesn’t want to give Wachowski an out to pin his guilty conscience on him. Scourge will always leave space for selfish choice in Wachowski’s life. A well needed option for a hero. A little (non-au canon) thought experiment I had on this idea was that following the death of his parents due to a drunk driver, Wachowski is in a dark place and wants retribution. He is discouraged for all the reasons of how morally bad that is and that it’s not gonna bring his parents back. Wachowski is deeply frustrated cause those answers don’t address his feelings and his shame about having them. He seeks out scourge knowing he won’t stop him but Scourge really isn’t discouraging or encouraging. He is like “yeah, if that’s the choice make it then. I’m not doing it for you but I’ll help cover yer tracks or whatever but there’s no going back Slugger, you gotta live with it”. Wachowski can’t really go through with it, he just needed to sit in the feelings without feeling like he was being judged. Genuinely, Uncle would have buried a body, he was good friends with Maddie, and had a begrudging respect for Tom.
