Gratitude
Aventurine x Bodyguard Reader
He found you digging through the trash. Months of tracking you down led to nothing, and he was on the verge of giving you up when his luck rang through once again. Deciding to not waste the moment, he approached you and smiled when he saw how quickly your muscles reflexed into a ready stance despite your shabby appearance and weakened state. Always out for yourself. As expected of a mercenary.
He offered you the position right there. Be his bodyguard, and in exchange, well all the money you could possibly imagine.
“And I’m sure your pursuers will back off once they know you’re under the IPC”.
It was to be a formal relationship. An exchange of services. He made the contract, and you signed it.
“At least read it once before you sign it. You don’t know what I will be asking from you,” Aventurine cautioned.
“I don’t need to read to know what I’m getting myself into,” you replied calmly.
Indeed you never questioned your role, and very quickly established yourself as Aventurine’s silent shadow. Rumours spread that his murky character was only your shadow. That his eyes bewitched while yours homed in on the attack. Everyone soon watched their tongue around the IPC manager, least they find it cut by your sword. Sometimes Aventurine wondered if he really knew what he was getting himself into. Other times, he intentionally pushed you to see what it would take to make you snap from your calm demeanour. Impossible missions ranging from late night escapades, rescue missions, even getting up at 2 am to get him a snack. You bore it all with no malice. Truly, you were dangerous.
You had no friends and made no attempt to create new friends. They were possible attempts on his life was the rational you provided. Even if you wanted friends, Aventurine mused, no one would dare approach someone they knew might harm them, not in this stratum of society where foes and friends of the IPC were treated alike. Stuck with him, he supposed he could offer you a modicum of friendship. If only to stave off the loneliness of two people. He found himself exchanging slights of hand tricks, and asking questions to which your answers had him honestly laughing. It was fun, Aventurine realized, to have this banter between you within the familiarity of your roles. You were taciturn, but woe betide the fool who assumed nothing more lay behind your professional face.
It started with a mission plan. Late a night, echoes of the casino music and laughter reached to his hidden chambers where the IPC manager stayed up planning a stealth attack. Struggling over how to extract himself from the danger, he almost forgot you were there until he saw your arm reach over and readjust the plan. A sudden change of view and Aventurine’s problems fell away. He looked up at you only to see a gleam in your eyes as you stared at the mission plan. You were in your element.
“Foolish of me to not see things that way,” he murmured.
“Late night thoughts are dangerous, sir”.
There were several more moments like these. Nights when he awoke to sounds and only found you cleaning up. You would turn towards him and ask him in a gentle voice to go back to bed. The blood was always gone by morning. Another when he arrived to see his dinner had been eaten by you. Perspiration appeared on your forehead, and you began to wheeze. Still you quietly begged forgiveness, claiming that your hunger was uncontrollable. It was your duty, yet Aventurine didn’t understand why your actions carried such a depth of emotions within them. Worse yet, Aventurine didn’t understand why he grew concerned over you. It was your responsibility. So why did he wait till he heard you stop cleaning before slipping back to bed? Why did he panic over your poisoned state, ushering you to induce vomiting without a care for his clothes.
The turning point occurred during a casino night. Caught up in the moment, Aventurine failed to notice a pair of cold eyes, staring hard not at him but at his hand, the one that always stayed near his person when he played. All of a sudden, he could feel your presence near him, gently leaning into him, hiding his hand away from the world. He stared at you, but you stared ahead, challenging the eyes that dared to cast a glance at that which you protected so fiercely. He didn’t know when you noticed his habit, but for some reason, didn’t find it all that alarming that the one person to find out his secret was you. He knew you would keep it safe.
You became his confidant soon after. A hundred secrets, but a thousand smiles. For the first time laughter tailed Aventurine’s shadow, and people stopped differentiating between you both. Rumours began to spread, rumours Aventurine neither confirmed nor denied. He knew the emotion that linked the two of you. Gratitude. He hated it. Relations formed on such a flimsy emotion are quickly manipulated and broken. Like misery, the emotion wafted through life. It’s why he never questioned the second mug you left for him, or the extra plate of food. It’s what he told himself when you took his exhausted body to bed, gently stroked his head, and didn’t flinch when he screamed out at night and clenched your hand, nails digging deep enough to leave crescent-shaped tears.
