Can we talk about this trio more? It’s giving very much unlikely but wholesome, slightly dysfunctional but still loving household. Worthy of a name. Henderfam? The Henderdads and their feral lovechild? Whatever they’re called, it’s golden, a rare platonic love triangle. A polar opposite pair who dislike each other on principle, whose only common link is Dustin, who they both just happened to form an inexplicable bond with and then the kid totally adopted them as his dads? Only Dustin could manage to Parent Trap an ex-jock and a nerdy metalhead, not to mention the way he scooped Robin so quick as his honorary Cool Aunt™️, this boy is collecting found family like infinity stones and we need to talk about it more.

Renascent

fic written by the talented tottwriter/tottwritesfanfic, extremely detailed and emotionally nuanced - a rewrite of 02 where instead of chimeramon, takeru is ken’s trump card, and ken has to deal with basically fucking up takeru’s life on top of his canon guilt, but the story doesn’t end there! the rest of the plot of 02 carries on and ken lives through more and more hell before anything even begins to resolve itself - the fic is quite long and is being posted over several days, stayed toned!

renascent is actually a follow-up of tott’s earlier fic, Metanoia, which is the same story told from a different perspective with a completely different vibe, and i stroooongly urge you to read that one also, especially if you’re a fan of takeru. it is also long but as someone who inhales fic, i assure you its superb, and stays true to the characters.

lastly, thank you staff for organizing this event! working on both art was super fun and fulfilling. i always wanted to do a big bang challenge and im so glad digimon was the first one. i just *clenches fist* love digimon so much

I'm sorry, but I feel the needed to say my unasked opinion just like everyone in internet does. I actually liked your post and I didn't have anything against it, just wanted to make a point about something I believe. If you don't think the same way, that's fine, I didn't want to change your mine.

I truly didn't mean to take your post down or anything like that. And you should appreciate others opinion too, not because they're different from yours they're bad or gives you the power of judging them.

Reblog to scare those cowardly digimon fans that complained about the 02 kids “replacing the season 1 adventure kids” And the equally cowardly digimon fans that complained bout Meiko “replacing the 02 kids”.

Daisuke, Takeru, and Hikari

With Daisuke having such an abrasive personality, I think people tend to see Daisuke and Takeru as having a lot more antagonistic of a relationship with the others than he actually does in practice, but I feel that this is especially the case with him and Takeru – and the fact that summary profiles of his character (even the early official 02 ones) tend to play up some image of a “rivalry” between him and Takeru over the Hikari issue. It also lends to interpretations of Hikari’s way of dodging Daisuke’s affections as a sign she dislikes him or is put off by him.

But that’s not really the case when you look closer at it! The way Daisuke and Hikari treat each other has a rather delicate balance to it, but there’s no indication Hikari particularly dislikes him; it’s just more that she’s taking the opportunity to dodge an awkward situation. And in regards to Daisuke and Takeru, like with the relationship between Daisuke and Miyako, I think it’s too easy to conflate their potential for friction into believing they seriously dislike each other. They don’t – and especially not after the events of the series, when Daisuke bonds further with the other members of the 02 group and learns to stop being so insecure about everything, there’s a lot of evidence that Daisuke and Takeru actually do get along quite well when it comes down to it.
