As someone who lives in a country with universal healhcare that DOES COST MONEY

There's a distinct difference between "phew I'm glad my bonus came in so I can afford this surgery I need" "things are gonna be tight because my meds are $80" and "guess I will roll those dice and hope I get a few years before I can't ignore it anymore because I can't put me and my entire family in debt" "guess I am just taking these at avoid going to the ER hours because these things are half my paycheck every month"

Like free would be FANTASTIC but also "oh fucking shit my period started there goes at LEAST $20" becoming "aw shit guess I gotta drop $8 for pads and tampons tonight" would ALSO be a VAST improvement we shouldn't just give up on
