Can we talk about this for a moment?
Tumblr media
No matter what political affiliation you are a part of, we should all agree that this is absolutely abhorrent.
Tumblr media
Because you are feeling aggrieved you decide to propose a “24-hour purge”? To hunt down innocent people? Where is your common sense and decency? I do sympathize that you were upset with your car being vandalized but this response is completely uncalled for.
And even if, for argument sake, that it was a member of the local Indigenous community who did vandalize her car, then why should others in that community be subject to your scorn? People who are just trying to live their lives have to be dragged into your quarrel?
The idea that you should advocate attacking a group you suspected (without proof) of harming you is ridiculous, unjust and ignores the Rule of Law. Let individual persons be held responsible for their actions.
This principle also goes for those people who believe all white people are racists, all black people are thugs and all men are sexual predators and evil. Don’t blame the actions of one person on innocent people who are not related to the situation.
It’s that simple.
Really.

I know I've been away for a while, and missed out on some pretty key events (Re: Ontario Election, Trumps Tariffs) BUT I'd just like to highlight Michelle Rempel's awesomeness:
How this epic begins is by the Status of Women Minister Maryam Monsef tweeting out this:
Tumblr media
Firstly, there is no “just feminism”, this movement/ideology whatever has different branches (radical) and interpretations (Classical Liberal Feminism like Christina Hoff Sommers).
Michelle Rempel seeing this shot back with:
Tumblr media
But didn’t stop there:
Tumblr media
Good on Rempel for calling out the hypocrisy, especially with the whole Trudeau groping allegations. Seeing this, Monsef carefully considered what was said and edited her--I’m just kidding, she zones in on one particular point and responds:
Tumblr media
Instead of addressing the hypocracy comment she decides to talk about that quip...Yes, because that really highlights her point and position and is constructive. Rempel saw this...And then the fireworks started:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good on you Michelle Rempel! Tell it like it is.
Also here’s a bonus:
Tumblr media
As a Canadian Taxpayer I suggest we get more strong female politicians like Rempel who will stand up for good sense and against empty, divisive ideology. Also, as a taxpayer, shouldn’t you be more concerned with the fact that Monsef lied about her background? Why are you OK with providing a paycheque to a liar? The rhetoric of a member of the opposition party shouldn’t labelled a disgrace when you look closely at the policies your favourite team has been pushing and the people who are putting forth these policies.

If I may, I would like to take a moment to laugh at the recent protests at Queen's U. Oh my, I thought the protesters at Mac made our school look bad but Queen's U just went "hold my beer". LMAOOOOOO I don't even know where to begin to be able to comprehend what happened there. The protesters even broke their own school's window! Great way to fight "evil"! Great way to make your point.
When will this madness come to an end? At first it was amusing but now it's becoming sickening especially hearing protesters yelling "Lock em in and burn it down." And then laugh about it. Did they not realize they were advocating for murder? Burn down a building filled with innocent civilians. And what was their crime? Simply wanting to hear what a professor had to say. It was eerie and it was sickening. Is this how we'll build the future? Will this bring about a better life and future for Canadians?
The answer is a glaringly obvious no.
If we can't settle down and diplomatically talk about our issues (talk meaning, listen to whatever one has to say and then responding) then what sort of world will we live in? And what does that say about what, we as human, have become?

The Liberal government has released their 2018 Budget....
or at least it's a budget just in name...seriously, the items it focused on were so absurd and borderline nonsensical! More women in the workforce? Cool. Self-determination for indigenous people? Go for it...explain to me what this has to do with the budget and helping businesses pay for rising costs? How will this help the middle class or help people raise their standard of living? Ontario alone lost 50,000+ jobs last month.
In the previous years budget post secondary students lost a textbook rebate! For textbooks I used to get $200+ back. That was for all students. The middle class is not being helped or even given a break.
We should all pay very close attention and look past the pretty words, us being the younger generation will pay dearly for it.

The precedent and meaning is quite frightening...
"We need to do better, and we'll do it together"
What.
Sure our courts may need a bit of a revamp however, if you don't agree with the court's verdict you appeal it, not undermine the tradition of the courts and insult the jury.
Tumblr media
Not how I would word it but YEA! What he said!
Honestly though, this government since it got elected has been pushing through so many Charter challenges it’s scary. As PM it’s not your job to weigh in on court decisions….AND for the love of all things Law replace that inadequate Minister of Justice
This government is trying to undermine important tenants of our legal system

Maybe, just maybe we should respect that said woman who is reading a book of her choosing, did so by exercising her own autonomy and rational thinking. I actually feel insulted, for two reasons:
1) the lack of recognition and appreciation of the book reader's autonomy and preference
2) the insinuation is that your (Danielle Lazarin) choice of books is more superior and that we should all fall in line with what you like to read all because we simply share one quality and that is we're women?
Why is it anyone's business what anyone chooses to read? This is so wrong and annoying.
I'm not saying don't promote books written by women--though I don't see why gender or anything has anything to do with an author, we should always promote books!--I just think if Lazarin's mission was to promote books written by women she could have gone about it in a different way. While she probably thinks she's making some sort of statement that empowers female authors, in reality she just sounds ignorant.
Tumblr media
Why is it that we have come to the point where even enjoying a book is now controversial. I love to read, I don’t care who the author was. Is this statement not both sexist and racist?

Why is there this distaste for the phrase "clean your room"? I think the idea that Dr. Peterson put out was a profound one that should be practiced--granted it is not a new notion. The idea of taking care of yourself or straightening out your own life before you try to change the world is one found in Confucius and other East and South Asian texts/traditions.
What he's saying isn't wrong or even bad--I think it's fun to see people using it as a catch phrase and hopefully people actually do take the lesson from that rule. Put yourself in order so that you can clearly observe the world around you without anything blocking your sight.
