So, let me get this straight. A teenage girl is raised in total isolation from the outside world (which she cannot be exposed to because it's 'dangerous' and she's 'too young' to protect herself). She then escapes her prison by *cutting off all her hair* and proving that she's old enough to know and assert who she really is, both literally and figuratively destroying the power hanging over her and finally being free...