Too scared to ask for more, Aventurine sustained his life on temporality. He once gave you a gift. Nothing but a miniature coin attached to a pin, but you had yet to remove it from your appearance. He told himself, he just wanted to thank you. It was also why he insisted on helping you clean your wounds, slowly tracing over your marred skin, gently asking if you were still alright. If you were still alive. Still with him. Enjoy the moment. Don’t ask for more.
So why was it that this particular moment had him far more upset than the situation warranted? In the white noise of the casino where glamour trumps sensibility, a gentleman had the gall to approach Aventurine. Accustomed to the routine, Aventurine watched the man wager a high stake. Like bees to honey, eyes swarmed the two men as they ascended the ladder of fate. As usual, no one saw Aventurine’s hand shake or the exhale when the odds came into his favour once more. As expected, the distraught man slipped out insults at his opponents. Sighing, Aventurine slipped into his role of providing superficial comfort. What he did not expect was the silver glint. A sudden clash of metal, and the click of a gun.
You were in front of him, blocking Aventurine from having to see the poor excuse of a human being. The gentleman’s dagger was pathetic in comparison to your sword and the gun you jammed into his head.
“The game is over, sir. Take your losses and go home”.
“You work for a cheat! A Scoundrel!”
Aventurine pressed his glasses closer to his eyes and smiled. Really, the man had guts to continue to insult when death stood right in front of him.
You easily flicked away the dagger.
“Hold your tongue. Leave now”.
The gentleman’s eyes narrowed as he registered you and your role. His lips curled and he sneered, “And here comes the guard dog, protecting its master”.
Aventurine gripped his hand and felt the engraving on the coin within, press into his skin. His lips thinned but he remained silent.
“A master worth protecting”.
Now both men looked at you, clearly shocked by your statement. Then the gentleman scoffed and snatched his hat.
“You’ve got them trained well, Gambler. But you better yoke them before they land you in trouble”.
You watched the man until he left the room. Behind, you could hear Aventurine lazily count his winnings. Clatter. Clatter. Clatter. The sound of each coin bounced off the room. Aventurine was upset. You sighed.
“I don’t like you accepting such talk!” the man sputtered out. It always amused you when he did this, concern choking his suave side.
“The man was angry. Let him bark,” you grinned at him. “I’m the one who bites”.
Aventurine turned his head away from you, failing to hide his smile. The he reached his hand out to you. Taking the cue, you sat near him. He shook off his glasses and placed his head on your shoulder. When you made no move to remove his head, he let it sink down as you buried your hands into his hair.
“Am I really worth protecting?” A quiet whisper came out.
“Yes”.
“I’m not your master,” this time the voice was firmer.
You hesitated. “The contract,”
“Damn the contract! You’re—We’re—. You can leave anytime you want!”
Silence hung in the air as you both pressed closer.
“I didn’t mean that,” Aventurine murmured, hand reaching for yours.
You placed you head on top of his. “Late night thoughts are dangerous, dear”.
Aventurine closed his eyes, feeling the edges of sleep flow in. There would be no going back now, but Aventurine found himself ready to slip off into the unknown, because now you were there, guarding his back. Was it gratitude? Maybe. But maybe, just perhaps. It was the start of something stronger. Something better that would etch itself upon his soul, overriding all the other scars.

The Care Package II
Got your first, shiny new gacha character you were working oh-so-hard to get? That's great! Don't know how to care for it? No worries! This guide will have you covered!
-
Summary: not doing this, its in part 1 here, this post has Aventurine and Sunday. The previous one has Dr. Ratio and Argenti. Have fun reading !
-
The Gem-Deluxe Package
You receive a lavishly decorated box at your mail! It is covered in jewels and black ribbon, and similarly to the Red Rose Package, users may experience difficulty in unboxing Aventurine from his gift box. Please watch this tutorial in case you are unable to do so aswell.
