You are making perfect sense. I don’t think he is allowed vacation time considering the IPC technically owns him. Sure he has more money but he is still entirely under their control. I think if he isn’t the best they would actually kill him Which I would not put passed the IPC considering everything they have done in the in game universe.
aventurine’s this very interesting combination of incredibly cunning, calculated, & brutal tbh while also having intense self esteem issues. he views every relationship as transactional and has no issue with using people to stay on top. he’s never left survival mode; considering his childhood, maybe he’s always been in it.
‘gilded’ describes him so well. not only is he still in a birdcage with his fancy clothes and riches covering up that he’s still in a place where he can’t escape, he also uses his persona to hide his perceived worthlessness underneath
#him being in the ipc is so important to his character as well thank you for reminding me#bc he views the ipc as his owner essentially whether or not he actually consciously recognizes that#yknow i love the idea of aven leaving the ipc but also like. the ipc must feel ‘comfy’ to him bc it’s the same situation he’s used to#honkai star rail#hsr#hsr aventurine#<- mostly prev tags