The gift box is lined with a soft material, and several, smaller layers that act as a makeshift bed for your sleeping Aventurine. Please let your Aventurine wake up on his own accord, or you may halt his growth process from Beginner to Intermediate by communicating urgency if you wake him up too soon. When Aventurine wakes up, he will make his presence known very well, and he will naturally call out to you regardless of wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
Aventurine comes with a unique combination of accessories that are specific to each model – thus a specific user manual is provided for each of his items. You may receive either one of the following SSR items; Gold Coin [I], Pack of gold Cards [I], Small Aventurine Stone [II], Teal Peacock Earring [I]. Please note you may only be able to request another copy with your specific user manual when you open the package - if you are unable to find it, search Aventurine's pillow or ask him about it. Some users express their delight at Aventurine's tricks of hiding certain things, but it is advisable to warn him of certain valuable items before he hides them to entertain his user.
Aventurine may seem as though he does not mind being picked up in any way, however, he wishes to be held with great care. Please hold out both of your hands so he may feel cared for, and wait for him to feel comfortable enough to climb onto your hands. Aventurine may tell you it doesn't matter, but it is advisable to take great care and consideration of his emotional and mental wellbeing regarding your actions towards him.
Beginner Aventurine enjoys enclosures that are bright with natural light and open, but also safe and guarded well. You may keep him near your windows, on your bed, or any designated spot where he is free to explore that is well-illuminated. However, if he is picked up in the middle of his exploration process, he may whine and sarcastically compliment your furniture.
Beginner Aventurine is more personally closed off, so users are advised to be patient. He is, however, comforted by the sight of beautiful jewels, a comfortable bed, and warm food [Please refer to Care Package for accessories, especially regarding jewels. You do not need to buy real diamonds to impress Aventurine.].
The longest stage is the Beginner stage, so users may not be pleased with the delay in level up when it comes to Aventurine. He is not comfortably accustomed to change. It is advised he grows according to the rate he deems fit. However, the new Companion Feature allows Aventurine to interact with Dr. Veritas Ratio, and Aventurine's level up may be encouraged further if he witnesses Veritas Ratio level up, or receive his advice and help. Users are advised to supervise their interactions closely, as Intermediate Aventurine and Advanced Veritas Ratio are prone to petty arguments.
Intermediate Aventurine shows not much difference with the later stages of Beginner Aventurine, however, he may start interacting more openly with his user. He will frequent your personal space, initiate more friendly conversations and become inquisitive about your personal life – please tell him all about your Friends and Family. Aventurine feels closer to people the more he knows about their personal relationships. Users are also encouraged to compliment Aventurine whenever he decides to explore an area he tends to avoid – this will level up Aventurine's premature skill “Lost and Found [I]” to “Observe and Retrieve [II]”. Aventurine may find objects of precious value to user that may have been lost before, and will help the user find misplaced items with greater ease. It also supports the continual growth until he reaches Advanced level.
At the Advanced Level, Aventurine finds it very easy to accustom to User's routine. His skill may also level up from “Observe and Retrieve [II]” to “Initiate and Succeed [III]”. Advanced Aventurine will be more open to user and relay his personal feelings without hesitance. He may also choose to be called Kakavasha at this stage [Our users are informed that Kakavasha was the name of the previous model Aventurine is currently based upon, and to not fear any errors]. Aventurine at this stage may grow exponentially overnight depending on how deep the bond between him and his user is. If you reach a close bond level, Aventurine grows up to a size of 5’6-5’7 overnight, and delight in his own growth. Users are advised to prepare in advance once Aventurine reaches Intermediate stage.
Congratulations! You now have a full grown Aventurine, who may choose to go by Kakavasha in private. Aventurine is extremely skilful in managing the user's finances and personal relationships, offering advice and deciphering actions of others around his user. However, Aventurine is prone to safeguarding seemingly invaluable things, such as handwritten notes, old jewelry the user may have wanted to discard, and frequently visits the user's personal space. Aventurine, however open he may be, still hides some of his personal feelings. Users are advised to be comforting and patient with Aventurine, and oblige with his unsure nature regarding trust and belongings. Aventurine is prone to Neglect [IV], and users are heavily warned to never ignore Aventurine, especially in times of need or when quarrels occur. You may comfort him during your busy schedule by offering him handwritten notes of small reassurance, or provide him with the Gold Card Pack provided within the Care Package.
-
The Raven Package
The box is very fragile, and contains many pieces of accessories, so please do not shake it. It is light blue in colour, and is adorned with a small golden brooch the user may keep as a decorative piece. Inside, you receive a transparent box encasing a sleeping Sunday, and a plethora of neatly arranged accessories beside him. Please handle it with great care.
Sunday does not mind being woken up, but he will be displeased if you let him sleep too much. You may use the clockie accessory to wake Sunday up at an appointed time.
Handle Sunday with dignity! Users are advised to not haphazardly hold Sunday, he holds himself in high regard and does not like being carried with impropriety. However, users may occasionally hold Sunday by the back of his collar like the scrunch of a kitten, for short durations of time.
Beginner Sunday requires a well-organised area with neat schedules and planners. He prefers yellow-lighting and if the user has a study lamp, Sunday may occasionally nap under it. He is open to talking but will maintain an ample distance with his user; but do not be discouraged. Beginner Sunday may become more open if the user manages to help him to their haircare products and share tips on preening his wings.
Intermediate Sunday is a bit difficult to deal with, according to user experiences. Sunday may demand more attention and become more meticulous with manner and speech. He may advise the user in their appearance and presentation. However, Sunday does not mean ill. He is simply trying to help his user. If the user becomes agitated due to his constant advice and expresses their feelings, Sunday may enter Sulking [II], and hide in his gift box. You may comfort your Sunday by arranging his accessories Conference Table Prop 2, Office Chair (8), and Sandpit Prop 1, Musical Instrument Violin Prop 2 and Documents Prop, and asking him to check the current layout which will lure Sunday out of Sulking and into Curiosity.
Intermediate Sunday may experience difficulty reaching the Advanced level, so we advise users to be more supportive during this stage. Sunday may act irrationally or out of character, and pace around in a space, supervise you constantly, meticulously manage seemingly insignificant things, and try to manage things by himself, which will leave him prone to Overworking [II] and Exhaustion [I]. You may comfort Sunday by offering reassurances and feeding him small, sliced strawberries, or sweets.
Advanced Sunday becomes much easier to handle. Sunday will become self-sufficient and engage in many conversations, mainly pertaining to your duties and responsibilities and help you become more efficient at them. Sunday specialises in Planning [II] which greatly supports the skill Initiate and Succeed [I]. He will also greatly help the user form connections and relationships, giving them social advice. However, at this stage, Sunday is also prone to Overworking [III] and Loneliness [I], which affects him in a greater degree than Intermediate Sunday. The user has to directly engage with Sunday and lure him out of work actively, and provide long hours of company.
Congratulations! You now have a full-grown Sunday. He may grow up to 5’6-5’7, and does not require much maintenance. You may request a copy of accustomed accessories with the appropriate specific manual provided in the care package. Sunday's Companion Feature works greatly with Robin, and it creates more resistance to Overworking [II], [III] and Loneliness [I], and helps him feel less lonely. However, users are warned to not use this Companion feature with Aventurine or Dr. Veritas Ratio, as it may create animosity between them and stunt Sunday's growth, along with weakening his resistance to Overworking [III] and deleveling his skill, Planning [II] to Planning [I].

Most Precious Friend
Playing around with writing ambiguous relationships.
Aventurine x Bodyguard reader
NO. NO. NO. NO. NO!
Aventurine ran through the long corridors of the shambled building. An eyesore. Ignored. A perfect storage place for missing people. This is where he would have been, should have been. It was his mission, his mistake.
Aventurine slammed open doors, each one producing only a growing dread within his stomach. His heart was erratic, and he almost wished he didn’t find what he was looking for. There were no guards posted because perpetrators only came with one purpose and victims only left in one condition. Silence. It was too silent. Still the young manager stormed through the building, hoping that his noise would stir some life, somewhere.
And then he found a lump on a dirty floor. The lump didn’t start at the sound of the door opening. Trepidation padded Aventurine’s footsteps as he slowly made his way to the lump. He couldn’t even tell if it was breathing. With shaking hands he reached out to feel the lump. Cold. His hand moved towards the wrist. Faint. So, so faint. But the heartbeat was there, and Aventurine shuddered out a sigh. He couldn’t cry now. Later. When he was given permission. Right now, he had no rights to wail.
Steeling himself, he slowly turned the lump over, to see the familiar face once more. You were caked in dried blood, bruises, burns, and bites. Your skin was swollen and raw. Aventurine could smell the dirt and infection wafting off of you. He was so scared to touch you, to lift you, for fear of putting you in pain once more. So he called the medical team that was on standby outside. Watching, as they lifted you onto the stretcher, Aventurine didn’t know what was worse, your silence or your screams.
He didn’t remember how he made it back to the hospital but came to when an IPC doctor asked to speak with him.
“Under relationship it says bodyguard”.
Aventurine hummed noncommitantly.
“They have a lot of injuries”.
He wondered when he would be able to see you, to beg for forgiveness. No. That was too much to ask for. How do you forgive someone after being tortured in their place?
“It’s just,” the doctor sighed. “In our experience, no one cares about the bodyguard”.
She hated such conversations. It was so much more efficient when there were only understandings. But since this bodyguard was brought in by the infamous IPC manager, she thought she would double check.
“I just want to see, if we still have an understanding”.
She watched as the IPC manager turned his head. He still had his sunglasses on making him seem distant to the whole event. He could care less about this conversation. Probably just wants a clean report and bill for administration reasons.
“The only understanding I have is that you are a doctor, and you have a patient”.
The doctor froze at the icy tone. She watched as the man before her lifted his sunglasses. Trash.
Aventurine gave a sinister smile. “One more thing, friend, if they don’t make it,” his voice dropped, “I’ll rip this hospital to shreds so fast you won’t be able to piece yourself back together in time for your death”.
Delivering his warning, the IPC manager dropped his glasses back on, tucked his hands into his pockets and sauntered out the door. It was so much easier to threaten when they hated you.
You almost didn’t want to open your eyes. It was way too bright, and you were way too tired. Besides, you didn’t know if you had it in you to endure more pain. You didn’t dare move, conserving your energy for when they came again. You hand felt clenched, and it buzzed irritatingly. It was strangely warm too. Probably a new injury. Mustering the courage to glance at what new misery your torturers induced, you brought your eyes towards your left hand. There was another hand. A familiar hand interlaced tightly within yours bringing you down to reality. He was alive. Your eyes softened despite the frown on your face.
“Putting yourself in danger to protect me defeats the point of my existence. I’m the bodyguard, remember?”
“Did you know,” Aventurine whispered, “that no one cares for the bodyguard”.
You nodded. It was the staple of your training. Live in the shadows, die in the shadows.
“Then why,” Aventurine’s hands tightened around yours, turning his knuckles white, “were you targeted?”
Observant, he always cut to the point around you. It was his mission, but just as he was closing in, his target got alerted and put traps in the cage. Your intel informed you immediately, but you had no time to plan with Aventurine. You had to act fast to buy Aventurine time.
“I might have,” you broke off and scoffed. You didn’t think you would survive and have to tell Aventurine the truth!
“I might have insinuated something along the lines of hurting me would cause you more misery than any corporal pain. He was a fool to believe it would work”.
Aventurine brought your hand up to his lips and delivered soft, feathery kisses.
“An utter fool,” he remarked.
“So tell me IPC manager, why is your bodyguard still alive?”
“Because” Aventurine drew your hand to his heart. “I am a fool and you are my most precious friend”.
